The most important poll we've had in The Lounge in a long time.
N*sync. Justin Timberlake came form them and he's still going strong. No one made a great solo career form BBB :colbert:
Backstreet Boys!!!
Yeah, but this isn't about solo careers, this is about the epicness of the boys and their music.
I don't really care for any of them, but BSB had catchier tunes, lol. Timberlake still annoys the hell out of me.
Why do you guys keep saying BBB? It's BSB. xD
That's an even better question than the question at hand. A new thread is in order to resolve this issue.
Oasis
Radiohead
Rage Against the Machine
Bands the play instruments.
nsync mother smurfers
No way. BSB all the way!
I mean, the collective hotness of BSB was (& still -is- actually, for the most part) greater than that of N*Stync's. I mean c'mon. Yeah. Justin Timberlake with his white boi jewfro or whatever, but that's really all they had going for them. Joey looked like a creepy old dude, J.C. was just ok, and Lance looks like a confused guppy fish. And the braids dude. Can't even remember his name. Yeah. He looked like one of those Puli dogs, but worse. I think I'm forgetting about one. But whatever.
XD And besides, in all of the BSB albums that I had, there really wasn't any song that I -didn't- like except on that Black & Blue cd 'cuz god 1/2 of those songs sucked hard whereas the N*Stync albums there were -maybe- 1 or 2 I liked on each one. Plus every now and then BSB comes out with new stuff that ain't always bad.
2ge+her!
Ahaha those aren't boy bands Denmark and Calliope
BSB is great N*Sync is better
e; Steph made a convincing argument and I changed my mind, N*Sync is great BSB is better.
Omg 2Ge+her... I loved that movie.
there's been rumors of a reunion w a tv show or something.
I was listening to "calculus" the other day haha.
Erm, why isn't Hanson in this poll? :colbert:
They've still got it as well
Because, Locky. They weren't the powerhouse of devouring teenage girl hormones.
YOU TELL THEM.
Miriel, we used to be friends. Now, I just don't know what we are, because I can't befriend someone who can be so blindly, objectively wrong.
My enduring love for the Backstreet Boys pales in comparison to that of my best friend's, but I will support and defend them until the very end for two reasons - I have a very bizarre sense of loyalty and A.J. McLean was, hands down, the most talented vocalist of the 90s boyband era. *spikes football*
98 degrees! Lol yeah right.
Backstreet Boys for shore. I enjoyed the fact that they performed at the end of This Is The End.
AJ is secksy as chuck though. Omg. His voice is the most like original out of the group's cuz it's all raspy and junk & it just has a whole diff sound than the other guys'.
There's worse than 98 Degrees tho. LMNT (w Matthew Morrison from Glee), O Town (the Ashley dude did the voice of Alex in Lunar Silver Star Story), LFO, and some other group. I have the song in my head, but I cant think of the name.
Also Westlife was pretty bad.
Hanson's isnt rly a boy band. They play their own instruments.
5ive.
I have decided to change my answer:
Boyz II Men would also be considered a boy band of the 90's, and I guess it depends on who you ask because I recall Hanson being right up there getting lumped in there as a boy band too.
Ugh bsb songs sucked compared to nsync. They were sappy and lame. Nysnc was fun and poppy! You guys are all lame vsb fans. I made fun of you in elementary
Does Smash mouth fit this category, because if so, then Smash Mouth.
Backstreets back! Alright!
I just sat and watched the whole Numa Numa song, Pike. I kept waiting for it to turn into a gay porno.
Yeah, it was sad. They were gonna do a 2nd movie but broke up after he passed away
Backstreet Boys had some good ballads. I can't really remember any other band from the 90's.
So I felt like listening to As Long as You Love Me and googled for it. I got zero BSB results and about 10 different Bieber results. Now I don't dislike Bieber or anything - I nothing him, and I know he's popular and all. But come on. COME ON. :colbert:
Seriously though, this is the actual correct answer. BSB were great but Five made me get down now.
That's cuz you didn't put "backstreet boys" after it Rantz.
Ohh, got to love Malice Mizer, though i wouldn't call them a boyband in the usual sense
They're -not- a boy band . Not like what we're talking about. Besides, Dir en Grey, ftw. They're rock/heavy metal. Not pop. Gackt on his own is pop, tho.
Da Pump is a boy band. Shinhwa and H.O.T. are boy bands. ... Omg shinhwa. *dies*
5ive, easily.
I don't count Boyz II Men, 4PM, Az Yet and other R&B groups in the same genre as boy bands, so I'm not including them.
Take That.
Backstreet Boys can't be that cool anyway, they follow me on Twitter.
What about Boyzone, Take That etc? :o
None of them.
Ever.
Because Spice Girls.
In China. Can't watch YouTube. Argument invalidated.
Victory; Quin.
GIRL POWER.
Spice Girls always win everything.
Everything except life.
Apparently they've got a new album out though.
We need to talk about that beard, AJ. Seriously.
Are there any pictures out there of Mana without makeup on?
Why are two of them randomly shirtless? This reminds me of that episode of American Dad called, "Hot Tub": Daddy's Gone
Wait...did they just get back together or did they ever break up in the first place? If they never broke up they sure did go from very popular to "who cares" status fast. I have not heard a peep about them since the early 2000's.
I'm guilty of seeing Spice World in theaters.............twice.
They took breaks. Kevin left the group for awhile, but he's back now.
They came out w that one album in like 04 or 05 that was actually good, then break, then I found some album they released after that, but it sucked, and now this one.
They toured w New Kids on the Block a couple of yrs ago.
Oh wow, this brings me back down Memory Lane.
Hm ...
It's tough, honestly ...
But I never could choose between Backstreet Boys or NSync. Both had really good songs, members ...
Shrug
Meh, I was like 15-16 during their debuts. I blame my hormones.
