The archived ones are too narrowly based. Not all people want FF/Square related ones. I mean hey I'm Akuma from Street Fighter, not Sephiroth or Ultima Weapon, or Squall, or Zidan, just Akuma, I vote for keeping custom avitars alive untill they can widen the amount of Archived avitars.

Well, I guess you'd expect FF avatars from a site called Eyes on Final Fantasy.

If I didn't know that this was a joke, I'd try to strike some kind of middle-ground by suggesting that custom avatars be allowed, but require them to be linked off-site. That and add some option in the user preferences along the lines of "Replace custom avatars with a white box with avatar in black letters", so people who don't like the custom avs don't have to see them. Later, Bleys (who would inevitably be forced to add this feature) would be forced to castrate me. Yay.

I'll be using the ubiquitous blank avatar if that happens :p

With all those avatars archived, I wonder how much space it takes on the server. If it is an issue, I agree they should be removed. Id be the first one to make new avatars they removed the custom ones. If you take that away, we have to make sure we have a bit more avatars.

If that's the case, then my username is probably taking too much space so go ahead and delete that as well.

9 bytes is quite intensive if you ask me.

Custom avatars are a great idea; they can say a lot about the person using them.

After all, does anyone take Spuuky seriously now that he's using a White Mage in a cute little eared robe? Those glowing eyes in an empty void of darkness just completely summed up his personality.

Some of the default avatars are so ugly. I'm on the verge of just deleting all of them and suing BOU for some reason.

I hate all the poorly pixellated avatars. I could do so much better than those, and indeed, I have done so. :aimsun: I just don't have jacksquat for anything on NES or PlayStation >=\
