(I'm guessing computers don't count) We got a Super Nintendo when I was super young, I don't remember when. That's the first I remember - possibly around age six. I played The Addams Family, Kirby, and The Simpsons to my heart's delight before it stopped working. :(
Although I played some very early PC games before I got a NES, Nintendo's first was my first.
The first games I remember playing were on PC and on my parents' super old GameBoy. One of these suckers.

My first console if we aren't counting PC or handheld was a PS2 that dad bought for cheaps from someone he worked with. I got it well and truly after it was released and I remember it felt like Christmas.
Yeah add me to the "my first console was a computer" list. I wasn't console gaming until I had already been PC gaming for ten years.

Aye, PC gaming was my first foray into games. Then it was a PS1 if we need to specify a console.
In 1992, A texas instruments 386 SX IBM compatible computer. It was running at 20 MHz, had 4 MB of RAM and 200 MB of hard disk space. Lotus turbo challenge, f15 strike eagle, that's my early youth.
I didn't actually have a game console until 2001, which was a PS2. In 1999 we did get a much faster PC though, one with 300 MHz and a 32MB Riva TNT2 graphics card (an upgrade a few years after buying the PC actually). With my newfound processing power, I discovered SNES emulation, and i could also run more recent games such as Need for Speed 2/3 and Battlezone. My first computer was too weak to run Sim City 2k, but this new beast had no issues with it.
The NES for me. Fond memories of Duck Hunt, Paperboy, Super Mario Bros 3, and a Teenage Mutant Turtles Game.
My first console was a PS1. My dad had a NES and SNES but the PS1 was the first to be mine. But I was already a PC gamer by that point :p
First gaming machine was an Amiga 1200 - stuff of champions - and my first proper console was the PS1.
My brothers had a nintendo 64 but i never played it. they also bought a PS1 and that was the first thing i played... I still remember my first game was Nicktoons Racing lol
NES, shortly followed by Sega Genesis and Game Boy.
So neat to see how many of us had computers first! We had an excellent upbringing, my friends!
The first console I asked for and got for myself was the Sega Genesis. My grandparents also got one for us at their place for some mysterious yet equally awesome reason. I actually couldn't play it as much as I wanted except for sick days and weekends and such. Which probably explains why I binge so much on gaming now...
Our cousins had a SNES and we were at their house a lot
I cant remember if the first one we had was a PS1 or a GameBoy.
>>> Atari..:luca:
When I first played games, my family already had: Atari 7800, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, TurboGrafx-16/Turbo Express, and Sega Game gear. I played all of those and can't remember which would have been my actual first one.
I think the first system bought after I started playing stuff was the PS1. First system I bought with my own money was a Gamecube.
First system I played on was my brother's NES. First system I owned was the Nintendo 64.
PlayStation followed very closely by a N64
The SNES, my parents bought me a second hand console for my 10th birthday in 1994, and that bad boy is still going strong and sat next to me as I type this.
One of the Segas. I dunno. Alex Kidd was built in.
I played PC games first, like Oregon Trail, Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?, and Number Munchers.
When I was about 5, my parents bought me an SNES (which had only recently come out, I believe), and that was my first regular console. It was a few years after that when I actually got an NES.
My first "console" was an Amstrad 6128plus - which was really a primitive PC.
My first consoles in the most traditional sense were the SEGA Master System followed by the Nintendo GameBoy.
So,
Amstrad > Master System > Game Boy > Mega Drive (Genesis to you USians) > SNES > PC > PlayStation > Game Boy Color > N64 > PlayStation 2 > GameCube > Game Boy Advance > DS > PSP > XBOX 360 > 3DS > Wii > PlayStation 3
Gameboy! I loved that big ol' grey brick! :D
Sega Megadrive.
Sonic, Streets of Rage, Toejam and Earl, Bubsy, Golden Axe, Shinobi...those were the days!
NES, though I also had an Atari at some point. That NES changes my life forever.
God, all you guys make me feel old.:(
My first system was an Atari 5200 my dad bought that I unfortunately no longer have.
My first "own" system was an NES.
Played on my Dad's old computer which I can't remember what it was and my uncle's Atari 2600. The first system I had for myself was a Nintendo Entertainment System.

First console I remember playing is a NES, first one I remember being 'mine' was a Sega Megadrive. Eventually switched over to SNES and we had an Amiga with a whole bunch of games, too.
Nintendo duck hunt was so amazing!! Then a Sega genesis followed by a Sega Saturn ps1 gameboy n64 Xbox ps2 ps3 360 ps4. Ps1 will always be my favorite
