How do these things even work?
Also, this is an upsetting change. :colbert:
Some members know their way around the food threads and some of them need to be pointed in the right direction.
Doesn't seem to appear for me. Good. :p
Time to start making Drinks threads I guess! :monster:
no can eat
Now that I see it's Quina, this is cool.
But, how do you use these tags? I literally don't know how.
Oh, it's the Quina thing? Neat idea. Can we make it so that it's not animated, though?
When you create a new thread, there's a new drop-box box to select a food prefix.
What's the problem with it being animated? Both the banhammer and Pike's chocobo icons are animated :p
I like it. Makes it easier for me to find any thread about food.
It's kind of annoying/distracting. Maybe it's because I'm at work using Simplified, which has images removed at almost every location, so they stand out quite a lot (prefixes obviously aren't filtered out because they're normally just text). I thought it would just be a prefix like all the others, so [Food]. Quina is a cooler idea than that, but the animation is what puts me off.
EDIT: Another idea would be to simply make it a posticon instead of a prefix, because then it would be filtered out on imageless styles - much like the animated chocobo/hammer ones are. =]
creating a whole other subforum to dump delicious food threads seems like the more logical idea! :monster:
This was just a cute little tweak idea Rantz that got to make the forums a little brighter. Is it really that annoying? Just sit on it for a day or two, jesus :(
I assume that the reason he combined Quina and the prefix is to make it simpler for folks who want to utilize it instead of having to first select the prefix and then find quina in the posticon.
If we create a subforum for food, GC will essentially die.
Finally, something to distinguish the food threads from the others! ... now I'm hungry. ;.;
nah, that means we'll just have to try harder to make relevant discussion topics! honestly, the subforum idea should be implemented solely as a reference point for food discussion and a more efficient way to find the topic you are looking for: i.e, recipe of the day, whether or not to take someone from eyes on to dinner at olive garden. and plus there won't be dancing qu's all over gen chat. :aimsun:
my two cents, anyway!
we're not making a subforum, nerdface
I think it's a great idea. The Writers and Art forum have their own prefixes, the general chat should have the same! To be honest, food is probably one of the most popular topics.
It's only really annoying because it disrupts the consistency of where thread titles begin etc - keep in mind that when browsing through thread titles, it's always right in the same spot where your eyes focus, so it's not something you can really ignore. When it's in the threadicon bit it's very easy to ignore it. It's essentially something I can't avoid - it shows up on search results, in my subscribed threads, in my User CP and in the forum. I'll happily sit on it for a couple of days, though, yeah. I'm only offering constructive feedback, as I like the icon itself being able to be used for threads.
Don't bother with a prefix, just the posticon. Problem solved. :D I kinda feel that prefixes are only suitable for the creative forums because every one of the threads in that forum is clearly one type of creativity or another, while GC is for... well, general chat.Quote:

I don't want a food subforum either, it would be a bit overkill. I don't think I'd want to browse a forum full of food threads, but I do enjoy reading the odd one in GC, so having it all mixed together is fine.Quote:

thank you, love you
I've added it in as a posticon as well, just in case people want to make use of it. It's really big, though, I guess it was shrunk down somehow for the prefix. o_o
Goddammit EoFF. Stop making food threads. :mad2:
Besides, people have the Qu's kitchen EoFF group for nattering about food indepth.
:colbert: Not even a full 48hours passed in the new year before EoFF made a new food thread.
Shorty :"Hey Rantz did something cool and helpful!"
Everyone else: "IT SUUUUUUUUUUCKS"
What happens if Lockharted or Iceglow makes a thread about poo? Should they use this tag? Enquiring minds want to know.
are you asking if they should use the [food] tag for thread about poo? :stare:
To be honest, I think one thing that EoFF lacks is a good poo emote.
I mean, even facebook has one.
This thread has now officially turned weird.. :screwy:
I'd preferably like to see a little Mr. Hanky bouncing back and forth.
Yes. A Mr Hanky bouncing trout emote.

We give you Quina and you ask for poo.
Take some time to think about where you people are headed in life.
It's okay. I've got it now. I don't need it in the database.

Rantz says your little poo monster adorable because of it's eyeballs.
:poo:
I think the Quina is cute and helpful.
Thank you Rantz :jess:
I'm pretty sure most of you are already on my List of People to Ban Once I Obtain the Necessary Powers or Indocrinate the Necessary Staff Members, but for those that aren't...
...consider yourself noted.
I have deliberately been staying out of this one, but obviously, this thread is nothing without me.
I... I feel so exposed.
Ahaha, I love how it's now the go to icon for bots.
