What it says on the tin, what was your favorite part of the game?
I can think of three parts I usually look forward to:
1) Dollet Field Exam
2) Garden War
3) Esthar and Space
When you get to fly anywhere you want in the Garden. I also enjoy everything that happens in Dollet, Timber, Deling City (minus the sewers), and the Garden War.
Yeah Battle of the Gardens stands out for me. That and the ending to the game because it was so smurfed up.
Probably Disk 4. Ultimecia's Castle stands out to me as one of the best dungeons in the series.
There's a lot to really choose from, but at the top of my head, and in no order;
"Eyes on Me" on the Ragnarok.
Orphanage Flashback (mostly because, I liked how they foreshadowed it).
Edea's Parade.
Garden Battle (though the Rinoa scene was flawed).
Garden Takeover.
Squall and Rinoa in FH concert.
I'll add more when I think of them.
Dollet mission/SeeD field exam
Squall and Rinoa's ballroom scene
Flying garden
Squall and Rinoa in FH
Balamb vs Galbadia garden
Any funny scene with Laguna
Any romantic scene between Squall and Rinoa
Any scene that involves Zell and hotdogs
I love when you get control of the Garden for the first time, and then the Ragnarok. One of my favorite parts of this game is the side quests so spending hours flying around playing cards and whatnot is key for me. Also, the first time the party arrives in Esthar is magical(love that soundtrack).
Space.
The crash.
I know it's a rage scene for most people but I like having to catch Rinoa in space.
1. Returning to find the Garden in a civil war. Also the subsequent meeting with NORG.
2. Balamb vs. Galbadia Garden
3. Squall and Rinoa on Ragnarok
4. Seifer torturing Squall
The stuff right after you complete the game, when they show what happens in the immediate aftermath. More Final Fantasy games need to do this.
Garden Battle. It got over the top and silly, but it was a fun part of the game to participate in. I like the shot where you run across the screen with a FMV battle going on behind the party.
Not sure if this counts as a sequence, but accidentally making your way back to the Ragnarok on disc 4 (bearing in mind this was before the advent of the internets and YT walkthroughs). The shear joy I felt that day at being able to explore the entire game map will never be forgotten (though granted, 99% of the previous explorable areas were cut out for space reasons)! :)
Escaping the D-District Prison because of its awesome soundtrack >>Only a Plank Between One and Perdition.
And immediately following this sequence, choosing the Missile Base Infiltration Team and Balamb Team.
(To be fair, the second disk was probably my most favorite. It's a non stop thrill ride. I'm always sad when that disk ends, haha.)
And finally: Esthar and Space!--- Because Love grows, har har.
Ragnarok Snuggly Love Scene, and freeing Rinoa from containment chamber...thing!
If I have to pick a favorite, it's gotta be seeing Squall jump slash a Galbadian soldier, steal a car, drive it 1,000,000 mph into a barrier, and climb up a float to face Seifer.
The look in Edea's eyes says it all...
"That all you got?"
Saving Balamb and all that stuffs going on. I always get excited for that part
My favorite scene used to be the basketball court scene. I played this again years later and it was my least favorite. What a flip flop. I think I like the ending section of disc 1 the best now.
I feel like the train car uncoupling deserves mention. It's an intense, exciting and unique scenario in an FF game. I always look forward to the commentary between fake Deling and the soldier.
Really anytime Squall does the renzokuken is ok with me
Its like theyre giving you omnislash right from the start
Triple Triad, The Timber mission, Renzokuken, the sorceress parade, Balamb vs. Galbadia, Renzokuken, and Esthar plus everything that happens in space.
For as much crap this game gets from people it's still one of my favorites because it's easily one of the most fun, has incredibly immersive music, and there's Renzokuken!
Renzokuken you guys!
