Gust I love for thier Atelier games, even if there is some pretty bad misses from time to time.
NIS get's love for thier bitchin' SRPG's.
Though most of my love belongs to Atlus. Shin Megami Tensai is smurfing boss.
Blizzard because let's face it, they pretty much never make a bad game.
Valve because Gaben  and because supposedly they are the best ever place to work.
Firaxis. FIRAXIS. Also Paradox Interactive.
I'm not gonna say Bethesda but I am gonna say Michael Kirkbride oh god somebody just give him his own game studio please.
FromSoft. Tenchu-Dark Souls ONE-TWO KO!
Like MILF/Pike, I would say Bethesda if it weren't for the trouttiness. Certainly there are a fair load in that company that deserve praise, though. The music guy, for one. What a hero.
Obsidian goes without saying.
Atlus, FromSoft, and Monolith Soft have made some gems I've liked recently.
But of course my favorite will always be Nintendo.
Bullfrog. Populous, Theme Park/Hospital, Magic Carpet, Syndicate Wars, and Dungeon Keeper!
Microprose. Civilization II, Master of Orion II, Pirates!, and X-Com!
Bullfrog were fabulous. :( So many great games.
Atlus is also pretty great, bringing us bizarre Japanese games all the time. :D
Square-Enix

Oddly hard to think of any other company I'll always look into... I tend to opt for specific series rather than specific developers.
Early Capcom, Level 5, Trilobyte, Atlus, Squaresoft, Square Enix, Bethesda, Blizzard (Mainly for the RTS Warcraft titles and Starcraft), Senscape.
I know I am forgetting some too :/
Very few developers have successfully navigated the perilous straits between brilliance and BS to warrant adoration. I can only really think of individuals, like Yatsumi Matsuno and Hiroyuki Ito. On the music side, Hitoshi Sakimoto and Frank Klepacki.
I'm going to have to go with Bioware, Bethesda and NIS. xD
>>> The word "adore" is too much love for a game developer, all of them have disappointed me in some way or another..:luca:
I guess Konami is one that deserve some praise..
>not loving Gaben
Come on you guys, Gaben is our lord and savior of videogames
He's... something. He's a lot of something, whatever he is. I do love Portal 2! I'll give you that. :D
Gaben is pretty cool, I will admit. Valve has done a lot of good!
I like Gabe as a platform visionary, not so much as a game developer (I'm not sure if he is one). A lot of Valve's games were somebody else's games before. I'm not complaining, I have the Dota 2 hours to prove it, but it's not enough for me to adore him.
I'm pretty sure Gaben is a game developer given that he has developed games like Half-Life, Portal, and Left 4 Dead. Granted he doesn't develop MANY games and he's the arch-nemesis of the number 3, but still. :p
Atlus.
I love Valve as a dev. Not so much for their games (although they do have some gems), as for the fact that they seem to be one of the best companies to work for in the game industry, and we need more companies like that.
Arch-nemesis? Does he even know the number exists?
Arenanet, Valve, Firaxis and Bethesda.
i like naughty dog actually
and clover ;(
Oh, man. Good old Clover. :(
Diablo 3?Quote:
Blizzard because let's face it, they pretty much never make a bad game.
Not a bad game, I'd say, just a mildly to severely disappointing one. I still play it every now and again.
Well, I think it's just ok. My witch doctor playthrough was kinda boring but I had a lot of fun with my barbarian.
Atlus is definitely doing a good job right now. I think that the way they handle niche titles is absolutely perfect.
Atlus - Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, Demon Souls
Camelot - Shining Force, Golden Sun
Intelligent Systems - Fire Emblem
