Interesting! Thoughts?
My thoughts are that it's time for us to add this smiley http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsys...twentyfour.gif
We could use it in the staff forum, too :shifty:
mite b cool
Depends on how well they adapt to the shortened format. Do they actually use it to cut out the B stories? Much as I love Elisha Cuthbert, for example, it's not like any of her stories were ever any good or added anything.
Wow, this is a complete shock. The approach they are using for the 12-episode format sounds about right too. The problem with the later seasons was that 24 episodes was just way too many to try to stretch out a 'single day' plot.
What's left for Jack to do, though? Pretty much everyone he knows is dead and he's already committed several capital crimes.
Welp, time to bring up robot Nina and her plot to launch an Al Qaeda meteor at the White House.
All I know is that Jack sure had one terrible week.
Anyone watching Jack Bauer's return to the screen? I have the first episode saved but haven't had time to watch it. The last few seasons of 24 were pretty bad, but good enough to keep me tuned in every week. Seasons 1 and 2 were some of the best TV I've ever seen so I'm hoping the break allowed some fresh ideas to enter the fold. If not, at least there should be plenty of Jack needlessly torturing people.
It's back. Watching the first 2 episodes now!
is this show still on xD
Smurfing (SPOILER)Catelyn Stark!
It was...better than I expected. Ill watch next weeks to see where it goes.
Finally watched the first two hours. It was fairly ludicrous but still awesome. So far all the pieces of the 24 formula are in place. Every season needs:
1. Jack Bauer
2. Chloe
3. President with a Weakness
4. Presidential Aide Who Undermines the President
5. Mysterious Terrorist Leader
6. Jack's Love Interest
7. CTU/FBI/CIA Official Who Secretly Works with Jack
8. Inept CTU/FBI/CIA Boss Who Plays 'By the Book' and Ignores the Fact that Jack is Always Right
As a former-Londoner, it bothers me a ridiculous amount that the "East London" the show opens in, is actually Shepherd's Bush, which is like full on West London.
This was the best episode yet. With only 12 hours they sure are making these action-packed.
Damn, Margot is ruthless.
Yeah, she's bad ass. Nothing will get in the way of her revenge! Just like how nothing will stop Jack from getting the information he needs.
I don't really like Heller so I hope he actually gives himself up.
This has been a great return for 24.
I think Heller is putting on a pretty rad performance though. "I GAVE YOU SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS BITCH. If my health was affecting my Presidency THEN I WOULD HAVE RESIGNED." PM: "Oh...okay, sorry bro."
Audrey this episode and every episode so far: *worried look* *worried look intensifies*
The only scene I found completely disbelievable is when Margot is chasing Jack with the drone and keeps firing at him, yet when he finally stops in traffic for like 30 seconds, she can't get a target on him until he already has a new vehicle? That was complete bull.
The PM is a total lackey. All this is happening in his own country and he has to defer to the Americans on everything? Grow a pair Stephen Fry!
Wow at this weeks episode.... just... wow... I did not actually think they would do that.
Hahaha, good ol' 24. No president is safe!
(SPOILER)No silent clock though! Every other major death has had a silent clock.
Yeah I noticed that as well.
Well that was...pretty lol.
Well I suppose that was the ludicrous plot twist for the season out of the way.
Yay time for [second terrorist plot in the same day].
Time for [third terrorist plot]
They sure are packing it in to these last few hours. The villian has changed 2 or three times already. Can't wait to see how it ends. My bold prediction: Chloe dies.
Sucked so bad. Loled when Audrey died. It was like "ugh...unnggh. Now...I'm going to die. I'm dead."
What a crap ending, too. If I was asked what could make that ending better it would be Jack taking a grenade off one of the guards in da choppa and pulling the pin killing them all...but is Jack dead!? See, it'd have people going crazy.
So disappointed with the end.
(SPOILER)I actually thought the end was fitting. The scene with Jack being on the verge of suicide was pretty stunning, and while I'm not a total fan of Willian Devane's acting this time round, the bitterweetness with regards to his Alzheimer's was really gutsy and I can't imagine most top-rated TV shows going that far. Finally, the whole Jack-for-Chloe thing cemented the BFF relationship between the two for all eternity.
Also let's hear it for Belcheck (sp) please. Legend.
