Or Late Late Winter Screen Name Contest, or Fall Time for Our Members in the Southern Hemisphere Screen Name Tourney. Your pick, but it's all the same. It's been a year since folklore hero Jiro has last hosted which LadyJuxtaposition has won, joining the ranks of fellow winning screen names such as o_O and Del Murder. This event shall run as it has always gone in the past. There will be names to pick in pairings, and your job is to vote for the name from each pair that you think is the better name. You send your votes to me in private thru Mognet Messages. I will be revealing the tournament tomorrow on Feb. 28! I will also provide the rules by then.

Huh? No hype so far. Anyway, there will be eight divisions/brackets and they're named after characters from the upcoming Final Fantasy XV. They are as followed: Noctis, Ignis, Gladiolus, Prompto, Cor, Lucis, Luna, and Cidney. I will reveal the screen names for each division tomorrow when the voting begins!

It seems no one is really interested in this, especially considering there's a lot of names to go through in the first couple rounds... I feel I need to apologize if I have to abruptly end this soon because of the non-interest among the members.

I didn't even know voting had started yet. I think it's better to start with a group, one of the division, and have people vote on those. Then when that's finished, go to the next one. It might take longer, but it would take less time for voters and thus more votes.

The weekend is always very quiet around EoFF, Proto.

In lieu of this competion, how many EoFFers do you call by their screenames outside of the forums? I can't count how many times EoFFers have called me Shiny over the phone or in person. I have the sneaking suspicion they don't know how to pronounce my actual name. XD

I'll roll with how they talk to me, usually. Kind of like how in the first podcast I was in we all referred to each other by our screen names, and then the next one we all referred to each other by our first names.

I call loads of people by their screen names when I talk to them. I'd say it's about a 50/50 split. Some people prefer one or the other and I have to train myself to use their real name. A few examples...

Levian - I always call him Lev.
Psychotic - I call him either Psy or Paul, I seem to alternate.
Shorty - Have always called her Sarah.
Lockharted (current username of Night Furry) - I called her Locky but she insisted I call her Tara so I spent about a week getting used to it and now I always call her Tara.
Shauna - It is a mystery.

I think I'd call you Shiny, Shiny. :D

When I talk to my fellow members, I guess it depends on the person behind the screen name. Some prefer to be called by their real names, and some by their screen names. Then there are those that don't particularly care what you call them. I am in that last category. Some call me Proto or Proot, and some call me by my real name. Just as long as I know that I'm being spoken to, it's all cool. :cool:

Somehow people just started using my real name on the forums. Not sure why it happened or how but I see my name sometimes instead of my username. It doesn't bother me but people aren't consistent. It's either Freya or Kaycee. Like in a post they'll say kaycee then two posts down they'll say freya. That's what's more odd to me than anything!

Although Gobo always referred to me as kayc. always

I got bored of being called "Psy" a long time ago and would change my name to Paul but for Daniel most likely flipping out and stabbing Danielle with a table spoon. Why does nobody call Tic, Oti or Cho? My personal favourite being Ych.

I picked my sn based on the logic that nobody else would want to be Spooniest.

To some, Pumpkin may be a vegetable, whereas to some it sounds cute (or nice) and seems to fit you. People's opinions do seem to change anyway.

I call loads of people by their screen names when I talk to them. I'd say it's about a 50/50 split. Some people prefer one or the other and I have to train myself to use their real name. A few examples...

Levian - I always call him Lev.
Psychotic - I call him either Psy or Paul, I seem to alternate.
Shorty - Have always called her Sarah.
Lockharted (current username of Night Furry) - I called her Locky but she insisted I call her Tara so I spent about a week getting used to it and now I always call her Tara.
Shauna - It is a mystery.

I think I'd call you Shiny, Shiny. :D

That said, BoB will answer to anything really. Lonny BoB, BoB, Daniel, Dan, - I even called him Robert (as in Bob) and he answered and said nothing of it.

With that, let's see our four finalists in the Semi-Finals.

First, we have the winner of the Noctis Division, CimminyCricket. The name is new to the tournament, but it's also doing the best from his previous names.

Cim's challenger is Lonely Paper Star, the winner of the Prompto Division. The name has done well in previous tournaments so it may be time that it could do just as well as CimminyCricket. However, only one of the names may advance to the Finals.

In the next match-up we have Rabbits on the Run, the winner of the Lucis Division. Rabbits on the Run also happens to be the title of a song from Vanessa Carlton, but it's a relatively fun sounding name and a new screen name in the tournament. Sometimes newcomers can win a tournament, so it's quite possible Rabbits could win.

The challenger is Flying Mullet, winner of the Cidney Division. Mullet is what one could say a veteran screen name. It has done well, but has yet to win. Will this finally be his chance to win? However, he has Rabbits on the Run in his way at the moment.
