I don't know what the smurf a Baltimore even is and I quite like San Francisco so I'm going for the latter. I will not be watching this, however, and I will undoubtedly claim I wanted the Ravens to win all along should they do so. This post will be edited accordingly.
I watch the Superbowl every year and I am always clueless to who is the favourite. I do not follow the NFL in the slightest during the regular season. I'm assuming the 49ers will be favourites so I'll cheer for the Ravens.
I'm hoping this will be the year when i finally find out what the 'line of scrimmage' is.
Not that I am rooting for this result, but I think the Ravens are going to take it. Either way I hope it is an exciting, high scoring game most analysts predict it to be.
Most analysts are predicting a high scoring game despite it being two of the best defenses in the league? That's an interesting sort of logic.Quote:

I want the 49ers to win because I'm tired of hearing about Ray Lewis. I also like Kaepernick a lot more than Flacco.
They're two of the best defenses in the league, but they're also two of the best offenses in the league as well.
At any rate, I'm rooting for the Ravens, because I wanna see Ray Lewis and Ed Reed win a Super Bowl the year they retire (I'd be surprised if Reed returns) for my alma mater. I expect that San Francisco will win, though.
Wtf is a puppy bowl?
puppy bowl. :kaoclove:
PUPPY BOWL. <3
GO NINERS
The puppy bowl is on! :kaoclove:
That short touchdown by Agatha was pretty sweet.
What is the Puppy Bowl? Please. Explain. It sounds awesome.
As for the NFL, I'm not from America, so I can't say I care for it. I'll go for the 49'ers if only because I have heard of that team in passing in the past decade.
WHOOOOOOOO NINERS
It's adorable for about two minutes. After that, you wonder how someone managed to score an entire timeslot with this idea.
Now I am wondering how this program has managed to score six timeslots in a row.
Touche.
Too much adorableness going on in this game. ;_;
I didn't come here to see kittens, I want puppies!
That vacuum is adorable!
Nice one, and he wasn't even aware of it too! No time to celebrate, gotta play!
Well it's Half Time!
Boo!!!! :pollbert:
the kitties were not very adorable this year they need more yarn balls.
the ravens will win but I want the 49ers to win. as long as the patriots aren't in, i don't really care who wins
(because the patriots should lose all games ever)
(go giants, 18-1 lololol, 9-7 team winning super bowl lololol)
Alright, second half is up! I'm rooting for Aurora!
The pippies are back! :kaoclove:
Aurora is one to watch!
All this trash talking and no scoring. :(
Edit: YES! Aurora!!!!!
TOUCHDOWN AURORA! :kaoclove:
Edit: proto, you mean trash barking.
xD This thread is turning more into about the Puppy Bowl than the actual Super Bowl, hopefully that'll change by the time the game actually starts.
:shobon:
I'm assuming the Puppy Bowl is just a Superbowl for stoners
Another touchdown! Now it's bathtime. :jess:
Marta is this game's Most Valuable Pup!
In the end though it was a good puppy bowl. I also love how it took over the thread for a couple of hours. Every sports team could use a set of hedgehog cheerleaders. :kaocheer:
The real game is about to start! ARE YOU GUYS READY!?
Everyone please immediately come into #eoff to comment on the game.
bertie I'm talking to you

IN YO FACE NINERS.
GO RAVENS
[obligatory superb owl joke]
I'm looking forward to a fast, free-flowing exhibition of advertising.

:p
EDIT: I don't know why but it's deciding that your post was two for whatever reason, pr00t. :-/
Missed an opportunity there...
49ers fumbled and Ravens recovered.
And there's nothing you can do to me about this, Sarah! :D
*bans*
I don't see any pink title under my name. :shobon:
you are poking the dragon, mister
Are you telling me I should not awaken the dragon?
Giving my dad so much trout for his early smash talk against the Ravens. So. Much. trout.
The Niners are just playing possum.
They're doing a pretty good job playing dead so far.
What a start to the second half by the Ravens! :D
Did that really just happen?
kaepernick, why you hesitating man
just smurfing go through with it!
Did THAT really just happen? Lost power? Really?
Yeah, it just... happened. o_o
Is that what that was? xD I thought it was my browser being weird!
ahahaha what! half the stadium!
What an electric game!
My old man is at the game and works for the Central Louisiana Power Company. He's speculating a cyber attack. I'm giving him all kinds of trout.
Man, this delay might smurf up the Raven's rhythm.
You're dad's there? That's crazy.
CLECO's CEO was offered a ticket yesterday morning, and he passed it on to my old man because the CEO couldn't go. He was looking to get tickets for the both of us to go. No dice. It's his tenth Super Bowl (first one was Super Bowl V).
Edit: He informs me that New Orleans is served by a different power company than CLECO.
I love this BBC coverage. They're just sitting there making no secret the fact that they have absolutely no idea what is going on.
(SPOILER)And the power outage isn't helping matters, either!
Right back in this game. :o
I bet the ravens are all pissed. Look two touchdowns after that break. Silly power outage.
Got ourselves a game now.
Why would they be pissed? They're still ahead.
lol. Just got a text from a former coworker who was raised in Baltimore, "what a bunch of bulltrout" :3 Sent some smack. :p
Not for long at this rate.
Beautiful fumble!
You're just pissed that the Ravens let themselves go because the lights went out.
I'm not mad. :shobon:
If you knew what's good for you, you would be.
what did i say
Boo. Still happy for Lewis & the Ravens but wanted SF to win moar~ XD
That's so Raven.
It's all about the []_[], baby.
I was rooting for the 49ers, but I am still happy. It turned into an exciting game, and Ray Rice is one of my favorite players. Most importantly, the Ravens aren't the Patriots.
Happy for Ravens and Lewis. I think Boldin was more of the MVP than Flacco. He made some big catches. Niners will be right back in the mix next year.
Power loss and they still won. Choke on that offense and d Niners.
And yes, at least the team that won isn't the Patriots.
I though Jacoby Jones should have won the MVP that awesome run back and that sweet catch that he turned into a touch down. Two plays that result in 14 points for the Ravens. Flacco played great but those two plays stood out to me as being that important to me.
I love how everywhere else on the internet (not so much here), people are bitching and moaning about the non-call on the obvious holding penalty on the fake punt/safety. Even if the call had been made, it wouldn't have mattered. Holding in the endzone results in a safety, which was already the result of the play anyway, and you can't flag a play dead for holding or put time back on the clock. Everyone was holding because it was the smart thing to do.
So how about the commercials? Any good ones you liked, or any that made you go "wtf?"
Ones I liked:
Oreo's "Whisper fight in the library."
Dorito's "Goat for sale."
Wonderful Pistachio's "Crackin Gangnam Style"
One that made me go wtf:
GoDaddy's "smart & sexy kiss" Really now...
I have never really understood the attention given to Super Bowl commercials, but the Tide commercial with Joe Montana pareidolia was great.
The Clydesdale one ;________________________;
I really want a Samsung Galaxy S3 but the incessant repeats of that smurfing commercial makes me want to specifically not get one because I was so irritated by the amount of times it repeated on my browser viewing. I have no idea how often it played during the actual airing but it was incredibly annoying.
The commercials were, with very few exceptions, absolutely horrible. The Go Daddy commercials were absolute trash as expected.
As for the game, it was thoroughly enjoyable in the second half but the first half was just boring. I figured it would be closer all game, not a shutout the first half. I'm not really happy that the Ravens won, but it isn't for any reason other than I dislike Flacco and Lewis to a significant degree.
Lewis' post-game speech on the little podium only ensured that. He is one of the most arrogant pieces of trash I have ever seen.
DESTINY'S SMURFING CHILD
It was the most exciting Super Bowl in ages. I had a feeling the Ravens would take it, but I have to admit that it would have been cool to see the 49ers make the greatest Super Bowl comeback in NFL history.
Maybe if you define "ages" as "the past couple of years." The first entire half was almost boring, but the second half did make up for it. Still, Giants-Patriots (round 1) and Steelers-Cardinals were more consistently entertaining (possibly the latter only because the Arizona playoff run was so hilariously awesome).
I like how 2 people voted Ravens after the game finished. XD
