Yes, it is.
*shake shake shake* No, FF6 is better, IMO, anyway. But it is good!:D
*nod* I agree.
I wouldn't say it's the best game ever. That's a bit too much, IMHO. But FF5's still a great game. The gameplay just rules, and the battle system is the most addicting system I've ever seen in an FF game.
Your Damn Right!!!!!
:D
Glad to see you finally caught on.
Yep.
2nd favourite ff
1st favourite ff regarding challenges
4th favourite game
Well, the job class system was fun. :[/b]D
>>> If i werent blinded by FF1, I`d probably admit that FF5 is the best..
I half agree... I could never decide between FFV, and FFVI.
SO HARD TO CHOOSE...no, wait...FFVI had Kefka... shakes head violently at statement made in topic title... FFVI IS THE BEST BECAUSE KEFKA PWNZ j00
It was very enjoyable, but isn't the best. Then again we all have our own opinions.
Kefka is lame. The character that makes ff6 notable isn't Kefka anyway, it's Ultros.
Besides, ff6 is far inferior to ff5 in the "you guys sound like a self-help book" sense.
What about 'the villian is lame' sense?
FFV has gilgamesh to make up for exdeath.
They both had awesome battle music though. And Gilgamesh is CLEARLY The Man.
obv
most ff villians are lame. kefka is lame. golbez is lame. chaos is basically really dumb. sephiroth is kinda badass but still lame.
if you base the quality of a ff game on the coolness of the villian, then I guess ff9 is the best by far. It's almost the best anyway.
kuja is probably the best main villain in any ff game, yesh. kefka's almost a comedy villain though, he's definitely not a serious one. not intended to be badass at all, just thoroughly evil and hilarious.
Kuja loses all credibility since he looks like a freaking ho. I think the characterization in V was the worst of the postnes era, and so maybe that's why I didn't like it as much. Because I didn't care about the characters.
Yeah, character development was definitely lacking in this one. Makes up for it with solid gameplay. Oh, and Gilgamesh.

(yes, that's a female :p)
And I agree with DocFrance.
Five isn't my favourite, but it has some good ideas. The Job System was a little overdone, in my opinion. So many different classes that they became less distinct. If there were ten or so radically different jobs, then it would've been more interesting for me, rather than the huge number of jobs.
However, the plot's reasonably gripping, especially the back-story about (SPOILER)Enuo and the splitting of the world. Also, having an airship and submarine is always cool.
FFV also has Galuf, and tough old guys are great.
I liked the characters because they didn't pretend to be "deep" and they had a little bit of interesting backstory. Besides, they have more character than the FF1 fellows or the Onion boys.
I think Kuja is hot, anyway. Who cares what his gender is?
absolutely. they're not my favourite ff characters ever, but they don't blow chunks and don't suffer from a completely piss-poor translation (well at least on the rom, i've never played the playstation version).Quote:

and i agree on the kuja thing ;)
the job system was a bit overdone, sure, but it adds to the replayability when there's no chance of you using all the jobs adequately your first trip through. ff5 is obviously the kind of game that's meant to be replayed anyway, since the first half of the game doesn't make sense until you've played the second half of the game. chrono cross was kind of similar in that respect in that the very end of the game didn't make any sense until you replayed the whole thing. well, i guess that's the complete opposite, but each game was still a hell of a lot more fun to replay because of that. :p
FF5 is AWESOME!!! but it's not the best. the storyline is good, i absolutely LOVE ATB, and the job system, but i still like FF8 the best.
FF5 is great untill it comes to the classes, i hate dress up final fantasy
like 3 and 10-2

What I think would have made FFV fun is having the Bare class completely erased after you get your first jobs.
I bought this game on saturday. The only problem I have with this game is random fights.
1. They're way too easy
2. I get in them like every 10 seconds
3. The fights yield little money and ability points.
The things I like about this game are...
1. Job system
2. music
I have only played up to the second town so I can't really judge plot, but I think the animation when Galuf slaps everyone was hilarious.
FF5 battles arent as constant as FF1 ans 2's though. FF1+2 are just CRAZY!!! you take ONE step and you're already in battle!!!
I like the job system and I liked the music. I didn't like the random encounters because either the enemies were too hard or way too easy. Also I hated shopping in the game. All the towns should carry the same stuff after a certain point in the game. Phoenix downs and Ethers sucked because the cost so much I went broke nearly everytime I restocked. :( But eventually came the Movers enemy...
FFV is one of the great ones. I had a great time blasting through it a few years ago.
I beat this game...somehow. I had to use all my skill at the end because I made it there with only one tent and I had low levels and was screwed because going backwards to the actual world would have killed me(seriously I was that barfed up).
Awesome game.
I haven't finished it yet because I got up to a point where I realised I had been playing more snes games on my newly obtained PS2 than actual PS2 games. That and I lost interest in the game after too many random repetetive encounters.
Overall the game (plot, characters, dilogue etc) is really cheesy but that's what I liked most about it. Ooh and that little turtle guy. The job system was also really good. There are other much better FF's imho though.

Guido is one of the best features in any game ever made. That damn turtle deserved to get into the NPC chapionship finals, dammit.

1st Howd you get snes games on your ps2
2nd ff5 was probobly the best of the early ff's( i havent played 6 cause my rom craped up i this cave)the class/job system is great so is the whole mixing abilities and classes. but you only get 1 slot for abbilities thats gay.
Indeed it's one of the best FF games ever. Two great villians (Gilgamesh and X-Death, both with great music), the job-system (Bartz looks kinda silly in the Beastmaster outfit) also, three different worlds to explore. But it's hard, very hard. That's the only thing that really is stupid.
its not that hard but if you do get stuck your stuck for a while.
[QUOTE=AShadowsBlaze]They re-released FFIV, FFV and FFVI for the playstation and I've been playing them on the PS2.Quote:
