Roegadyn all the way. I miss my Galka tail, but it's all good.
A fellow Roe is a rare thing indeed!
Hyur, female. Made my character look like Rosa from FF IV, or at least as closely as I could. I think I succeeded. Somewhat.
Needs more multiple choice
:(
Miqo'te female!
Although I kinda wish I'd gone Keepers of the Moon instead of Seekers of the Sun now.
Manqo'te! :p
I was originally gonna play as a Femqo'te, but there's just so many of them...might go with Lalafell cos I'm little and baby-looking like they are.
:(
Make a roagedyn female! Or elf woman.
I dont play genders in Final Fantasy 14 or 11. always genderless.
There is no genderless option, sorry. I wish there were. Which gender did you pick in character creation?
I selected Roegadyn female because I'm a little drunksies, but I actually picked a Roegadyn male.
I went with Miqo'te female. After the beta ended though I fooled around with the character editor to help through the withdrawals. I ended up crafting an Elezen male in the image of Magus from Chrono Trigger. Now I am undecided in what I want -_-
I'm really surprised more people didn't pick Hyur, male, since they're probably the most relatable characters, and because the big guys have the all-around best starting stats in the game. Very interesting.
I might go with that. I haven't decided!
Aye, the stat difference is so minimal that it basically doesn't change a thing.
A +3 difference in a stat is negligible when you've got 400+ of a stat at level 50.
I assumed it doesn't make a big difference in the long run. But I recently saw some videos on youtube where a guy gives a breakdown of the best races for each class and job, and it seemed like he thought it made a difference.
Anyway, still surprised at the lack of male Hyurs. I thought that would be the default pick, but it seems like more people go for Miqo'te females. I guess guys like looking at hot catgirls while they're playing.
Which brings up my next question: do you see your character as an extension of yourself or as an object that you control?
I pick a character that looks like I want to feel in a fantasy world. So, I pick a massive badass piece of meatmuscle, because I intend on being a tank/miner/smithy.
Nice. I don't have a character currently, but I'd probably pick Miqo'te, Hyur, or Elezen male. Now you can see why I had a problem settling on a character. I still also entertained the thought of playing a female character because I'm a feminist and like the thought of a strong woman character.
The the face and hair options for male Hyurs suck, so that may be why people don't go with them.
Not to mention that they're all of a relatively flimsy build. You can't exactly make a badass big-Samoan-style warrior. If I could make a Hyur that actually looked like he'd be a more suitable tank than a Roegadyn, I probably would have done so. Someone who looks more like a rugby prop than a football winger. :p
I must have been the only person to make a lady elf then!
Basically, I brought my alt character from FFXI into life as my main character in FFXIV. Oh, and made her delightfully gorgeous of course. Dat character creator.
Perhaps my FFXI main will see life as my FFXIV alt in due time.
I know Raine had an Elezen lady, although she couldn't be around for Open Beta.
Needs multiple choice :p
I wanted to.Quote:
I selected Roegadyn female because
Yes they are. It shows them after you pick but before you customize your looks.Quote:
Beginning stats just don't mean a lot. They're not even displayed during character creation.
If I ever get to play this game, I'd probably be a male Midlander Hyur. Maybe I just have a boring personality, but being some buffed up dude on steroids, some elf with pointy ears, a midget, a furry, or some sea wolfy thing.
No, call me dull, but I like being a jack-of-all-trades character who I can relate to. I'm not really much for dress up fantasy anyway. :p
All races are jacks of all trades. And ears and tail does not a furry make.
Two Roeg males and two Roeg females. Hmmmm.
I'm claiming BoB's big jiggly ass ;)
Right now I'm trying to decide between Miqo'te male and Lalafell male. Basically I don't know if I want to be cute, or dashing.
There is a severe lack of non-effeminate, non-meathead, non-cutesy male models. I want a character that slick and well put together, but also intimidating. Basically I want a young Don Corleone or James Bond.
I made a fairly decent male Elezen that fit those stylish looks, but not exactly the race you're looking for.
I didn't even consider Elezen, but I'll mess around with it. Can you post a screenshot?
I think the small Hyurs, Miqo'tes or Elezen can all fit your description if done correctly.
