The announcement comes directly from the Final Fantasy 30th anniversary event held on January 31st.

Additionally a new key visual was revealed, possibly the final box art for the game. It can be found here.

Glad to see a concrete date for this!
uuugh that's forever from now
Finally.
Thank you for the update.
July will be here in no time.
Thanks for the update, Scruff!
July is mid-year, but I'm happy enough. I mean, March: ME: Andromeda, April: Persona 5... July: FFXII: TZA seems like a good pacing.
Mrgrgr
Screw all you guys with PS4s, eh? :G
This is much sooner than I expected!
I love the poster for it! Hopefully in the coming year it'll get a wider release.

I hope Penelo is in it
I was hoping for sooner Xx oh well, I'll take it.
I think I used Penelo the most out of all the main characters, mainly because she appears so little in the actual story.
Really? This is actually much later than I expected.
The trophy list for the game was revealed last week. Yet the game is still ~5 1/2 months out from release. Other games like Dead Rising have had their trophy list revealed a mere two months before the official release date.
I wonder what the hold up is. I don't mind though, considering this gives me time to work through my backlog.
OOOOO My mom's birthday! Too bad she doesn't like it but.. 7 days later is my birthday! What a great gift for meeeeee
What's taking so long? Aren't they just making the I version prettier?
Actually, this is still faster than Square Enix's last HD Remaster with Final Fantasy X and X-2. They were announced at TGS 2011 and weren't released in Japan until 2 years later in December 2013. The North American release of the game was over 2 and a half years after the initial TGS announcement.
XII: The Zodiac Age was announced in June 2016. So this is just over a year between the announcement and the release.
However, I think this is proof that SE both takes longer to remaster games and continues to announce games far too early. Dead Rising's PS4 remaster wasn't announced until July, and was officially released only two months later in September. Similarly, the Bioshock collection was announced in June and was also released in September.
Ultimately I'm disappointed that Square Enix is suffering from these issues, but I appreciate that there is an improvement.
that pose by fran is straight up milo manara lol
don't google him at work
looking forward to this actually i guess
not that i have the console but whatever
Just love how Fran is sticking her bum way up in the air :jess:
Also, ashe's skirt is even more non-existent than before
Yoshida's gotten bolder with age, that can't be denied :p
Yeah, what is Fran doing in that pose? :jess:
I think she did that pose in some cutscene prior to the game's release on PS2. Might be a throwback to that.
She's on her flying motorcycle thingy
yeah when they do the heist the first time
but like out of context it's so lol
Is there any word of a special edition release? I would be all over that.
