I say Zih-dane. But it's actually more accurately what Fynn and Mirage have said. I just started playing the game at first when I was 13, and I can't get that pronunciation out of my head.

It's kind of like Queen Brahne is BRAWN like she's BRAWNY because she's massive, but she'll always be Queen Bran in my head.

I always pronounced it Zi-Dane. I thought it was weird that they pronounced it as Zi-Dahn in Dissidia.

Considering the Japanese pronounciation does not end with "e-i-n", yes, exactly like that soccer guy. His name also does not start with "Za-i" so that one is also obvious.

I use a typical Swedish pronunciation --- "See-DAWN-eh"
(there are no Z-sounds in Swedish and we don't have any "silent E's" like in English).

I suppose the English pronunciation is "zee-DONE" or "zee-DANE" or something, though.

To me, "See-DAWN-eh" feels more natural, probably because that sounds much more "Swedish" than "Zi-dahn".

It's supposed to be Gitan (pronounced roughly "Zhee-tong"), French for "gypsy", written as ジタン (Jitan) in Japanese. I always pronounce it like that (and I call him that whenever I play the game, too, when I'm feeling mature enough to not just rename him "stupid" or "idiot" so I get him saying "It's me, stupid!").
