Anyone been following/watching the Major League Baseball Playoffs? If so, who are you rooting for?
I'm hoping the Jays put in a better performance than last year. I wasn't very hopeful prior to the post season, and it's not looking that great right now against Cleveland, but sweeping the Rangers with the best record in the MLB rekindles a bit of hope for me. They've got to get those damn bats working for them though.
Red Sox really flamed out after a great September. Would have been great to see Ortiz off with one last World Series, but it wasn't in the cards unfortunately. Of the remaining teams I'm rooting for the Jays now. I just enjoy their brand of baseball and they should have done better last year so it would be nice to see them redeem themselves this year.
I'm pretty sure a Cubs v Indians World Series would be one of the signs of the apocalypse.
Go Indians!
Does Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn still play for them?
Nah honestly, I couldn't give a crap. My beloved Yankees were awful this year. Any season where the Red Sox top our division is depressing. Especially when we don't make the playoffs.
If I had to choose out of the four that are left I'd probably go for the Cubs. What is it? 108 years since they last won the World Series?
Yeah, 108 years. They haven't even got to a World Series since 1945. Cleveland haven't won one since 1948 (though the Cavaliers did at least break the city's sports curse earlier this year).
They've waited this long, they can wait another year. Go Jays!
I can't watch any of the games because I don't have cable and for some reason the MLB season pass I pay for won't show playoff games (waste of money, though I split it with my dad/brothers). I would not mind seeing the Cubs finally win after all this time and Toronto is a hard team to dislike. Screw Cleveland and the Dodgers though.
The Blue Jays are the worst team in any sport in recorded history.
Just look at what they stand for. They should be immediately disbanded for the ridiculousness of their actions.
My bad, yeah. Apparently missed them. Best record in the AL then. You know, the league that matters.
And I'm enjoying watching the Cleveland racists get stomped right now.
So Grandal finally woke up for the Dodgers last night. I watched his at-bat this morning and it was pretty impressive. Especially when he was down 0-2 in the count. Getting back to 3-2 and then the pitch he hit out was great one. Must-win game for the Cubs tonight.
See Jays fans getting excited for an incredible comeback. Sorry Vivi, it's not gonna happen. Indians in 6.
Only one team in baseball history have come back from 3-0 down in the post season and I still refuse to acknowledge that it really happened...
You mean racists. It's a common mistake.
I'm feeling good about the Cubs. They'll be going against a rookie pitcher in his first post-season game. Gotta remain positive. The Cubs have these games where they don't hit well. It usually doesn't last too long & this game should be the remedy.
Cleveland have done it! At least the Browns are keeping up the tradition of Cleveland sports terribleness.
Cleveland pitching is ridiculous. Thoroughly deserved to win the pennant.
Cubs tied it at 2-2 as well in LA. The end is nigh.

Pretty sure hell is freezing over as I type.
I'm rooting for the Cubs because smurf the Indians and their smug-ass racist mascot :colbert:
I think pretty much every neutral will be rooting for the Cubs. They've got one of the most famous losing streaks in world sport.

For real though, I'm pulling for the Cubs. I am not a big baseball guy, but I like to see Chicago win in sports when they make it far in the season. I cheered for the Sox in 2005. Yes, fellow Chicagoans, that is wrong, I know. Again, I am passive when it comes to baseball. Keep in mind that the Sox used to have a huge World Series drought as well.
you don't really know pain in baseball until you're a Mariners fan and have never even seen the World Series
I'll be pulling for the cubs at this point for numerous reasons already stated and because it'll mean back to the future 2 was only one year off in predicting a cubs world series win.
Wish I could go back to the beginning of the season, put some money on the Cubbies! Wouldn't have made much though, they were heavily favored.
Too bad Miami is also an NL team and also sucks. But they did predict there would be a Miami team in 2015, so not bad really.
We do have 'hoverboards' but in name only since they are not even 1/10 as cool as what is in bttf 2.
Now where's my flying cars?
Big game one win for the tribe. Kluber was on it. Eight strikeouts in the first three innings? Ridiculous!
Cubs hit back!
It is ludicrous that if this reaches game 7, it won't be in Chicago (even though they had the better regular season record), but in Cleveland because the American League won the meaningless All-Star game.
To be fair they had to otherwise it would have been tough to come back from. Can see this going to six or seven. I reckon they'll split the first two games in Cleveland too.
Yeah, I'm not massively keen on the All Star Game deciding World Series home field advantage.
Cubs will win it @ home Sunday. #ICanFeelIt
It's not looking good for the Cubs :(
Cubs hit back, but can they win both remaining games in Cleveland? Hope we at least get a game 7 in any case.
If it goes to game 7 then I'm staying up for it. Even though it'll start at 1am here and I'll have work the next day.
If the Cubs can do it I will be honestly surprised. I am really pulling for them and I hope that they do it. It's just that one of the two games they won they did it efficiently. The other game they won (as well as the games they lost) there was sloppy playing on both sides of the field. I know the Cubs can do it as a lot of their success this year was last minute key plays. But against a team like Cleveland, it's gonna be tough as nails to win.
Last time a team came from 3-1 down in the World Series was 1985. It's only happened five times, so maybe we're overdue another one!
The Cubs have a good chance tonight, but I don't think they can beat Kluber. Either way it would be fun to watch. Also it would be cool to see one pitcher win 3 out of 4 games for the champs.
The Cubs are 27 outs away from being the World Champions! :omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omg omg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg::omgomg: :omgomg::omgomg:
Game 7s are always exciting.
CUBS ARE GONNA TAKE THIS HOME
Man, I'm shattered. Been off work ill today and it's unlikely I'll be in tomorrow. It's 6:40pm now. Once I've eaten my tea I might try and get some shut eye then set my alarm for 1am.
Go Cubs!
This is killing me. Bottom of the 9th tied @ 6. Cubs just got to get through this half inning & let the big guys take over in extras. #TheyGotThis #LetsGo
One of the best game sevens I've ever seen! Congrats to the Cubs!
Hope my Grandkids get to see their next one in 2124 :D
Best World Series ever. I am sitting at work trying not to cry out of happiness. I never thought I'd get this emotional over this. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2016 CUBS!!!!
Fantastic stuff! Cleveland must be thankful for LeBron James, otherwise this really would have been another miserable year for them.
TOLD YOU GUYS THIS WAS GONNA HAPPEN
smurf CLEVELAND
GRATS CUBS
This guy predicted this in his yearbook back in 1993!

Probably a good thing that a team called Indians with an absurdly racist logo is not the champions of any US sport.
I thought the excitement would come to a grinding halt during the rain delay but thankfully it was not very long. This game had it all, dramatic pitching changes, clutch hitting/fielding/base running, come from behind in the late innings, extra innings, and a rain delay!
A lot of great stuff happened, but the MVP of the game for me goes to Chris Coghlan. He was nothing more than a pinch runner, but tagging up from first base on that big fly ball is a decision that 90% of players probably wouldn't make though always should. It opened the door for that entire inning to happen.
