That looks better than I expected, except for the gnorc who looks way too goofy. Still it's only marginally better than the hideous N. Sane trilogy, I'm not saying it needs to be super photo-realistic with bloom up the ass, but surely they could have made it better looking than a typical Wii game.

I know what I'll be ignoring all my real life responsibilities for soon.

As with Crash, looks better than I expect from a "remaster" trilogy of PS1 games. I played some but never much of the Spyro games so maybe I'll pick it up.

My wife and I are both really excited for this.

That happy feeling of knowing you are going to be playing these games again in clearer graphics.


That not so happy feeling of remembering that you have to do those painful orb/egg challenges again and getting some childhood PTSD.

It's really not that bad. I struggled way less with this compared with Crash, when I replayed both a few years back. I went on fully expecting to struggle to 100%+ the first one and I was done without much issue.

Not that the game was any less enjoyable for It, still great fun.

I cannot wait for that remastered soundtrack tho. It's gonna be great.

I appreciate Crash happened, but I was never really big into Crash. I never owned a Spyro game, but had a lot more exposure to him. And actually really enjoyed a couple of his games that my brother owned. So I probably will be picking this up day one. Hurrah for companies listening to fans

Yaaaaaaas! All they need to do now is remaster Croc, and all of the games of my childhood will have been remastered.

I can't wait. I loved Spyro.

Well this is gonna go on the ‘to buy’ list. Only played the first Spyro but looking forward to playing it again, and the other games.

This, so much. This is what I call a remake rather than a remaster. Remaster is like what you get when you see FFX HD or FFXII HD. They're not that amazing, and I avoid them entirely. Remakes, for me, don't have to have completely new gameplay. They just have to be more than a texture scrub. If they rebuild the levels from scratch, mimicking the previous version or not, I call it a remake. And I am sooooo glad about this one!

It's really straight up remaking it. I guess they are calling it a remaster because they aren't really changing any level design or anything of that nature. Just updating everything.

Yeah! This is what I always want whenever I hear about remasters. xD They always release pics of remasters and I'm like "Wait, is that it? Really?"

they did the same "remake/remaster" thing for crash. I haven't bought it yet but it's on my to-buy

I'm pretty hyped. I have been waiting to dig into a good old school charming platformer style game for a while

So hyped for this! I adored the music in this game. My biggest fear is that they'll mess it up and make it more toony.

I feel like making it more childish would be counter productive so hopefully Activision doesn't mandate that. The whole idea is a return to form to pull in those of us vulnerable to nostalgia

What's everybody favourite Spyro game ? I love the 3rd one the most I think.

Yeah, I'd agree. The third felt the most polished overall, which makes sense.

Spyro 2 was a bit too easy, I found. And the first was great, but the 3rd was super refined.

The first for nostalgic value. I can't really remember much about 2 or 3, even though I remember enjoying 3 a lot. Also, who's everyones favourite voice actor from the series? I hear the guy from 2 & 3 is returning and although he's excellent I loved the first Spyro guys voice.

Spyro isn’t fit to clean Crash Bandicoot’s Boots.

If Crash indeed wears boots, I’m not sure. Pretty sure he wears jeans though... Spyro is not fit to patch up Crash’s jeans.

I’ve only owned the first Spyro, so that is definitely my favorite for nostalgic value. I know I liked the others whenever I rented them though.

Ive seen speculation that they may be adding the other two games to the disc has that actually been verified yet?

It's Spryo, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, and Spyro Year of the Dragon. The first is the only one on the disc I guess, but the other two are downloaded as a first patch. I guess. Thoughts are that they're working on it even up to release and so the only one fully finished by the time the discs were made was the first. They had pushed the date back already so this isn't too much of a surprise. Honestly, i'd rather them have it done well than a mess cause of pushing dates too soon.

Never played Spyro, but a remaster of just one game sounds kind of trout compared to the Crash remaster and the asking price for that still sounded kind of steep to me, for just polishing up some old, very basic games. Yeah, I hear you that there's 3, but if it's only releasing with one then they're basically selling you one game and a promise.

Well they are made from the ground up to imitate the game's. They are not ports. I'm fine with delays for polish. But I don't trust Activision to put the other two in a patch. They will probably be free codes in the case. Which means no used copies, which is fine I guess, but it also means if my girlfriend and I buy it, only one of our accounts will get the sequels

Not exactly, all of the first game and part of the two sequels (a few levels, iirc) are on the disc. The rest of the sequels is in a day 1 patch.

Yeah I went in with 19 and came out with 5 lmao

Bought this on the day of release but haven't had an opportunity to play it yet because I've been so busy. Gonna spend all this weekend at it though. Can't beat that bit of nostalgia! Plus I've heard it's gotten great views.
