Nope, never mentioned, as I recall.
However, square has used "Gaya" for other editions of Final Fantasy, i believe.
Gaia is just the Greek for Mother Earth. I think every planet in the FF worlds are meant to be Earth anyway.
Ahh thanks guys, that really helps.
Not quite.
In the particular case of FF9, they have two planets: Gaia, the starting world, and Terra, the other one. It's not necessarily Earth all the time.
In FF8 they didn't mention a name for the planet. Not that I've seen it. Just try to put it "the world" in your fanfic. It's just an idea.
Very true Meghan. Yet 'Gaia' and 'Terra' both mean 'Earth' in Greek and Latin. Just some food for thought there.
No, FFVIII never mentions a world name. FFVII had 'the Planet', FFIX had 'Gaia' or 'Terra', FFX had 'Spira' and FFTactics had 'Ivalice' (just like FFXII will)
I'd be lying if this was certain but it may be called Gaea (spelled like that or similar not Gaia its one of the items you can refine from a character / GF card)
Hello, but does no one read! if you have a guidbook, then grab it and read the guidbook and you will notice that in there some where is the name of the planet of FF8, if you ain't got a guidbook then I'll gladly tell you. The planet is called Nete/Neet I'm not quite sure on the spelling but I know that that is what it's called.:mog:
ummm, lonely, i seen that you said it mentioned the name in the guide book.. do you mean the brady games one? cuase after seeing that, i scouredd the thing, and it never mentions the planets name.....
"Selphie and Rinoa's love nest"
Its so true Joel. :D
TogiB it's not the brady guidbook, it's the big 195 paged FF8 guidbook!:D
What is the 80 pages FF8 guidebook?
Final Fantasy 8 has a guid book which has 195 pages.
This guid book gives you heaps of information on things like how to defeat a certain monster, and it has a secrets page which gives you the answers to the seeD test! It's quite cool and it only helps you with Final Fantasy 8.
It also tells you how to get through things like, Ultimecia's castle for example it is really handy!
There is heaps more of information that is in there!
Does it come with the game? Sorry, I guess I'm asking who publishes it?
Hi,
My strategy guide is a whopping 236 pages and is published by BradyGames. The author on the cover is David Cassady. (wasn't he in a group from the 60's called the Partridge Family?) This is the only official guide I am aware of. If there are any better, please let me know. :)
Hey Lonely which page is it on? My friend says he has that one apparently....I never knew that theres one like that...hmm interesting..ive got the really really really big guide after i beat the game of course.
I think lonely means the FFVIII gaming manual that comes included.
On a side note, Neet is the village that the Black Monster burned to the ground in Legend of Dragoon. (also by Square)
ahh thats so very true. Neet, the black monster..it brings back good times. ya know I never knew that "..." Was the black monster I was so pissed...lol.
No I'm not on about the one that comes with the game, I'm on about the one you have to buy which is longer (length wise) and has much more info in it than the one you get with the game.
demonsdragon I don't get you, what page is what on?Quote:
Hey lonely whiach page is it on?
Or do you mean the step by step how to get through Ultimecia's castle, if you mean that then it starts on page: 107
sorry I know I said it had 80 pages but it's actually got 195 pages.
Again; Who publishses it? What is it called (the guides title)? Where can we get it?Quote:

Square soft published it, it's jes got Final Fantasy V111 on the front cover and a pic of Rinoa and Squall hugging, well if you have 'good' shops then I'm sure any game's store (which sells games of every kind) but like I said if it's a 'good' game's store then they should sell the FF8 guidbook!:choc:
Squaresoft didn't publish guides.
...What country do you live in?
Square soft have published guides, why who do you think publishes them?
I live in England.
Brady Games is a big guide publisher.
