I didn't really start playing until about two days ago because November was insane so I'm still on the first island. But I'm enjoying the game a lot so far. I love the relaxed atmosphere it has. :)
I really like it too, and honestly as someone who has forever been screaming about Pokemon needing to change the formula - I was caught way off guard and I'm still unsure on it (leaning towards love) It does just feel a little bit less open world to me though!

I like the games differences. Glad its not too easy lol though I have turned exp share off. Im only just beat the second trial (or 3rd if you countvthe grand trial of the first island). I like the diverse pokemon however im not too thrilled that most of the pokemon encountered on the first island are gen 1. Think there shouodve been more gen 7 pokemon to show it off but oh well. Seems like its taking a wee gen v route and putting in a story thats a story. I mean the first thing we see is an uber tense chase scene over rooftops of lumiose city. With helicopters made by cyrus tryna shootdown archie and... yeah no just a chase scene. But yeah its good
edit: oh aye and I not a fan how every trainer has the same encounter music. What happened to cool stuff like
Yeah this is definitely one of the most challenging games yet.
That stupid Mantis Totem killed me off a couple of times because of it's bulltrout Synthesis move! However, the next time it wasn't so lucky as I returned with a full party of firepower! :)
Have a Growlithe and tempted to use my Fire Stone on him!!
My Eevee from the egg caught me off guard by evolving into Leafeon when I was in Lush Jungle. I want to catch another one and get it to evolve into Sylveon.
Despite having litten. I found the fire one the hardest so far. Even my slowpoke died fast.
Aaaaaaaahhhh! MY SYLVEON IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE AND POWERFUL OMG I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. HE'S MY PRIZE POKEMON!!!
I also have a Primarina now too! :D
Wait wait. I re read your post. You said you got an eevee from an egg? Where from? No that it matters as you can catch them but still
I got given an egg by someone at some point! I don't remember
The lady by the Miltank outside of the daycare, if I recall right, is the one who gives you the eevee egg.

Update: I just finished the Ghost and Electric trial.
Sylveon is now my strongest and most unstoppable pokemon haha. I'm always feeding him beeeeaaaans.
Hit a roadblock on my way to ghost trial having to grind wimpods levels up. But now it looks cool. Sory salandit
Just got to the second island. Still have my butterfree, pidgeot (or the moon version of it. upgraded pikpik or something), and growlkitty. All level 19-20 at this point, so I've not really been challenged yet. Except for that red-card trainer, who put down poison rocks and kept switching my pokemon. The jerk.
Pretty much finished the storyline yesterday. This has to be one of my favourite ones ever, totally.
This game needs a proper map. Even online I can't find anything decent.

im just done with 3rd island. Got me a golisopod tsareena muk slowbro incineroar and a crobat. Golisopod is a beast
btw I love that they put in 2 characters from gen v so far. Like it so unexpected.
