SE have done much more than Final Fantasy. What is your favourite non-FF title?
Super Mario RPG (aka the best thing Square has ever done)
Duh Secret of Mana
And it wasn't even half the game they were planning it to be!
When do we get Secret of Mana Complete, SE?
'cause i'm too lazy to think of anything not on the list i will say Tomb Raider. I thought they did a great job with the reboot and am genuinely looking forward to Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Wow, I seriously thought I was going to come in here and see only two options on this poll: Chrono Trigger and Xenogears. And it turns out they're not even options. How the mighty have fallen I suppose. I'd say maybe it's time for a new generation. But the Secret of Mana and Mario RPG responses also say otherwise lol So I'm just befuddled. But for me it is without a doubt Xenogears
I picked Kingdom Hearts. That felt so magical to me when I played it the first time!
Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.
(EDIT: Honestly, probably Chrono Trigger...but I love both so much...)
Star Ocean
Chrono Trigger. Though I have liked what I have played of Bravely Default so far.
Kingdom Hearts gets an honorable mention if not only because I absolutely adored KH and KH2 but started to feel spiteful toward the series after realizing I'd have to buy... what, 6 different console/handhelds to play them all and get the full story, when they could have been making KH3 come not a decade later instead? Nah, they lost me.
Kingdom hearts cause disney
Kingdom Hearts or Chrono
Everyone knows Chrono is a part of Final Fantasy canon. At least that was the assumption I was going under when I voted for Bravely Default.
The World Ends With You.
(That's probably not true, it's just what I'm playing right now.)
If it has to be square-enix specifically then KH, if Squaresoft is included the ChronoTrigger followed by Seiken Densetsu (SD3 specifically) and KH tied for second.
Kingdom Hearts, hands down.
Chrono Cross and Legend of the Dragoon. They both came out around the same time as FFIX. These games were the genesis of my relationship with jrpg's. It's the ultimate trio if you ask me.
If it's any consolation, there were a few ex-Square employees that worked on Legend of Dragoon.
I'd say my favorite non-FF games by SE are Dragon Quest VIII, Drakengard 3 and Kingdom Hearts 2.
No Dragon Quest?
It's surprisingly rare that I play more than one game in a series that isn't FF but is still owned by SE. I suppose Tomb Raider juuuust edges Chrono Cross. Murdered: Soul Suspect was better than I had expected, but Tomb Raider 2013 is probably the best game I can recall that didn't feature FF.
OH. Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Okay, now it's a tough fight again. Crap. I dunno...
