If you don't have a PC otherwise, well, then you're pretty much out of options as the only other version that's left requires you to emulate it.

Yeah. Its a slidey puzzle where you number up to 15. To get it you hold A and tap B while in your ship. Then it will eventually appear.

Next time I will do the stupid annoying cave and the elfy place. Yeah ff1 isnt really my favourite so I dont remember any names.

At the Marsh Cave!

Well you see I just fight enemies to get money. Actually right now the money is being annoying since everything in the elf town is expensive. But ill grind up. Im lvl 11 the now

I Know two magic shops to outfit yourself with, plus the armour and weapons are extreamly expensive there.

Ok so I sailed across the sea and entered the elf village. Only to find the extortionate prices for everything. Luckily most of the stuff didnt interest me eventually I bought all the spells I needed. Amd entered marsh cave. Which has funny intense music and annoying bats who block doors. After running through the place I eventualy found what I needed. A crown. Guarded by dreaded piscodaemons

I got lucky with only 2 of them. But its possible to have 4.
Dead they are, I flee. But I must return once I gain a mystic key.
I head up to the crumbling castle to the north and find a dark elf masquerading as a king.

now after he dropped the crystal eye. I have to find the blind witch Matoya. Who lived to the north of cornelia.
I give her the eye and she gave me a potion to wake the elven prince.

im not bored I just enjoy every other ff more.

well. He wasnt the source. He was just a guardian of the true beast. However before we can fight him we need to return to Gandalf with the Ruby we obtained from killing the vampire.

I did have a stoner problem and had to go to elfheim for gold needles since only that town sells it.

we eventually go back and find the true cause of the destruction. The Lich!

he took a bit to kill and dealt some damage but he went down relatively easy. Honestly I feel bad for calling this easy since the NES version was probably hard as trout. Oh well

and yea. The first main boss is dead. I have went over to the next island I need to go. And here are my levels. (After all the fighting I got both knight armour which cost 36000 before I fought lich)

T later games will not be as easy. I expect ff3 onwards ill have to pay attwntion to most fights. But ff1 is easy however. Finding where to go is the hardest in this gane

FFIII I found very tough ya. I think it was just the number of enemies you would get per encounter that kicked my but with it.

I finally remembered where exactly to go and went there. At first it seems like a dead end. But if you go out the towns north eastern exit a ring of old men will appear

the lava floor is a bit annoying. But atleast you can come here and not have to go out to get an item. You just go all the way through. Theres a lot of chests though.

I also remember a rats tail I need but I cant remember where to get that. I also think I can upgrade my jobs soon. Im not sure if I need the airship for that.

You're making good progress with this. Your team are at a very decent level for this point in the game.

I think next is airship, class change, then the underwater level if memory serves me right.

I went to the surface and grinded a bit. Then went back down and I know im stronger cos I killed the angel boss in the chest. And all the other bosses too. Except I dont know exactly where iron giant is.

Damn I used to rate mateus as one of the easiest final bosses. Could vayne solidor in XII prove me wrong too?

The soul of rebirth is very grindy. Only ever tackle it if you can sit through that grind. Hell the final boss took 20 minutes of buffing Then holding A as he couldnt hit my max evasion characters. Except josef but he died anyway.

Yeah, FFIII NES is going to be a doozy, especially since you can't really abuse the Geomancer since it sucks in this version.

The thing hits like a truck and gets nothing less than 4 turns in a row. There must be some serious level grindage to even survive a couple hits. My Level 55 party never had a chance.

I hope you like FF3NES. It looks profoundly un-fun to me.

Ok. I have started FFIII. The final adventures of Gary Grant Ginny and Gilbert.

This game is much much slower than the last 2. Well I guess its not a fair comparison. Given I played the other 2 on GBA.
One thing I prefer about this game over the 3d version is you start with 4 characters and get your jobs before Jinn.

Can I also ask. WHY ARE THERE ENEMIES IN THE STARTING TOWN. AND NOBODY CARES?? Theres a poor old man trapped because of them.

when I got to the ghost town I accidently walked in some trees and found a secret path so I got mythril helm.

I also got the items in the cave above the starting town.
and I W. Slayer from sasoon castle tower.

jinns cave was annoying. I had to flee out the whole place twice. But jinn himself was easy.

I hate these places. They really dont let you do what you want. Like you are forced to use mages. Which is boring. I like my own team. Im glad these dont exist later (except that cave in ffiv which magnets you...)

i beat the temple of time and got the Master Sword Lute. have to say idk why i needed it since EVERY BARD PLAYS THAT SONG!

one thing is.... i had 1 door unopened as i ran out of keys and i tried having a theif in party but it remained locked. did that NPC way back lie to me?

Ok. I have made it... I fought through hell to get here. No literaly the cave of darkness is by far my most hated dungeon. Took me forever to realize to use a M knight.

then I had to fight through eureka with the constant doubting of my skills. Then I had to walk alll the way back through eureka into sylx tower. Then climb that only to realize xande is OP. And the change to 2 ninjas and 2 sages. Re climb the tower. Then stoop so low to using save states. Finally beating zande by hair of a kitten. And then try to fihht dark cloud. Only to be destroyed and unable to damage her. And now I realize my final objective. Destroy the 4 crystals. Then face cloud of darkness. Not gonna lie this game has ate alot out of me. But im proud to have made it this far

Ugh. The bosses here are too strong. I havent tried cerberus yet. But I cant kill the other 3 they are too strong for me. Im lvl 45. Is that too weak?? I hope cloud of darkness isnt too bad. If I get that far. This is definatly the hardest ff I have played.

Pretty sure FFIII is the hardest, period. 45 sounds low-ish. I'd grind a bit if I were you.

well I found this one funner than 1 or 2 in terms of gameplay. But omg it pissed me off in its randomness sometimes.

There was no way to save in the original FF3 remake while in a dungeon. Inthe phone and Steam ports though you have a Quicksave and Autosave before every battle. It is a lifesaver.

Right. I cant update much toll the weekend. But im at zeromus on ffiv. I could be fighting him. But I want to hear the epic music. Especially the last patt that goes "be bo bebo be bo bebo be be bo bo be bo be be bo bo be bo". Im like lvl 50. So yep. Its gba so any bonus stuff after the end?

After. But first you have to revisit Mt. Ordeals with the characters that weren't in your final party so you can get their ultimate weapons. Then the individual characters undergo their trials in the Lunar Ruins so you gain Grimoires, and when you have enough Grimoires you can take on the bonus boss.

Ill be doing that then. That wasnt in the psp version was it?

It was as well, but the GBA version was the basis of the PSP version, so that wasn't an original quality of that game.

Oh right, you'll also have to refight Zeromus with those unused characters, only then can they access the Lunar Ruins. Which is why you need the ultimate weapons from Mt. Ordeals.

Ughhhhhh but they are so trout. None can jump. None can throw. None can summon. None has Excalibur. And "minun" has trout heals and tiny hp. Im screwed


and do I really really have to use "eric" (edward) he is so bad. I dont know if hes worse than tellah though...

Oh, Edward gets good with his best weapon and on later levels. He's like the Magikarp of this game. pretty sure that at some point his stats skyrocket.

What about cid. Hes kinda of rubbish too. Nothing but attack and scan. Atleast cecil had an auto defend thing.

ok. Yeah. Then I went into the lunar ruins. I found it very weird.

so I decided that after 2 grimoires ill go to the bottom. So I did. Then I discovered Zeromus EG. At first he was piss easy. Until he started using absorb which basicallyvmakes him invincible as he heals more than y9u can damage every hit.

so after much playing. I return with all the grimoires. And....

Ok. I have done everything so far. And im ready to enter the void. I evrn tried out one of the gba jobs. And its pretty good. I ofcourse chose the easy one, gladiator. I will attempt to defeat the 2 superbosses. Well 5 actually. Omega. Omega mk2. Shinryu. Neo shinryu. And Enuo.
however. Everytime ive fought omega or shinryu ive got wiped in 1 turn. So im gonna have to pull something off.

anyway. Level time.

Butz up with you: Monk 3, thief 2, dragoon MASTER, ninja MASTER, Berserker 1, ranger 2, BM 1.

Lenna: WM MASTER, BM MASTER, TM 6, Geomancer 2, Bard MASTER.

all lvl 38 except lenna who is 37 cos of that bit when she isnt in your team.

I think im ready to take on the void. Well most of it. I pretty sure that ill be increased in power by the harder bosses.

If you wanna take on the bonus dungeon you're probably gonna need to master all jobs with everyone and go in as freelancers and mimics for best stats and ability builds.

Theres a really easy way to grind ap on gba version. Its a wee bit cheating. If you quicksave in the last area. Your 2nd encountee is 1000% a mover. So just spam that

Lenna: with romeos balad and hermes boots. To quickly spam stop on omega.
krile: was a fail. I shouldve made her a second bard.
faris: Dualcast BM with reflect ring and cast thundaga twice on herself

so yup. I killed them. But shinryu must be defeated. I would say hes harder since the tactics fpr him require much much more preperation. The only way to get dragon lances are from crystal dragons who barely spawn. And have a 3% chance of appearing on it.

so I gotta grind quite a bit.

Yeah, I'd say FFVI is the one that needed a retranslation the least since Woolsey did a very solid job with the SNES release, but I still like how this version has more polish and prefer it ever so slightly. Still, it's not as big a difference as, say, FFV Advance that really drove the point home how light and fun FFV is, or the FFIV DS translation that added some much needed punch to an otherwise unintentionally silly script.

my team ive used so far is. Locke Edgar Gau and terra/celes/shadow. (Getting an ff2 vibe from my 4th party member)

Pretty sure the Ultima Weapon depends on a user's max HP. So the stronger someone is, the better it hits.

I always just give it to Terra though since it fits. It's a good weapon that can last you the entire game.

nah it cant be that rare. ive had it 4 times now...

The slots are not programmed correctly. To get more of them cast an echo screen then hit the slots. You have the chance for the jokers doom then.

You know, ive never killed all dragons or have raiden before. but by far the best thing ive found new is the charm for no encounters. I wont use it much, but it sounds really helpful.

im about lvl 40-45 on my main 4.
i have 2 growth eggs because i got a Tittybum from Gestahl (never had before either) and bet it in the colloseum.


i really like this part of the game because you get to see everyones past even more and you can go anywhere. and its all dark but everyones so happy when they reunite with a party member and has probably my favourite song in all FF, Searching for Friends

I really like the ending to this game. I think its better than all the rest so far. Though V and IV did have more closure.
and I like the epic score of this game too. Makes even a not hard final boss look threatening.

I did every sidequest though. But I did limit myself. I didnt spam ultima. And really terra was mostly a white mage during the fight. The second part took a while to beat because of it.

Now. Ofcourse I have to try Dragons Den. Better hope I have a good bussiness presentation for the dragons. (I really dont know if anyone will understand that).

Soon we will be starting another fan favourite. FFvii.

It can be tricky depending on your level. The Zolom has 2000 HP but if you have a couple of T/S bombs you can make short work of it.

Well. Ive got a tougher challenge first. Survive the Kalm scene

Zolom actually has 4000 HP. Really the only reason to fight it would be to get Beta, and surviving that at this point and winning the fight on top of that (you don't keep it if you escape/get ejected) is pretty dang tough.

Everyone seems surprised whenever I mention this! Barret has to have his original weapon (Gatling Gun), he has to have no materia or accessory equipped and you can't use any command in battle. As long as your HP is high enough to survive (especially his final Molotov Cocktail!) he realises Barret is not willing to fight back. He still gives Barret the necklace (so you can get back to Gold Saucer) then exits bottom of the screen. He even shows up in scene towards the end of the game with Marlene!

I have a little problem. I may have forgotten how I got disc 1 to work. It sounds weird that im emulating on my phone. But I am. Its the last game I need to do that with though as I own the rest.

Alright guys. I tried for ages. And the only ff8 I got working on disc 2 was US. But my save happened to be EU.

Ive tried for ages. The closest I got was for a file to load but. It remains on a black screen.

so unless anyone can somehow give me a european disc 2 .bin file. Im gonna have to drop this game. Which is sad as I was starting to get into the game. Ah well.
