I know that at one point everyone changed clothes (Noctis lost his collar, Gladiolus - his shirt, etc.). This is because, from what I read, Nomura hired some super cool fashion designer to design clothes for the cast. So I guess it's kind of a fashion statement/motif.
EDIT: Just noticed Cor's wearing galoshes. Ouch. :/ And here I thought we put such trout behind us.
They're all wearing Louboutins.

Hmm, that fashion thing definitely crossed my mind, I just found it very interesting. I was thinking that maybe it helped somehow with speed/teleporting but that's so farfetched and I don't think everyone can do it...
Edit: OHHHHHH OKAY!!!! I see the inspiration now, so maybe it is just fashion, or, might potentially could possible maybe have something to do with the "fantasy" element XD;
