You should have said not letting you wait and allowing you to buy it yourself is a better gift than getting it after the torture of not having it for one month.
Seriously. If you have the money and want it, just buy it. Your parents (or whoever it is) can return it for store credit. If not, many retailers will allow you to return items post-Christmas for a limited time without receipt. That means you can get the credit back into your own pocket.
I tried to tell them I'm gonna buy it myself and I have the money to do so. It's just that they said they got the deluxe version and was banking for it to be my best gift from them. I started a family fight over it. Now I'm just gonna wait until x-mas and get them more gifts.
Damn, that sucks dude. At least you're getting the Deluxe version!
That's rough. Are they aware you've already been waiting 10 years for this? I can see both sides of the story on this and it's a hard choice.
I fought and fought but I decided to wait due to being a good family member. I will spend my money on them and wait for x-mas to play.

I do really want The Last Guardian on December 7th but I'll probably wait until Christmas for that. It's not like I'll have chance to play it before I finish FFXV anyway :lol:

It's not just this game, man :p. I'm just very over getting any game at release. If my hype hasn't died down, there's still the very high chance of a game being barely stable enough to actually run.
I have to wait until Tuesday and even that feels like forever.

I don't have to wait due to I never ask to receive gifts for Christmas. Though I do have to wait due to funds available for me to spend on myself.
I'm not waiting until Christmas, but I'm choosing to wait until at least a few days after release. I want to read some informed reviews from reliable sources that I trust, before deciding whether I'm actually getting this one.
I very much like what I've seen so far, but I also have very little faith in Square-Enix as a creative force. There's a chance that the game might end up being some kind of barely-playable, character-less, incomplete clustersmurf. I'm not willing to take a gamble on it at this stage, so I'll just wait and see.

Someone at work just had a PS4 with the game delivered here. And as I'm the person sitting closest to the door, I had to pick it up.
For a brief moment, I was so close. I almost touched the game. I just... Life is unfair :G

My spoiler free thoughts after getting past Chapter 1: I like it. I can see why some dislike it, but I am having fun with it so far and enjoying the open feel of the game.
