Many of us have given this game a go at some point... but have you beaten Final Fantasy I? Which version/console? (For the purpose of keeping these simple, count any emulated games as the system they were first on.)

No - I have played it, but not beaten it.
To answer my own question; I have beaten it! It was the Dawn of Souls version on Game Boy Advance. :tonberry:
I beat the PSone version. Only played it once for the history lesson.
I've done it on a NES emulator and on Origins - PlayStation.
Been playing it on the NES since I was 4. Have beaten it there, on Origins, and on Dawn of Souls (on my honeymoon - FF in Hawaii!).
Contrary to what I said in the thread about cheating, I "finished" this game on NES emulator but I cheated. It was just too long/old/dull for my ps1 spoilt brain
I played the hell out of Origins but never long enough to actually beat it. Only beat two Final Fantasy games in my whole life. I am a sad panda T_T
The first time I played it on the NES I thought it was the most expansive game ever and it took me a good three weeks to learn and explore everything. Now I can cruise through it over the course of a day.
Why is there no option for both beating it on the original and beating a remake? I can't answer this poll :(
BUT IT'S SO HARD TO CHOOSE
WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME
I first beat it on the PS1 remake, later on I got the original version on Virtual Console for the Wii and finally beat the NES version. I own a copy of the NES version but it is so old, it stops functioning properly after a certain point in the game.
I've only played the Dawn of Souls version!
I beat the original NES version. I actually had it on the NES, which caused me no end of frustrations due to it glitching a lot. There's nothing worse than being in the middle of a battle with Tiamat, only to have the game hang because of the poor design choices Nintendo made for the original NES.
Well, I suppose there are worse things. War, famine, death, nonexistence, etc. But it ranks pretty high on my suckitude list.
Maaaaaaay have beaten it once or twice.
I beat the PS1 version
I beat Origins and Dawn of Souls. Never made it past Lich on the NES version though.
I've played the original, the PS1 remake, and the PSP remake, but I've only beaten the GBA remake.
Wow. All sorts of people have beaten it! That's pretty neat.
I have beaten the original a few times, as well as the GBA version. Good times.
Bahamut upgraded me. I haven't really gotten past that part so faik.
I like how three people visited the FFI forum, came to this thread, and voted that they had never played it.
Well, I guess that makes sense.
Nah
I need to get onto it again, got up to the second crystal- think it was earth ? And stopped playing for different games and FF II.
Of course, more than any other game on any system.
>>> I think I have beaten all the versions..:luca:
Original NES version (emulated), but only once.
Played and beat the ps remake version
Original NES Version: 4 White Wizards
Dawn of Souls: Ninja, Master, Red Wizard, Knight
The original NES version was broken as trout, lots of the black magic spells didn't work. Dawn of Souls is the definitive version, IMO.
It was the remake version I beat. I recently gave the IOS version a go, but gave up shortly after getting the levelled up characters.
