I'm new around here! Just wanted to say hi *waves*. Currently playing FFVII- my first FF. I'm under strict instructions to not look up any forums about the game til a bit later on as I've heard you lot are partial to a few spoilers- you cheeky things!

We're not TOO terribly bad. Actually I just looked at the XII subforum. Not really spoilerly. Most is "favorite character "favorite esper" etc. You should be okay venturing in there if you need help! PLus if you just specify you want to avoid spoilers, we'll respect that.

I have not! I'm a total virgin! Danny's been "levelling" me up by playing Pokemon with the view to get me ready for FF! I'm loving it so far though and intend to play more once I'm done with this one.

Welcome to the forum, Sophia. I'm ToriJ, Resident Critic. Final Fantasy VII was my first Final Fantasy as well, as well as the first RPG and Square game I ever played. I hope you're enjoying it. I see you have Aerith in your avatar there, she's one of my personal favorite characters. I just replayed the game last April for a review and it's still as fun to play as it ever was.
If you're interested in checking out some of the other Final Fantasy games but wanted to learn more about them without spoilers, hit me up in a PM. I have reviews of VIII, IX, and X-2 I could show you (although I'd recommend playing X first before X-2 obviously) you could probably find my VIII review on the frontsite if you dig around enough *shameless self plug* Also dig around on the frontsite there's a lot of good stuff there *shameless site plug*

Well I've been off work today and I've spent my time wisely "levelling up" (I believe it's called grinding?!) in the forest near Junon where I found Yuffie. Got all of my party to their level 3 limit breaks and got over 100,000gil. Probably do a bit more fighting before I move the story on!

Grinding would be the most commonly used term, yeah. Don't grind too much, or the game will become boringly easy. At least that's what I think. I try to not grind until i meet a boss that repeatedly hands me my butt.
It's addictive though! I like winning so easy sounds alright to me. Cloud is on level 30 and the other 5 are 28/29.
Level 30? And you're just at Junon? You're a patient one. I only ever leveled up 2 - 3 times before each major boss myself. That was how I beat the game back when I was determined to beat it fair and square.
I just do as I'm told! Danny's coaching me through! He teaches me final fantasy, and I attempt to teach him how to function like a normal human ;)

Danny once thought it was hilarious to put jigglypuff's song on loop whilst we were trying to sleep. It was funny for about the first 5 mins...!! I do like jigglypuff though-he's cute!

Your shiny Gulpin is doing just fine! He has since evolved into Swalot though as we've been getting our Pokedex filled up. We're currently waiting for a friend to trade us his Moltres and Yveltan to complete our search for legendary pokemon!
