Is it just me, or have the recently-relaxed rules resulted in a colossal inundation of mind-numbingly pointless spam threads in General Chat?
It's just Bleys coming back, it'll pass.
Any spam I might've helped create has nothing to do with that announcement. :( Just a welcome back Bleys sort of thing. I don't think it'll continue for long.
It beats what we've been having for the past few months.
Akuma and vincent06 spamming back and forth is better than a few slow days?

My head is about to explode seeing some decent (not great, but decent) thread ideas like the money thread get ruined by stuff like that...
I agree with Yams. Sometimes the forums seemed a bit dreary with cynicism and such, but I thought the rule change was a good idea. But, like RSL said, when it detracts from the meaning of a real thread, it's conflictual to the rule's intended cause.
The Big Prune is coming, so people might as well get it out of their system now.
There's still the matter of things being up to individual knights' judgment. Crap threads are crap threads--It doesn't matter how the hell it's defined, we all know what they are. There will be no more loopholes.
Can you ban people just for being idiots? Because it seems that a certain person (I'm not going to place any names here, just to avoid starting a needless flame war) fits that description really firmly. He's really getting on my nerves. :S

There are several people that fits your description Aaron. Of course we could ban them for being annoying, but I really see no point doing so here. Unless many of the staff members were annoyed by someone, and the person drew the last straw, then that's another story. ;)

I supported the idea of a more relaxed set of rules for awhile, but after seeing the effects it's having here, I really don't think it's good for EoFF. Frankly I'd rather not have pruning be a requisite and have things go back to the way they were, especially since the result of this is the introduction of mindless TRIPE like this. I'm enjoying EoFF less these last couple of weeks than I have in the past.
Or maybe it's just Akumaou's INABILITY TO SHUT THE :skull::skull::skull::skull: UP that's making it hard for me to enjoy EoFF. *glare*

Yeah, "fun" threads are good, but not endless, meaningless and quite repetitive 'topics' which have no actual scope for contribution or discussion. Maybe it was more 'boring' before, but at least you didn't have to wade through a kiloton of donkey doo-doo in order to find something worth talking about. All of the sensible threads are hidden amongst the tripe, which makes the GC forum that much more difficult to navigate.
Personally, I think it was 'fun' enough before - any threads that deserved to stay open, did.
But then, that's just my opinion. Maybe I'm being too picky and uptight about the whole 'spam' thing?

We don't necessarily have to be administrators in order to decide the wellfare of a fora, it's the members of one that makes the fora. If we all left, there couldn't be an administrator in the world that could make a fora without members work. Well to be honest I spam too much for my own good, and I think its time for me to get more serious about EOFF or threads about me will start popping up...
Another source of this spam is (no offence to Vincent, Loki, or Mik) but making "worship Akuma" threads/posts look I appreciate being like and stuff but being WORSHIPPED, please, I'd rather be noticed as just that guy who made the FF8 video instead of the GOD. I'm playing along with this long enough *heads to change sig text.* All I ask is for people to quit making a big deal about me, the most that I feel should give me recognision is the Recognised member text, thats the most I ask. Akuma has never bothered me either in the slightest, just for the record. I think a lot of people are ganging up on someone for no reason at all. I thought we'd be above that kind of thing. No, he's DEMANDING to be made an RM without giving any good reasons for it. I've jokingly hinted that the staff should RM me because I've done plenty of tangible things for EoFF, even if they're probably not enough to get me RMed (which I myself will admit, and since I wasn't serious when I made the suggestion, I don't see how you can use that argument against me). Plus, I haven't been serious when I've posted in this particular forum for ages now; I thought I'd already made that explicitly clear.
