Would be a more respected food if they were only consumed late at night in a state of dire craving, I think.
I just put crumbled some muenster and american cheese on some chips, put some salsa on them and microwaved them and oh, satisfaction.

If short on ingredients I put salsa and shredded cheddar on tortilla chips. Otherwise it's ground beef (cooked), sour cream, salsa, and shredded cheese. I broil them in the oven.
I want nachos now.
I have been craving nachos for a bloody fortnight. Someone love me and give me nachooooooos!
I love the nachos fajitas I get from mexican restaurants around here; chips, melty goat cheese, sliced caramelized onions, peppers, steak and tomatoes.
No, Nachos is disgusting. I don't like Mexican food. Like at all.
You know I love me some cheese but there's a line where there is too much cheese and nachos crosses the line for me.
Corn chips are amazing though. Best kind of chips for sure.
And most Mexican food is amazing. Deal with it etc.
Yes, a real winner :barf: http://cdn.biggestmenu.com/00/00/91/...32177d9d_m.jpg
Take the onions out and that looks amazing
Ahahaha Chris eats the most disgusting stuff imaginable but doesn't like Mexican. u wot m8
Nachos are deliriously delicious.
I usually get some Nachos when I go to Chicago Bears games (my parents have season tickets). I usually get them with jalapenos on them because I guess I like the occasional minor heart burn. They aren't professionally made, but I enjoy them immensely, and they are usually my breakfast if a Bears games is part of the first set of game on Sunday.
Listen to my story...
This may be our last nacho...
You guys are bad at nachos and Chris is banned for liking feet and not Mexican.
I throw as much stuff on nachos as I can. Beans, ground beef, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, salsa, whatever else. Tortilla chips and cheese is not food.
That looks so smurfing good, omg.
I love nachos. Not the liquid cheese kind that you get at sports stadiums. But the kind with real cheese melted on top. Like this:

My fav nacho toppings are grilled chicken, pinto beans, melted cheese, and rice. And then top the whole thing with hot sauce. Yum!
chili cheese nachos all day every day please.
If you're drunk and hungry late at night, nacho chips with melted cheese on top is the holy grail of food. At other times, it can also be great, but tends to require a bit more finesse.
Instead?! Best of both worlds - slap it both on there!

You're talking to someone who eats guac straight from the tub.
I like how we've all decided that the picture Chris posted looks delicious.
Well, all of us except for Chris.
:colbert:
Do you have a Baja Fresh near you? They make excellent nachos that come with guacamole.

Now I want some. :(
smurf, i knew clicking on this thread would make me want nachos
the mention of the word nachos makes me want nachos, though, so
This thread makes me feel a little ill. However, I like to make nachos myself, with whole pinto beans, homemade guacamole, hummus, kalamata olives, and lashings of sriracha.
Calliope agress with me that Nachos and all other Mexican food is absolutely DIS-gusting.
I just said I liked nachos! And I posted in the food truck thread praising burritos! This week I had a food truck burrito, AND a cantina burrito!
Dude, not even the lone vegan in the food forum will agree with you here ._.
Here are some nachos for you, hat not included:

WHY HASN'T ANYONE MENTIONED JALAPENOS YET. YOU CAN'T HAVE NACHOS WITHOUT JALAPENOS.
Jalapenos have no place in my nachos. :colbert:
I hate when places do not layer, especially cheese. I WANT smurfING CHEESE IN THE MIDDLE OF IT. NONE OF THIS DRY trout! :D
Guac is awesome with nachos, as long as it is more than just avocado pulp/puree and they actually add trout to it.
Nachos are great. I wish to have some soon. :(
I wonder how long this nightmare is going to continue. It's like Family Guy. It just keeps getting worse and worse.
Century 21's nachos are usually made with: salsa, sour cream, jalapenos, olives, cheese, and guac. I love theirs so much that I can't help but devour it all before the movie starts. :(
Here is the perfect nacho recipe by me and you're welcome. Put them on a plate or a chip serving dish in whatever amount floats your little boats.
Layer like this from top to bottom
Restaurant style white corn tortilla chips
Refried pintos
Seasoned ground beef
Seasoned shredded chicken OR chorizo
Super chunky salsa, but not salsa fresca. That is too much oniony and will cause death and discomfort not necessarily in that order.
Black Beans
Fresh lettuce and tomato
Jalapenos
Mexican style shredded cheese.
The idea here is to make multiple layers of this. Not just a stack of the above and you're done. After you put on that cheese on, you start another layer of chips and continue. Then you put the whole shebang in the oven for a little bit to get that cheese gooey and bubbly. When you bring it out your chips will hopefully still be firm. Top with sour cream and thank me later.
Anything with black beans is a no go.
Anything with black beans is a YES MMM GET IN MY MOUTH
I like my nachos with some kind of chili con carne, cheese and salsa. If it's missing any one of these things it's not proper nachos, although I'll settle for a strongly flavoured minced beef instead of chili con carne. Anything above and beyond those things isn't really needed for me - it just takes away from the glorious flavour. Particularly sour cream and guacamole, which unfortunately I can't stand on nachos (or on anything, for that matter). Jalapenos I find to be a touch too strong, although obviously it depends on the jalapeno. I can eat them, but for me they just take away too much of the flavour of the rest of the meal.
