THREAD TOPIC: Do you go through phases where you post more than usual or are you just ALWAYS HERE?
I'm ALWAYS HERE but sometimes I lurk and sometimes I spam like smurf.
Shorty, how do you post 1,000 times in just 30 days? :(
I try not to post in this intellectual swamp.
Oh, fu-
I post at completely random intervals.
I just post when I see something I can comment on. :3 Sometimes that can be lots, but other times it's not so much.
I think I broke the 4,000 post mark within about 3 months of membership. I've never been able to manage even half that level of activity since.
This is my most active year ever. Don't think I used to post anywhere near as frequent as I do now because I used to be unbelievably shy. What surprises me the most is how many threads I've made in the past 30 days.
People have been bringing this to my attention for a few days. I haven't the slightest idea how it this has occurred.
I don't feel like I've been posting more than usual, I feel like the rest of the forums have slowed down.
I'm always here but usually there isn't much I care about posting in.
It may count in staff posts too! And she never shuts up in there. Always, "BLAH BLAH BLAH you guys we need to make EoFF more 'green'. You guyssssss this place is so not chill. hippie hippie blah blah hippie blah" It's tiring really, you don't even know.
Email notifications.
Its been a little quieter round here after Christmas but that's to be expected, I suppose. It's still much busier than it was this time last year. Personally, I think EOFF is very healthy and active!
I tend to post mostly from work but it's a pretty busy time for us in January so I've been a little quieter recently.
I was actually top, with something like 900 posts, but now I've slipped abit. Loony BoB's quite high up there, but I don't really come across him as often. Maybe it's just me.

I tend to post at mostly random times. Lately I've only been able to visit for a few minutes at a time so I can't post too much :(
I got to almost 800 in one week once.
Wolf is slowly catching up to me on threads started!
I don't think I posted much if at all yesterday as nothing really caught my eye. This thread seems rather jovial though and I shall post in it!
I go through phases where I post a normal amount and then I just don't post at all for a few weeks.
Shorty has more posts in 1 month than I have overall.
I think as it stands I'm the only non-staff in the top 5 posters OR top 5 thread starters :p
Get on it, girl!
it's not my fault i can't be arsed to read all of these threads.
am i doin it rite
I think I was once on there, but with a lot less than 1000 posts. Sarah, you postwhore.
All of my posts are Official EoFF Business, tyvm.
That one wasn't.
What Sarah probably does is do post one very short phrases to get her post count up :p
Though I have to say, I'm amazed I'm even in the top five. I've not really noticed me posting alot. I'm very surprised with the recent activity from Locky and Aulayna that their not up there.
Of all the things on EoFF that I could not possibly care less about than I already do, upping my post count is at the the top of the list.
[insert post contributing to thread and therefore upping my post count]
yeah shorty, I hear ya, I don't care about upping my post count either. pssh
OMG, jubiii! I'm actually on that thread starting list!
Yeah, Sarah is a spam whore. But I noticed that on top posters of the month, she has less than 700 posts in the month of January, 2013. And it's the 29th now. Meaning she must have gone crazy in the last couple of days of December to have 1,000 posts in the last 30 days. That or one of the charts is off.
How accurate is that chart, really? Didn't Jiro have like over 5,000 posts in less than two months some time back?
When I clicked on the link, all I got was a smilie list.
Ooh. OOH.
PHASES. PHASES.
I just thought of something: the "last 30 days" list might include Staff posts, whereas the "top posters of the month" list doesn't. That would explain the difference. 200+ posts in the Staff Forum in the last month would probably be about right for the spam whore queen.
EDIT: Which means the 7,800 Jiro is credited for in 2012 doesn't even include Staff posts... yikes.
For some reason, despite me putting staff forums on the exclusion list, I think it still tracks staff forum posts. This is annoying because staff post a lot in the staff forum. Long story short, Formalhaut is actually the top poster in the regular forums at this time, although Shorty isn't far off. The two of them are well ahead of the rest of us, Quin taking 3rd spot, then Aulayna, Locky, Boobs, myself, Neo, Mirage and Raistlin.
Still, despite that, I can happily state that the more accurate stats tracker (unavailable to public as it puts a strain on the server that way) has me at #7 for the month of January in the public forums (in December I would have been #4 if it counted Award Chocobo's posts as mine). I don't post as much in General Chat as many regulars do, instead I kind of pick and choose threads to post regularly in throughout the forums. The 'forum' I visit most is New Posts. ;)
And yeah, Raistlin, that stats tracker you're linking to is only viewable by staff. Stop teasing people. :p
So when I'm the top poster I'm a spamewhore but when Jiro does it he's a hero :colbert:
Nah, he was a spamwhore too.
It's your fault for being born a woman.
(SPOILER)No, Jiro was a big spam whore too. We just like them now.
You're still crazy for making 30+ posts/day.
Sometimes I think I would just repeat what other people have said so I don't bother posting it
You're a spamwhore, Formal.
I would love to get access to that tracker. I still want to perform some statistical analysis on EoFF post counts. :p
So am I in the top 10 if we exclude staff forum posts?
I am technically the top poster because that is the actual count of my posts, regardless of if they are in staff or not
Well of course you are when you have access to a spam forum like that!
You shut your whore mouth! That forum is full of the excruciatingly private, sensitive information that if leaked would destroy the entirety of this forum and EoFF - and additionally, possibly the earth itself - would cease to exist as we know it.
This is a matter of cyber security. I am doing the lord's work in that forum.
Oh boy, time to discharge my staffly duties:
The Secret Staff Forum is an entirely serious place which contains neither impropriety nor so-called 'spam'.
Just so you know, as someone who has access to said forum.
They're lieing.
There's probably a dedicated sub-forum for the staffers to post one letter responses.
Either that, or like how teachers gossip in a school staff room - EoFF staffers gossiping about members. ;)
I have been here a lot longer than many of the Staff, and I wasn't even aware of this "special forum". :(
Hey guys remember when post counts were hidden? That lasted for quite a while, didn't it?
Post counts were hidden?
I have no respect for any of you, anymore.
Yeah, we used to have trouble with members who would spam to up their post counts (because that used to be a big deal back in the late '90s, early '00s). I think they were removed sometime in 2002 or 2003. That lasted until... fairly recently, I think. 2010? I guess the staff realized no one cared anymore, and if anything we could use more incentive to post.
I always wondered if my post whoring was part of the reason post counts were removed.
I like the post counts being displayed, personally. And here's one more to that tally!
All I'm taking from this thread is that Formy is the real winner.
Yeah, because the US is the only corrupt country :roll2
I think WK is clearly thread-whoring :p
*puts on BoB hat featuring a pie chart and Excel spreedsheet*
Formal finished off the month of January with 832 posts, or just under 27 posts per day. He is on pace to make 9800 posts in the public forums.
Shorty ended with 745 posts in January in the public forums, or 24 posts per day, on pace for over 8750 for the year in the public forums.
Both would be EoFF records, as far as I can tell.
Interesting stat on EoFF's activity: 54 members averaged over 3 posts/day during January (93+ posts in that time).
It would be at this point that I would ask "is that a challenge" but the mere thought of putting effort into remaining in the top two posters for the year is exhausting.
Yes, all of them.
