I just threw 10 on the ground.
EDIT: I now have the silver sword because I forgot about it and just checked right now.
I have been sucked in. Send help.
What have you done Pike? Why can't I stop?!
Everyone I have shown this to so far has gotten sucked in! :mwahaha:
I currently have a Chocolate sword, have eaten 3686 candies, thrown 100 on the ground ( I got a (;_;) because of it), and have a 2 lollipop/sec production on my farm. :D
dang you pike
Nope. Apparently some item you can get at some point to boost it to 300, but I'm not sure when or how to find it.
Okay, well now I'm just farming lollipops to buy spells.
Oh Pike, you evil evil girl.
That kind of robot that loves us. Or the the closest approximation to love a robot can feel.
I don't even know what I'm supposed to be doing. Eh.
This game is amazing. Currently rocking a candy diamond sword, some nice speedy boots, and I've completed the Swampy Swamp. Am now just farming for lollipops.
Computer crashed. Will to live destroyed.
The Load link won't show up, though. :(
:( do you happen to remember the code they gave you? You can load it with http://candies.aniwey.net/index.php?pass=xxxxx where xxxxx is your code.
(I bookmarked mine xD)
Well, now the ASCII stuff won't load, so I can't play anyway. xD
If I make 300 more posts, I'll be at exactly the right amount to earning 100 lollipops per second.
(SPOILER)*cough invulnerability cough teleport cough seed cough repeat*
I didn't even figure out until now that eating candy gives you health.
THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING.
Hey guys! Pike's been playing this whole time with like 100 health or something.
Yeah, I felt a right fool when I realised that. A lot of areas would have been a little easier, had I known, although most aren't about tanking. PLus you only get, like, 3 health per hundred candies or something. xD
Actually, I think the amount needed to level up health increases each time you level up health. 'tis a pain in the nutsack.
There was a time when I liked you, Pike. That time is no more.
Just got the amulet. smurf yeah, gimme all the CANDIES!!
Welp...my game broke or something. I got the plate armor and now I die faster than ever before. Like every hit's taking off 40hp. I don't know wtf is happening now.
Man, maybe I should have left this running overnight. I'm stuck farming lollipops to level up my sword and candy production. Currently at 5 candies/sec and a level 4 Sword of Flames.
i played this for a while yesterday, then accidentally closed the tab and the save apparently didn't work :(
back on the horse again today. will leave it up as i run errands, looking forward to having lots of candies when i get back
I think I used the wishing well too soon. :(
So with this candy converter and the fact that I leave this thing going 24 hours a day now I'm at an effective lollypop generating rate of like 163/second or so. It'll be interesting to see how much I have come morning.
Also, smurf hell. Seriously.
Stupid ghosts ><;;;
Waiting for more lollipops. If you hit the candy merchant upside the head a bunch of times, he gives you more candy.
The candy merchant...wants me to touch his lollipops...
I have 659 hit points now. Feels pretty good.
Up to the Cow's Stairs (these ghosts are a megapain) with the Sword of Life (L2) making 100 lollipops per second and 3 candies per second. 170k for the next sword level. Urgh. :( That'll take me at least a few minutes! That's aaaaaaaaaaaaaages.
Level 9 Sword of Flames and 13/candies a second here :aimsun:
Level 5 Sword of Flames, 100 lollipops/sec, 13 candies/sex ( I also have the candy converter). /smug
Do the ghosts half your health?
Yeah, I just closed it when it got up to wood sword. My smurfs did not extend that far.
Yep, I have Legend of Legaia to play and South Park to watch. :p
Stupid dragon. :(
The great thing about this game is that it's pretty uninvolved. You can do other things while you "play." You seriously have to be THE laziest person ever to think this game is too much work.
13 candies/sec? Y'all are small time.
I'm assuming this is the kind of game that will benefit from leaving it on overnight instead of playing it constantly throughout the day. =x
I guess that depends on how patient you are. Currently on 8 candies/s, and hoping I can go to sleep and then wake up and have enough to level up my sword. STUPID STAIRS.
Do you mean Castle Entrance? Still got your Berserk Potions? That and a few healing potions if you need them should do the trick.
As for the stairs + ghosts... imps are your friends.
EDIT: Easy candies if you have armour/horn/life sword you can just sit on the Castle's Entrance. :D Good for while you're crafting potions. Just got 15,000 candies from one quest without having to pay any attention at all.
WOO.
Just got the candy converter and the cauldron.
Where do you find the armour?
Castle's Keep, gotta beat the dragon.
You can get it from Castle's Entrance, too.
Given up on farming the dragon, not worth the time it takes to put together the potions. Farming Castle's Entrance with zero effort and just keeping all candies going towards my lollipop count using the converter. Got the horn so I'm doing 324 lollipops per second altogether now, thanks to the Horn of Plenty. I'll just let it crank up over the next 16 or so hours and then use the wishing well to x8 them when I wake up, I think. Really want to get a few decent levels on my sword which is still L5. As for health, 521HP now. Got all but two inventory items...
I just threw 250 candies on the ground.
Where the hell do you find that damn horn anyway? I haven't come across it in any of my questing.
GMOOH potion. Just make about 10-20 of them and you'll probably have enough to come across the very obvious cow level soon enough.
My understanding is that this is a game you can actually finish within 48 hours and not be playing for most of that time, so it's not the same level as those other games if you're talking about what I think you're talking about. It isn't the greatest game in the world by any means but it's a little silly fun, I guess. Gotta admit though, I'm around the point I'm getting bored of it, hence I'll leave it for tomorrow and see how I fare with a buttload of candy/lollipops on my side.
I found the horn in the keep, but then I died. ;-;
Facebook games help me get my homework done. No, really I start a quest or whatever, and in the 20 minutes it takes for that to complete, I do school work. I know I'm going to get a break, and after I've started another quest, I have no option but to do work again.
Joe just ate four million candies and gained 700 health, when really his teeth should have all fallen out.
You named "You"?
I'm just farming lollipops to buy spells.
Jesus Christ! I finally managed to get passed the demons in hell and kill a section of wall, only to be teleported back and have banshees and ghosts thrown at me. Made it back to the wall to destroy the next section, teleport, and didn't make it back a third time. Damn that level is brutal. It's just so hard to click stuff fast enough to buy myself time to heal. What I wouldn't give for some hotkeys.
Yeah, difficulty went WAY up from Castle Keep to Hell.
I beat Hell! What a bastard that was.
The next few levels are interesting.
EDIT: I think I just beat the game. Sweet! Literally. :smug:
Almost beat hell just now. Timing on invulnerability potions is important, and ghosts don't seem to like earthquake scrolls. Of course, the fact that I ate some 11,000,000 candies total and have my hp at around 1500 certainly helped too.
You can just send out imps to take on the ghosts, it's a lot easier!
Not sure why that didn't occur to me. Earthquakes also happen to kill every ghost on the line you're on though. Almost made it on my last attempt. Tried to use earthquakes and seeds to build up my health before the devil, but I ran out of earthquakes and acid rain spells were hurting me almost as much as I was healing. Well, off for another attempt.
smurf yeah! Made that devil my bitch!
EDIT: So, how about that developer?
On what I hope is the final level at the moment. That developper is a bitch. I just can't time it right.
EDIT: I don't know if there is a way to time it, I think I die the splitsecond I get to the end. x_x
EDIT: Finally beat the game, huzzah. Also, ate all the candies. Oh man. I had no idea what the right choice was out of eating or converting, but eating was faster so there you go.
Converting randomly speeds up at some point. Either way, I did both. Sword is level 45 and HP is over 12,000.
I stopped leveling my sword at L20 as I was stomping all over everything anyway, although I did boost my HP to over 10,000. Saving up my candy so I can get to the L8 bug which is apparently a "create your own bug" thing, or something, so that should be fun.
Pretty much will be done with the game once I get to the L8 bug, though. Nothing really to see now when it comes to levels and there is no way I'm interested in 'harde mode'. :p
What happens when I throw candies on the ground?
Also, how many lollipops before I get more than 1 per minute?
I'm at 100 per sec now, just saving my lollipops for those expensive potions
What will this chocolate bar give me?
Herpes. Never trust a chocolate bar.
Well, they are really. 10-20 is an exaggeration on BoB's part, I found it in 3 potions. As I followed his advice I was left with 17 of the useless smurfers :colbert:
Took me about ten goes as it seems I had to go through the desert something like seven times. :p Not that it's much of an issue, if you have spares they're a good way to get some fast candies if you're looking to beat the dragon.
I have about 50 or so spare last I checked, but that's just because I felt like making tonnes of potions.
Oh, and I gave up on getting the L8 bug yesterday. Finished with the game now. Yay.
I made 20 potions, and got the cow level on my first try :colbert:
How do I get berserk potions?
I think you get more if you wish for them at the well, but that's a one time only deal too.
You only really need them for the Castle Entrance, I never used them for anything else.
I'm wishing I hadn't used my well wish so early. :(
Yeah, wishing for the scrolls was way more useful than wishing for candies or lollipops. Cos you get those automatically!
I used my wish on the scrolls. Early on, too. Feels good man!
As did I. Join the club!
I slept overnight with the farm running 300 lps and then multiplied the lollipops by eight for my wish. It was definitely worth it. I could buy more than enough potions and scrolls once I started beating the dragon anyway, and of course I had the candy from overnight to spend/eat, too.
It wasn't until after reading through this thread that I decided to click on the link Pike provided. Imagine how surprised I was to find that this is a real game and that you all weren't contributing to one of the greatest troll threads I thought I'd ever read.
I just realised that this would be a really interesting way to make a game. Go to a forum, ask everyone to pretend they are talking about their progress through some form of game, sort of like a "Let's Play" thing but without a real game. And then make a game based on their collective fake progression. The weird thing? You could actually see a game like Candy Box! being based on exactly that.
EDIT: If anyone is interested in making a fake Let's Play thread based on a game that doesn't exist, let me know, because I'm game for it. :smash:
I could only beat the dragon with more health than he had. I wish there was an upgrade that made potion cooldown faster
Seeds should take care of that. Also, anyone come across that tree that takes forever and a day to cut down? :p
Never saw it.
After leaving things running last night and paying for a bunch of level 3 bugs I now have more than 39,000,000,000,000,000,000 candies. I'm not sure if I glitched it or not because the total isn't shrinking with the converter turned on. Welcome to the end game I guess. Where things get even more ridiculous than you could possibly imagine.
The converter speeds up the longer it's on, and eventually after quite some time it just converts the lot. I randomly switched back in time to see it do this on one occasion, I must have had something like 70,000,000 candy drop to 0 instantly. Leave it on and you should be able to get that level 8 bug.
Yeah, I know it eventually speeds up. It's just weird because the candy total isn't going up or down at all. It'll probably disappear once they all convert though.
Cow level on my second GMOOH! Woohoo!
So, wait
How do you get this "Cow level"????
GMOOH potions may randomly take you there. From what I've heard, about 20 should do it but I'd make them in batches of 5 just so you don't waste
I made 200 since I had enough stuff. It took me two to get there.
I'm pretty much done with the game now. Beat everything, unlocked the full developers computer, had so much candy, lollypops and health that it needed to use exponents to display them properly. Not really anything left for me to do.
EDIT: Speaking of this being the best social game I've ever played, I apparently need to start writing for Gamasutra: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/1...cial_games.php
Took me three GMOOHs to get my cow level. Good thing I only made five :monocle:
working on the developpers computer. I have 1500 health and a heap of invulns, but it's not helping me get anywhere. I get about 3 blocks away from him every time.
1500 health is more than enough. Don't use the invulnerability potions until the end would be my advice. What level sword do you have, of what kind?
I had a level 9 sword of life. I beat him, farming the l2 bug for the lollipop rate increase
I ate all the candies I got from developpers computer, now I have about 6900 health 0.o
EDIT: I just ate 29 billion candies and I now have 15000 health.
MOAREDIT: My first l3 bug gave my the sword of liflamesummoning. Smurf yeah!
How do you get bugs?
Beat the Developper's Computer level, TeesBees, then click the newly created "Computer" tab along the top.
Five. But two or three of those aren't the least bit challenging.
Okay, cool. I just got to Hell because I was farming lollipops and candies forever (except not, because I don't leave my laptop running much). 1300 health and a level 12 sword should be good, yes?
I only used one G.M.O.O.H. potion and abused the save/reload tactic to get to the cow level. It took me three browser refreshes. :p
Any tips on the developper's computer? It seems totally random how far I get. That and the layout confuses the trout out of me. (L12 Sword of Life, about 1500 HP)
The key is just to survive the waves and time the last little bit so you have an Invulnerability Potion up right when you hit the Dev. And at that point you mash buttons. Actually what I did was two swipes of the keys. The first swipe started with one finger on ";" and the other on "." and swiping left, then immediately jumping to "=" and "]" and swiping left again. Once I could get to the developer without dying, I was 100% successful with this strategy.
Oh and don't worry about the layout, don't even try to watch it. Just watch the \o/ vs. Enemy area under that.
And if you're finding you lose too much health getting to him, you can pretty safely spam the larger health potions since they don't have a huge cool down. Just stop when you're a few columns before the developer and the invulnerability potions should be ready.
Thanks, I beat him.
100 Million Lollipops for a Level 3 Bug ... Your sword lost 3 levels ... wtf!?
What do you do with chocolate bars anyway?
You eat them and they taste delicious.
Still struggling with Hell. L17 Sword of Flames, 2158HP.
The key for me was finding a clean path through the first wave. Combo of Inv. pots and Imps make everything after that pretty easy.
Use a turtle potion at the start so it's easier to move up and down through the swarm. Aim for the very top or the very bottom as your target attack point and use imps when the ghosts come out ('phase two') as obviously it saves your HP getting wiped by them. Finally, if your imp dies befor reaching the wall, use an invulnerability potion and fire scrolls as much as possible when you reach the wall. The wall actually hurts you, so the faster you kill it, the better. Remember, at the end of each phase, spam the key to get you to the top or bottom and then throw out an imp. The devil shouldn't be too hard once you reach him, but use invulnerability if you're really worried.
I haven't done anything in this game for a while beyond keeping it open in a tab to farm up lollipops. I want to see just how fast the sorceress can make candies rain on me.
Pretty sure it caps at 300k candy per 300k lollipops, which you can then convert back to lollipops via the candy converter to purchase more candy.
I finally beat the developer and now have 11517282047397830000 candy. My passive candy income has stopped.
Should I eat it, or turn on my candy converter for lollipops?
Convert it. Once you have enough lollipops you can do anything (literally).
Holy crap, I just now found the old amulet and the magical horn.
THIS GAME... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Polished Candy Diamond Sword with 50 LP/sec...
I'm leaving this up while I work. I'ma be covered in CANDIES AND LOLLIES! uJelly?
Pulled this up again after a couple weeks off, beat the game and then got the Level 8 bug after a few hours of waiting. It lets you randomize pretty much every value in the game so I wound up with a sword that had such a high level it was displayed as an exponent, and so much health that I could run through a huge line of ghosts in Hell and still have several trillion HP left. It was pretty great.
I actually barely beat the developper myself a couple days ago. Since then I've basically just left it running with 10000 lp/sec so I can farm the other bugs.

GET HYPE :hyper: :squee:
Good god.
I thought I was free. D:
You can check out any time you like, but
you can never leave.
Someone please save me
I like to think that I won't get sucked into this game. But I know I will.
So who's been playing? So far I've gotten to the cave entrance, but I stopped to farm candies and lollipops for a while. I'm at 100lp/s and 8 candies/s.
I completely forgot about this. :o Just started up now, can't get past the camels. xD
wtf is this nonsense?
The greatest game of all time.
Totally going to start playing it... probably today :plotting:
Since my last post I have played too much of this game. Currently battling a teapot. :3
I'm battling the stupid teapot right now. It's taking forever. >:[
After several hours of intense battling, the teapot is now at 20% health.
I got so hooked on the OG candy box, not even touching this for the sake of my own sanity.
So I finished it. ._.
EDIT: Oh, there's a Hard Mode. DO I DARE.
Oh God, please help. I've opened the link in a new tab. But it's okay. It's okay. I haven't clicked on the tab yet.
I'm safe.
I'm safe.
Just... just don't...
... don't look...
*click*
I finished it too. It's easier than the first one.
What!? I thought this new game was supposed to be bigger, better and longer.
Yeah, I found it mildly easier to get through this one.
Hard Mode, on the other hand... Don't seem to be able to get more health by eating candies. I don't imagine it ending well. So I closed the window, to look on at another day.
omg what have you done!? arest that person!!
and why would you throw candy on the ground?
so.. what exactly is my goal? what do i have to do? xD
its getting sader and sader as i throw everything on the ground :D
You get more options as your candy accumulates (up to a point).
Now that I've finished it, the second game was kind of disappointing. Lots of stuff going on but few 'dungeons' and they aren't very hard.
I'm having trouble getting into this game the way I got into the first. I'm pretty far along but I get around to beating it.
I just want you to know.... That I've had this smurfing game on for two days now... And every time my roommate gets on the computer or something I'm like... "DON'T TOUCH MY SMURFING CANDY GAME." I'm starting to scare myself.
