Yes. When I first downloaded the emulated version (a couple of years before the first US PlayStation release), I was blown away by the simple fact that I could have some powerhouse knight with black magic if I wanted to.
The best thing about this game is the world map. Having it all come together and seeing how all those 'that's weird' things you noticed interact was amazing.

Everything everyone has said. Jobs, world map, Spyro GIFs, yes. The world layouts and multi-world concept were fantastic. Man, if a new-gen FF (XVI?) ran with the SNES-era concept of having, not just *a* world map (which would be a nice improvement), but multiple world maps? My head would explode with joy.
Also, extremely underrated OST. Some killer tracks in this game.
