Both are good but not amazing. Celes gets my vote, I quite liked her arc.
Zidane has a tail. That's weird. Celes has one of the most compelling storylines of any FF character.

Hmm.this tournamemt really makes you think about characters compared to others. No where else would you compare balthier and kefka. Or zidane and celes so this is pretty tough. Hmmmmm..... hmmmm... Zidane: more personality and humanity than all the characters of VII and VIII combined. Celes is cool too, though.
It's hard to choose, but sorry Zidane, Celes has my vote. She's truly one of the best character ever.
And so, I withdraw my own vote to allow for the tie to not exist.
