Same cast or not? :colbert:
I hope they get the old gang back!
EDIT: SHORTY GET OUT OF MY MIND
I have no clue. I would think at least Colin is involved (possibly as host?) seeing as he's spreading the news. Ryan owns a comedy club in my town, I should go do some recon.
Nothing can beat the main cast. I hope they get them back together!
That show was my favorite for a LONG time
Also
Drew Carrey > Unfunny asshole British dude
Clive Anderson?
Eh, I dunno. The "original" cast (for the American remake) was excellent, yes, but I'd be willing to try out new people; improv is about the ability to adapt, after all.
old SNL members
plus the new ones
YES YES YES
Except SNL sucks, so no.
Banned.
ryan and colin are required, everything else is optional
Oh god Colin is so so so so funny.
Wayne is an idiot and is undoubtedly the worst part of the show.
Scenes from a hat.
I always really liked Props!
best news i ever heard today
wayne's cool, but i dunno if i'd miss him if he wasn't on the show. i wouldn't be mad if he was on though. but when i've watched episodes on youtube or something, i usually skip the songs (greatest hits is an exception because of ryan and colin's banter)
scenes from a hat, props, hats, that dating game thing, that party thing (the last two being where one person has to guess what the other three are) all showcase colin and ryan's brilliance
This is the best thing that ever happened on Whose Line:
Not the brightest bulb in the box, are you?
merging
Well you listen to troutty music, so smurf you.
It's not my fault you aren't observant enough to notice things dancing on the end of your nose!
You hate Wayne Brady! Sure, he is no Colin and Ryan, but he's still smurfing awesome!
Cathy is the worst guest on that show. (Hell, even as the worst on the show, she's still pretty funny.)
It's called the Search Feature.
Very few people on this forum know how to use it. Don't feel bad. ;)
I hope they use social media, being able to Tweet ideas for the show or something.
WAIT LANA FROM ARCHER IS THE HOST? I'm liking this even more now.
I disagree - Clive Anderson knew he was a host and stuck to that. Drew got involved... and every time I saw him get involved, it was terrible. Never was a massive Drew Carrey fan, to be honest... he's not terrible as a comedian/host (when he's not getting involved) but he's not someone I'd reccomend people spend money to watch, either. My favourite gameshow host would probably be Simon "King of Trolls" Amstell, but I think America would find him to be the most hated figure to come out of Britain since that other Simon they love so much these days (well, not enough for his desired ratings, but hey).
Lookin' forward to seeing this Aisha person though because I'm uneducated in her ways. More so looking forward to seeing the improv crew, because it's been way too long.
Man, I'm crying, for so many reasons.
British hosts are in almost all cases superior to American hosts.
Jonathan Ross, Jeremy Clarkson, etc.
I'd like to see Jimmy Carr as the host, bring a dark edge to the show.
What about Mario Lopez?
Clive Anderson is a brilliant man, and Drew Carrey is a mugging oaf. QI and other panel shows prove that Clive's still got comedy game after all these years, so it'd be neat to see him in the big chair again.
A new Whose Line could be awesome. There's a decent crop of actual comedic talent among today's crop of comedians, if you can filter out all the dross - hell, even Colin Mochrie's son has carved out something of a niche as a little-known internet entertainer.
I don't care who the host is I just want this show back okay
Wayne:
Oh baby baby, girl, can you see?
I'm coming soon to a show on your TV!
I was so excited, but I can no longer boast,
That when I said yes, they said I could be the host!
Ryan:
Coming back to Whose Line, gonna start filming soon,
Gonna make some cash looking like a big buffoon
There's just one catch, but it's really no one's fault:
I won't even have Drew Carey to insult!
Colin:
I like making money, I really really do
I really really really really really really do
I really like Whose Line, I like it a lot
*Collapses on floor, spasms*
To be fair, Colin ending it would be amazing if only because everyone would all have to fall on the floor and spasm in order to echo his last line.
Let's play the Look At Old Contestants And Try To Remember Who Sucked game! Brady was alright. Had nothing on Greg, Ryan and Colin, though, but that's not a slight on Brady, it's just those three being utterly amazing. I liked Stephen Frost a lot, too. Josie Lawrence could be good at times, and I think I recall Tony Slattery being either complete rubbish or really good (was he the one that was awesome at the musical stuff?), but never inbetween. I think Chip was meh.
Best group for me: Greg Proops, Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Stephen Frost.
I liked the episode that they had Stephen Colbert on.

OMG Wayne has no hair! OMG Laura Hall & Linda Taylor are back ;_;
What? No, I was excited, but then I was sad because I miss Drew.
Oh, okay, that's understandable. I thought you were sad because Laura Hall and Linda Taylor were back. Those girls are true professionals.
I miss Drew too. Aisha is a helluva big ol' kick-ass black woman, but, well, that's kind of the point. She's not a bald fat ugly white man who enjoys being laughed at if she can't be laughed with. She's shown a penchant for self-effacement in the past, though, and hopefully that will play out on the show.
Jumping in a bit late on the Drew vs. Clive debate:
Drew was awful as host. His "the points don't matter" each episode completely ruined the joke about giving out points, and whereas Clive often made game-relevant jokes on the amount of points ("very well done guessing all the party quirks within thirty seconds, you get a whole... two points"), Drew always gave "1000 points to everyone".
Drew was also absolutely terrible at the games. Have you ever seen him play alphabet? He never bothers to keep up the conversation, he just thinks up a random word that starts with the letter and shouts it, then fills in the rest of the sentence. "B... uh... baboons! Look at the baboons over there!" And then there's the famous Irish Drinking Song that Drew completely ruined at the very start (I love the accusatory "what the hell were you trying to say?" look on Ryan's face when he rhymes Drew's gibberish with his own - it's so hilarious) - and he even continues to spout completely irrelevant trout when the others actually try to return to the story.
Drew's only value was as a professional presenter, which he is, and as the butt of everyone else's jokes, which he was very good at being. But he is completely unsuited for improv.
I didn't notice a Drew vs. Clive debate in this thread. The context was Drew vs. the new girl, Aisha Tyler. Drew was good for the show for the exact reason you mentioned, he's easy to pick on. All in good fun. No, he's no improvisationist, and his attempts on the show were groan-worthy, but Tyler might be bad at both. I guess we'll see.
Yeah, I'm not very fond of her as a host. The cast is still funny as ever though.
Eh, I've only watched the first episode, but I wasn't a fan. A lot of the special guests have simply not been funny, but if the alternative is getting a guest (Lauren Cohan) and not letting them say anything other than the closing credits, then what's the point? They should actively be seeking funny guests and then letting them be funny, instead of just being a prop.
As for Ms Tyler, you shouldn't have to say "Welcome to Whose Line is it Anyway?, the show where everything's made up and the points don't matter" after every single commercial break or game, and her voice was irritating to me. I like that Drew and Clive would dig at the others, she just sort of seemed like a fan/observer. I hope that things pick up, but it's not as if they have to experiment with a new format.
what a waste..
I watched both episodes so far, and I don't think Aisha Tyler is bad, she just doesn't have the repartee with the cast yet.
I agree with Calliope that I'm not fond of how they have two guests now. It sort of messes up the flow of the show. Plus I think it's weird how the one guest constantly goes backstage and is reintroduced every time.
I was severely disappointed in just about every way imaginable. About the only thing that was up to standards was Colin, Ryan, and Wayne giving each other trout. But there's no chemistry with Aisha as the host, and the guests were awful.
The show isn't long enough to warrant two guests, particularly ones who have nothing to contribute. Gary Anthony Williams was apologizing for his half-formed jokes and Lauren was pretty much there to look cute. The preview clip for the episode with Candice Accola literally repeats the prop joke they performed with Lauren (cute girl silently lying down, then giggling as Colin beats Ryan to be the one who poses on top of her), which wasn't even funny the first time.
They should just cut the guests and make do with Colin, Ryan and Wayne :stare:
Let's be honest, though--everyone is tuning in solely for Colin, Ryan, and Wayne.
I haven't seen this yet, but now I'm not sure I even want to. :( How could they mess up Whose Line???
I actually liked the first guest they had. :p
Yeah, the second guest thing is kind of silly, though it was funny as hell when she really knocked wayne down, and then he ran for his life. XD
Pretty much you go into this one for Collin, Ryan, and Wayne, who are still as funny as ever. :p
Did you all watch the second episode? They had the wheelchair kid from Glee, and Wayne had to serenade him. It was actually pretty funny.
I guess something I don't like as much about having a second guest is that they used to use audience members for those skits, which made it that much more funny and awkward.
