Scotty Has a Camera
I have a bunch of older pictures picked out to throw into this thread for fun! I'll just update every once in a while with new (old) photos I've taken over the last couple of years. I'm hoping I get inspired to pull the camera out again. Anyways, I'm going to start with some pictures of kittens because everyone loves kittens.

These are so gorgeous they should be used for an inspirational poster.
-
And just because I can, here are a couple pictures of my dog. I'll wait a while before I post more... I just wanted to show off my dog.

I like the ghost one of me just because it was fun to take despite it not being that great. What I was trying to do was to get it to where there would be two of me looking at each other (you can see a second pair of feed to the right, actually). Unfortunately, the picture would have been too bright to see anything had I got the second me in there. I'm actually in a close to pitch black room in that picture, haha.
-
I think it's really interesting actually. Your kitty pictures are adorable and the rain drops on the leaf look great. Especially the black and white one. You can see how spherical the water drops are and it's gorgeous.

Oh that racoon :jess:
Love the chair pic :3
-
The chair is probably my favorite picture I've ever taken. I do like the dragonfly picture a lot though, just for the detail I was able to get.
-
-
Those fireworks are really pretty :D
-
All of the colours on these are lovely! I really like the flowers.
-
Thank you! The flowers picture was actually the very first picture I took on my DSLR camera, so I'm attached to it just because of that, haha.
-
I love all these pictures, especially the chair. It's very melancholic. Almost as if someone should be in that chair, but has sadly passed away...
Community Update? Gold star for you!

Those leaves and that frog and the misty ones! Duuuuude, you're really good at this! Also, I like the photo of the chair. I can't wait to see more!

I love the boat picture. It's a weird cross between the end of Fellowship of the Ring and The Others.
-
The picture on the dock was supposed to have vignetting, which does make it a better picture I think. Unfortunately, that version of it is gone and so is the version of Lightroom I used to edit. I'm glad someone can appreciate the boat picture. I've always really liked it but have never gotten anyone to comment about it that I've shown it to.
-
That boat picture. So sad. So AMAZING.
-
-
I love The Birds. Creepy and awesome.
The Waterfall looks like something I'd see in Rivendell.
-
I had actually forgotten completely about the birds picture as it was from a photo adventure which yielded mostly really bad pictures. Always good to go through old photos from time to time!
-
Some bugs, a building, a flower, and Pokeball cupcakes. (I did not bake the cupcakes; one of my good friends did for a Pokemon movie watch party we did on my floor in college. I just think they're awesome.)

that old barn ;_________________________________;
-
The barn photo is really stunning. It has such nice contrast while maintaining the true-whites, and true-blacks of a good photo. Plus all the lines lead the eye around the page. Fantastic!

Those pillars make me think of a place in Fallout. Nicely done!

You should go up the Liberty Memorial and take a stunning picture for me, Scotty. <3
EDIT: Not of the Memorial, of the city.
-
I've never really stopped by the Liberty Memorial despite having ridden in a car past it pretty often. I'll see what I can do. I've been trying to convince a friend or two to go on a photo adventure with me someday soon.
-
Seriously, if you stand and look at the North side of the city...the view is stupidly gorgeous. You have to go if only because any self-respecting Kansas Citian would.

The final picture was just me messing with longer shutter speeds just after I bought a remote for my camera. Using a pretty slow shutter speed, I moved my lit-up phone in the air to see if I could spell stuff in the air. Matt turned out successful, but I had trouble doing any other names for some reason.

Aaaaah, the statue! I love it!
-
I submitted the statue one for a contest, but it didn't win. I either submitted this one or one of the Independence Square (it was a contest that shows different aspects of Independence, Missouri essentially). It was one of those contests where you had to have people vote on your picture to win if I remember right, and I never care enough to to spam all my friends with links to that sort of thing to get a lot of votes. I just did it as an excuse to walk around town and try to take interesting pictures.
-
FYI, there are a lot of super cool things you can do with longer shutter speeds in the dark like your last one. I've been meaning to try to capture sparkler designs but I have no idea where I can get fireworks this time of year.
It supposedly works well with glowsticks, too.

I've seen a lot of pictures friends have done with sparklers and longer shutter speeds. I mainly just keep forgetting to bring my camera with me when I'm in situations with sparklers and such. I also don't have a very steady hand and would need to set up my tripod for those sorts of things which can be kind of hard to do when I am in a party setting or something where there happen to be sparklers. Eventually I'll mess around with that. I have messed around with longer shutter speeds and campfires, big fireworks, and just normal lights. I also like to occasionally just mess around with long shutter speeds to try to create "ghost" like pictures of people and such.

These are not very good pictures from the Now, Now concert I went to a while back. Very poor lighting, a lack of equipment, etc. led to not very good pictures. My friend begged me to take pictures while I was there though, so I turned the ISO up real high and hoped for the best. They were at least good enough for him, haha.

Taking photo's at concerts is so hard :0 Good job on getting them sharp with low lighting! I think they could improve from a bit of basic editing like a little color correction and a bit more contrast, if you have the software it might be worth a try!
-
No software. These pictures were taken after I had access to my old college's Lightroom and Photoshop. Not that I was actually ever supposed to have access to that stuff since I wasn't in any photography classes, nor was photography a part of my major. Woops. I actually do mean to eventually return to these photos eventually to mess around with them.

That bee picture is insanely awesome.
