What happened to these delicious turnovers from my childhood? It was like they were there, and then WHAM! They were gone. :whimper:

From your childhood?
They changed the recipe.
Wut :colbert:
They're completely gone from all McDs here. :(
Once you go chocolate ones from Arby's you never go back.

Yeah, technically what Chris posted isn't even a turnover.
I don't know what the heck you're talking about. They still sell them at McDonald's here.
Here as well.
You can get two for a dollar!
That picture is not one I took. :colbert:
Turnovers here were squared, and looked like the ones in the picture I posted.
Back in my day McDonalds had these godlike beacons of deliciousness that were fried apple pies, none of this new fangled baked nonsense I tell ya.
They served them to you in a tiny red box and they were to die for.
I have been craving these all night now :nonono:
Darn it Chris
If they weren't in the middle of "renovating" the McD's down the street from me I'd go get one of these today and post pics in the thread.
Sadly it's currently a pile of rubble and I don't want to go across town to the other McD's.
I hate you guys for still being able to consume these amazing pies, while I have to settle for a truly disgusting thing called McFlurry. :barf:
(USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST)
McFlurries are awesome, bro, don't know what you're on about.
I would also jump on the apple pie bandwagon with you, Pike, except I don't like them, and the closest McD's is 20 minutes away.
Well now that we're talking about McFlurries, Apple Pies are incredibly boring. I'm going to go get one and a McFlurry, and then eat the McFlurry instead and post a picture in this thread. :plotting:
Why not both?
Because Chris needs to atone for his crime of insulting the single best piece of dessert ever produced by any fast food place ever.
The Apple Pie will just sit there and taunt him.
I had a hot apple pie from McD's not too long ago, and it was glorious. All fried goodness.
I went to McDonald's last night and got two apple pies, two cookies, and a chocolate shake.
Thanks, Chris.
I hear the McGriddles are pretty bangin'... According to my sister, anyway.
I just.. I can't. I refuse. Something about syrup inside of an english muffin/pancake hybrid whatever oozing down onto sausage, eggs, & cheese.... Maybe one day I'll get wasted at 6 a.m. (or still be awake and drunk) and feel an inclination to try one.
I haven't had the apple pie in ages, but they still have them here. I like things filled with cream cheese, personally, though.
Oh man, McGriddles are awesome. You are missing out if you haven't had one.
You guys are really making me want a McGriddle.
Wait. You're telling me that I'm not going to bite into a mouthful of syrup if I get one of these!?
I was totes under the impression that the muffin thing on top had a glop of it in a pocket in the middle.
NO one has explained the whole concept of the McGriddle properly to me. Obviously.
....... I'm speechless and now I must have one. In 2 weeks. Juice diet.
No, it's just maple flavoured.
I get the appeal to some, but I hate those things.
It seemed totally disgusting to me 'cuz I thought it had syrup like -in- the muffin whatever.
This changes my whole outlook on them, though. I may have one.
As anyone who has seen me eat will tell you, I am a food seperatist, and I don't like change. The McGriddle thing bothers me. Even though it's stuff I like. If I'm not used to it being together, I don't want it together. I don't like different foods touching.
Like that KFC bucket thing they came up with with the chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and cheese. I like all of those ingredients. I would have probably found it delicious. But I can't eat it because I'm not used to a dish like that (such as I would be for shepherd's pie or whatever) and its all touching, so I can't eat it. It actually bothered me so much that when I was pregnant, just seeing the commercials would make me nauseous.
Don't go to McDonalds. :colbert:
I bet your local bakery does it better.
o.O;; There's no bakeries around here that I know of. I'm sure there are, I just haven't thought about looking anywhere.
It's mostly Mexican Panaderias though that sell sweetened pastries and stuff.
Screw the apple pies. Wait until winter and get the holiday custard pies! Those things are smurfing amazing!
And McFlurries and griddles are just okay.
Your moms an understatement.
Ehhhhh Sonic Blasts are better, IMO... More expensive, but they taste better.
What on earth is Sonic Blast? It sounds like a video game.
Sonic Blasts are practially McFlurry clones. :|

I've noticed we have gone so off-topic in this thread by now. Are we still discussing about McDonald's Apple Pies or just fast food desserts in general?
Look guys I was right
Attachment 44126
Dammit. I don't care if they're clones.
They improved on something already made.
Sonic Blasts are -awesome-. Had I not been whacked out on coke the entire year I worked there, I'd've gotten really fat eating patty melts & brownie fudge sundays and BLASTS.
I made a slushy one time... With chocolate syrup, orange, and grape and something else. Tasted just like a tootsie roll pop. Also made a key lime cream pie shake. IDK if it ever turned into a thing, but I invented that beesh.
