Are you a bookworm?
lol
I used to be but not really anymore
A couple times a week lately. It's hard for me to find time for it. I am constantly having to multi-task to cram in things I want to do or see into my day and reading is not a multi-tasking thing :(
I am getting significantly more reading time in these days. I try to read a chapter or two of a book during my lunch hour at work. I went a long time doing very little reading - the desire to read on my downtime was low when all I did all day at university was read.
I'm getting back to my bookish ways.
When I was really little, I read constantly. Constantly. The older I get the less I read, although I'm working on reversing this thanks to setting it as a goal on HabitRPG and that site holding me accountable for it. Now I try to read daily, although it probably evens out to four or five times a week.
A few times a week, but, uh, what is a book?
i read EoFF thats about it
No. I haven't found a book that managed to suck me in since Order of the Phoenix.
You should take a peek at Neil Gaiman, my friend.
I'm guessing you just mean books because, I read stuff online everyday!
I don't read s much as I'd like :( My parents both read daily.
Everyday!
I'm a housewife. I love it.
Daily. Kinda have to right now, but it's no different when I'm not in school. I would kind of like to be reading more right now (backlog's filling up fast), but I'm catching up on the game backlog first.
I'd like to read every day. It's something I should work on, as I don't do it so much anymore. I heard an interesting quote today.
Quote:
If people such as Darwin, Gandhi, Freud, Nietzsche were at my house, there would be people flying in from all over the world to hear what they had to say. The thing is, they are in my house. They're in my library. Read every day.
Nearly every day since early December. Weekly before then for over a year. It's been going up and up lately.
i read every day. I love to read
I go through stages of reading every day, then maybe it pittles down to once a week, then once a month... then back into everyday again. Depends on what I'm reading and whether or not it's a real page turner.
I rarely have much energy to do anything cause of dialysis, but reading... don't need much energy to turn a page so I read every day.
If I find an autobiography by an interesting person I'll read it.
I worm the occasional book.. for several hours each day.
Does manga count? I haven't read many books lately.
I used to read all the time. And then I stopped because babies. I had about 7 hours of uninterrupted alone time over the weekend in which I ran two miles, washed my dog, got lunch, went grocery shopping, caught up on work, and managed to read an entire book, Station Eleven, which I enjoyed a ton.
All that to say, turns out I haven't lost the ability or desire to read. There's just so little time for it these days. Also, I am super productive when I am not in child rearing mode.
I love love love reading! My profession calls for me to constantly be reading up about new policies and ways of teaching and stuff. When I get the opportunity- which isn't often, usually just on holidays- I LOVE reading.
The books that I chose to read are my way of escaping. I love my typically girly romcom type books. Something I can read without having to concentrate too much. As a die- hard romantic, I love being able to pick up a book and read a really easy book with a nice love theme that leaves me feeling all warm and fuzzy afterwards. I'm a pretty fast reader and if I like a book, I can easily read it (approx 300-400 pages) within a couple of hours. A couple of days ago I read a book called Fairytale of New York. It was a great little book and was just the pick-me-up I needed after feeling so naff.
Reading for school? - Check! I'm in college, and even with half-time there's still reading I need to do.
Reading for pleasure that's not internet or video game text? - Kinda check. For one of my classes, I still like to arrive at 8 o'clock just so I can find parking even though class doesn't begin until 9:30. So I bring a book to read before class. So I don't read everyday. Instead it's a few days a week.
I read every day on the train ride to work. Soon I will be driving to work (and it will reduce my commute by 1/2) so I will need to find other opportunities to read. Perhaps I'll get into audiobooks.
I read when ever I have work to do, which is almost daily with weekends being generally an exception. This means mostly technical, science, math stuff, which is to say, nothing I'll normally pick if I had a choice. I used to do a lot of reading, I'm a fan of fantasy, and most of the reading I have done has been spent with Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire, Harry Potter, and Dragon Lance.
As of right now for entertainment I am reading a book called Wage Slave Rebellion, which is entertaining but I haven't read enough into it to give a better opinion of it.
If you count screenplays then yeah. I've gotten four screenplays in the past few days but I've accepted that as part of being a producer now.
Well if you count actuarial research papers then I guess I'm a regular Snobby McReadingsnob too.
Except the difference is research papers are not stories, so that doesn't work.
Who said anything about stories?
I just did. C'mon man pay attention. :3
I love reading. There is just nothing like getting cozy with a book and immersing myself in another world.
Much less than I used to. Once upon a time, there was nary a moment that I didn't have a book, at the very least, on my person. These days, however, I'm lucky if I have the time to read any more than once or twice a week.
