Let's Play Final Fantasy X HD Remaster #73 - OP? What do you mean OP?

Hello and welcome to Shauna & Mr Shauna Play Final Fantasy X HD Remaster!

This is something we have long been in discussions with the runners of the Eyes on Final Fantasy YouTube account, and it has been eternally put off because of various things, but here we are! Finally managed to get our capture card working, we wrangled Aulayna in to make us a nice title card (many thanks, it is lovely!) and most importantly we actually have enough free time in our schedule so we can game!

Without further inane babble (I'll leave that to the videos themselves), I leave you with Episode #1.

In Episode 01, we watch a lot of cutscenes and get an introduction to our main character and also a much more interesting character. Not even twenty minutes into the game, Mr Shauna somehow makes a potentially fatal mistake – can we pull through and continue on in our adventure?

Hope you all enjoy! Any suggestions for improvements, let us knowHowever, we have already recorded the next few episodes so the improvements won’t come into play until later on!

Things I am aware of:
- The quality not being fantastic, it is something I have looked into and should have fixed for next time we capture
- The TV being recorded in the background of our commentary
- We tend to mumble a bit, I chalk this up to our first time doing something like this

All of these we are working on. Any other improvements, please do not hesitate to comment!

I enjoyed that! :) Zanar has one hell of a sexy voice. Also I loved Matt's idea of flying in another Blitzball team in a water sphere xD

This is thoroughly charming me. Also, Mr. Shauna, you suck at this game.

One of the things I really need to enjoy a Let's Play is to have the commentary go hand in hand with the gameplay, and you've successfully mastered that already.

That title card is pretty cool.

Question, other than the optional expert grid & updated graphics, is there anything different about the game (like bonus dungeons/weapons/monsters/abilites/whatever)?

The music has been redone too, some less noticeably than others. :) But other than that, there's not been much added to the EU version that we didn't already have.

I'm not sure I can bear hearing Mr. Shauna say "Tee-dus" for the whole damn game. Shauna, you need to ensure that he uses the correct pronunciation.

I go for tie-dus. Makes more sense to me

Tee-dus, to me, sounds like it would be the Scottish pronunciation of it.

On this thrilling episode of Lets play Final Fantasy X HD: Tidus continues swim in the air, wakes up next to his best friend Mr Bird, starts some fires and meets a lady ;-D. Mr. Shauna discusses his confusion of the opposite sex, Miss Shauna can't decide if she prefers her kindling fried or scrambled and there is a mysterious special guest with some insightful commentary.

I'm not sure what part was better: "Kids and their crazy stuff" or "Spider-Man... what next?"

I guess there were also those parts where you played the game.

Mr. Shauna, is there any point where Miss Shauna will play? She likes to talk smack about your playing style. So maybe we should see how well she does?

Not sure. I'm sure our play styles will be drastically different considering I'll use cheer and she wont.

I was the person that most recently played the game as well, so she should be in charge as well :P

Dunno though, we'll see how it plays out. The smack talk is just how we operate.

In a way, I kind of wish you guys used the "Expert" or whatever it's called Sphere Grid. I would've liked to seen it.

Shauna, how can you not use Cheer? It's great for burning a turn when you're trying to get experience for everyone.

We're not Expert enough, sadly.

I don't really have an issue with Cheer. We were just bantering. xD I MEAN yeah it's trout and Matt is wrong for using it.

I am not hardcore enough to use the Expert Sphere Grid.. Also Shauna is wrong and we all would have died, Brother included, if not for my cheering.

Ah this feels nostalgic even though I only just played this game when it came out. I'm rather fond of the remastered music. I can't compare it to the original, but I like it.

Ps - The video quality is fart in this episode. We are messing around with video quality, jammed it up to max and it turned out really choppy during sections that are not cut scenes. I think this is sorted out in the next episode.

Also you guys might want to put an annotation at the end of each video linking to the next one. Can't help but feel sorry for binocular dude. He must've been hella annoyed. At least Tidus put his binoculars to good use.

On a more technical note, if you want to make Kimahri useful, teach him Steal and Use ASAP. I've also heard of people just saving his Sphere Levels until Spherimorph and then actually teaching him Holy right then. And I have to point out that you wasted 1000 Gil on O'Aka. 1001 Gil is the sweet spot, though 10001 is the best you can get (not worth it though).

I like to imagine it to be sort of like Blingee - except instead of gangsta' stuff, Sin is a giant Nessie, everyone is wearing kilts and the "Victory" chant is just a long extended "FREEEEEEDOOOOOOOOM".

We'll put a deep fried mars bar wrapped in haggis on the screen at all times.

I've always love the quick camera shot so it's not so obvious Lulu didn't jump. I also love how she's the only character in the attack on Bevelle who doesn't ride down the chains, yet somehow she lands...xD Mobility isn't easy in that dress, I guess!

I imagine she moves just as well as Peach did in SMB2. I think the designers just got lazy & didn't want the hassle of putting Lulu in action shots.

What is actually happening is Lulu's Boobs fly out in each shot, so they need to fade away from her to keep the PEGI 12 rating

So with the World Cup Finalists being announced as Germany and Argentina, I'm opting to put a little voting on this next episode of the lets play. We have our own Blitzball finals this episode which you kids can use as predictions for who will win the actual world cup!

Basically, associate the Luca Goers and the Besaid Aurchos a team out of Germany and Argentina, and then check back tomorrow to see what team is our predictions to be world cup finals 2014!

It would be easier if there was an underdog to associate w/ the Aurochs.

But, since Germany has participated in more WC than Argentina (yes, I looked it up), Germany is the Goers. Argentina is the Aurochs. Also, both those matchups start w/ the same letter.

Nico suggested the same match ups. So that's 2 for Argentina being the Aurochs, and Germany being the Goers.

I managed to win 2-0 when I first did it, Tidus nailing a Jecht shot and Wakka scoring with a Venom Shot. OUTCOME OF THE LP MATCHThat's not too dissimilar from your game! From a story/emotional point of view I think it's lovely when Tidus and Wakka both score and imagine it as canon :')

I hate Graav. And Balgerda. Bickson is useless but he's a twat too, when I played eventually he was released by the Goers and I signed him for the Aurochs - then the Aurochs released him too, immediately. HUMILIATION!

The stats are just a base. There's some randomizer or something that comes into play, so every outcome isn't set in stone.

I... don't know how that is different from what we were saying. We were putting extension and emphasis on the final syllable. Perhaps our speedtalkin' was confusing you.

And there may be randomisation on the stats, but that isn't fun. xD And learning techniques? Pssh, we can win everything with Jecht Shot.
