New FF Creation: FF Ultimate

Well, in case you didn't know, the former Final Fantasy Supreme thread took pretty much my entire life for around a year. When it ended, I was practically heartbroken. I still yearn for that feeling...so why don't we try it again?

Well, the concept is simple: an FF game made by FFFans. We post the story, one by one. You can do whatever you want! You can add characters, kill off characters, pretty much what you want. Just don't double post. Unless you enjoy dying.

Oh, and yes...NO FLAMING. We had a slight problem with that with FFS, as people would make posts simply to criticize our plans and plots. Try to come up with a better name than FF Ultimate...I thought of it on the spot.

Well, here we go again:

The sky shook with each thunder strike. The rain poured to the ground, soaking each and every person under it. The only light in the night sky was from the flashes of lightning, which occurred every few seconds.

But the Dragoons were used to this. They trudged through the mud in their armor, across a long field. As late as it was, they were all happy to see the lights of a city in front of them. Atleast they could finally stop...for once.

Earlier in the day, their Colonel had commanded them to rise from their camp and move out. They weren't sure where they were going, or why they were going there. But as a Dragoon, you weren't allowed to challenge orders.

As the next town approached, Lander wanted to make his steps quicker...he would be able to sleep quicker then. He couldn't, though, for two reasons: Getting out of step would anger the Colonel, and well, his legs were too tired. To release his anger and frustration towards his last order, he gripped his rod tighter.

Lander laid his pack upon the ground of the inn floor. As he took off his armor, he thought of life back home. When would he see Alita again? He wondered how his sister was doing. She probably had had hundreds of boyfriends since he left. Lander had tried to keep suitors from her. But now that he was gone...

These thoughts left his mind as soon as he fell to his pad. Everything in his mind became fuzzy, and he collapsed into the world of sleep...

...However, that didn't last long. He awoke to the sound of....

A horrible screeching filled the air. The dragoons all awoke with a start. General chaos prevailed for a few minutes, but soon the well-trained dragoons organized themselves and looked around for the source of the screaming.

There was nothing in sight that could possibly cause the sound. Then, a few of their sentries came running out of the woods around them, screaming. Blood streamed down the face of some of them, and one suddenly sank to the ground as an arrow appeared in his back.

Out of the woods came a huge army of ghostly creatures, surrounding the dragoons. There was nothing to be done but pull out their weapons and wait for their inhuman assailants.

The draggons fought bravely against the ghosts, but their efforts were in vain. Most of the dragoons were not carrying any magical weapons that could harm the ethereal. The few who held such magical weapons find their fatique wearing off. The ghosts, even after defeat, came back to 'life' after a few moments.

Lander glanced around and watched as his fellow dragoons being consumed by the ghosts one after another.

"PROTECT THE KING!" shouted a voice and immediately, the remainding dragoons fell back. Lander...

Lander dashed backwards, closer to the boundaries of the cities. The ghosts...they were a pale blue, with ghastly silver eyes and sharp fingers. The ghosts began to close in on Lander. He clutched his rod closer to him, prepared to fight. "Get away, you," he said.

The ghosts were within three feet of him. He could feel their cold breath tingling across his chest. Everything seemed to get dark. He was dying...the life was being sucked out of him. "Nooo...it can't happen this way...Alita..."

Then suddenly, the feeling was gone. Life was plunged back into his soul. Everything seemed to become right and good again. Lander opened his eyes, and saw in front of him a purple flash. The ghosts saw this and backed away. The strange forcefield acted as a shield against these heathens. The ghosts eventually all disappeared into the night. Then the purple flash took shape. It became a creature, unlike anything Lander had ever seen. For legs, it had a spiraling whirlwind. Its body was primarily purple, with a smart-looking head, that ended in a black beard.

Lander was amazed by this. But then, things became dark again. "Who...are...you???"

And then he blacked out.

Lander awoke much later. He sat up groggily, trying to remember what had happened. Then, he saw the ground around him covered with the mangled bodies of dead dragoons. Everything came back to him. He jumped to his feet. "Where is the king?" he asked himself. "I am sworn to protect him. Have I failed in my duty?"

Lander immediately left the inn, and went out into the town in search of the king. As he searched, he thought to himself, "So this is why we were sent to the border. There were rumors of disturbances, but no one told us we were being attacked by anything like that ghost army. We didn't stand a chance against them."

Suddenly, Lander turned down an alleyway, and saw huge black scorch marks on the walls of the buildings to either side of him. The street was scorched completely, and pitted and bubbly, as if had melted and then solidified. The roof of one building was burning.

Lander didn't see what could have caused the burning here. The entire town was full of dead dragoons and dead townspeople, but nothing else in the town had been burned into oblivion like this alleyway. Then Lander saw another pile of bodies lying in the road.

Lander wasn't sure what it was that drew him toward the heavily burnt corpses; possibly morbid curiosity, or maybe something more. Anyway, he went over to the bodies and turned them over so he could see their faces.

What he saw made him sink to his knees in despair. The faces staring up at him were those of the king, his highest general, his chief advisor, and a strange sorceror the king had been friends with. There had been some rumors about the sorceror being involved with some strange things that the peaceful citizens of the realm normally would never associate themselves with. One thing that no one doubted was that this sorceror was very powerful, and came from a land very far away from (the kingdom they are in right now; someone else think of a name).

A lot of good all his power had done him, Lander thought bitterly to himself. He got back up to his feet dejectedly and was about to leave the town, when he saw a small, bloodred ruby wrapped in an intricate design made of silver wire lying on the ground at the sorceror's feet. He picked it up, curiously. He knew someone who had something just like this. He pocketed it, and decided to go see Alstin. Alstin lived in a tiny village in the mountains just outside the kingdom. He would go talk to Alstin about this. It probably didn't mean anything, but he couldn't think of anything else to do right now. The kingdom was being destroyed and he couldn't do anything about it. No one could do anything against these creatures. Anyway, Alstin had been a lot of strange places, and knew a lot ot strange things, and Lander had a strange hunch about this. He left the ruined town, and began walking quickly towards Alstin's home in the mountains.

Okay, now that we're starting to get this underway, I'm gonna start writing it in the play-like format that we used before.

~~A LARGE FIELD, LEADING TOWARD SOME MOUNTAINS~~
There is a light drizzle. Lander is walking, now stripped of his Dragoon helmet. While he is not sure where he is going, he spies mountains in the distance, and hopes that Alstin lives in those very mountains. And, if he continues this way, he may find his hometown, and Alita.

Lander: **thinking** Geez, how long will this walk last?
????: HEY!
Lander: Huh?

Lander turns towards the direction of the voice, and sees two men walking toward him. Both seemed around twenty-five years old. One of them had short, black hair, with gear that looked like it belonged to a mercenary. The other had long, blonde hair, and a red headband. He also seemed dressed for mercenary work.

Lander: Who are you?
Black-haired man: What you you doing here? You don't see a whole lot of people walking along this plain. 'You goin' toward the mountains?
Lander: Yeah. Why do you ask?
Blonde man: Well, that's where we're going too. What's yer name?
Lander: Lander. You?
Black-haired man: I'm Biggs.
Blonde man: I'm Wedge. Nice to meet ya.

Lander: So what exactly are you looking for in the mountains?
Wedge: Well, we're mercenaries. We'll do pretty much anything if we can get some cash off of it. Word is that there's a boss on the other side looking for some work. Supposedly pays a lot.
Biggs: So we're goin' there. You?
Lander: Wow...this will be a long story. See, I'm a Dragoon.
Biggs: Dragoon?
Lander: You know, the King's Royal Army.
Biggs: Oh, yeah.
Lander: Anyway, we were headed towards someplace, and we were attacked by these things...I still don't know what they are. They seemed to be phantoms of some sort.
Wedge: Bah! There's no such things as phantoms.
Lander: Yeah, well, that's what I thought. They attacked us. Sadly, I ran. Errr...I tried to. They killed everyone. Including the King.
Biggs: Are you %@#$(! serious?
Lander: Yeah. Along with just about everyone important. Anyway, I was cornered by them. Then...something happened. They started to do something to me, and I'm not sure what. It was like they were eating my soul. Everything was dark. But then...something came. It saved me. I'm not sure what it was. It saved me. The ghosts disappeared.
Wedge: Weird.
Lander: Yeah. Anyway, I explored the town, and I found this. **pulls out ruby**. It was at the feet of that sorcerer that the King is always by. It's just like something my friend Alstin has. He lives by the mountains. Unfortunately, he's on the other side. So I've gotta go all the way through.
Wedge: Well, we'd be happy to help you through.
Lander: Thanks.

**continue onward until they reach the mountain**

Lander: So how are we gonna go about this?
Biggs: I don't know. We can go over or under.
Lander: Really, there's a path under the mountain?
Biggs: Yeah. Me and Wedge have been here hundreds of times. Both ways.
Wedge: Yeah, which one do you wanna go through?

Lander: Let's go under. The sooner I can get to Alstin, the better. Who knows? The fate of the kingdom might rest on this?

Biggs: Uh huh, whatever. Let's go. You do know your way around in a fight, right kid?

Lander: Yeah, I do. I AM one of the King's Royal Dragoons after all.

Wedge: I thought the king was dead.

Lander: Don't remind me. Anyway, my point still stands. I do know how to fight. Besides, why does it matter? I'm not going to be fighting anyone up here.

Biggs: Kid, if you thought the Dragoons were tough fighters, you'll be in big trouble in those mountains. Why do you think your kingdom never has any wars? Because they couldn't stand up for a day against any real army. And you'd better be ready to fight in those mountains, cause there's some serious monsters up there.

The three of them continue on their way. They soon reach a dark cave.

Biggs: Here we go. Be ready for anything under here.

The party enters the cave. They fight a few fairly tough random encounters. Biggs and Wedge are much stronger than Lander, but the enemies are easily their equal. After a while of slowly finding their way through the maze-like cave, they come to an underground river with a bridge crossing it. On the other side is a very old-looking stone door. The party tries to cross the bridge, but a monster leaps up from under the bridge and smashes through it.

*Boss Fight*
Granite Fiend

The boss is a huge, many legged creature that vaguely resembles a preying mantis, but made of stone, and with razor-sharp crystal blades in place of hands. It is fairly tough, but not overly so. The party beats it, and it runs away. They start to leave but suddenly it leaps back out at them. They are unconscious and about to be killed when two people run in through the door.

*FMV*One of them is a mysterious, middle-aged man. The other is a young, pretty, and extremely tough-looking woman. The two attack the monster, the man using a combination of magic and magic-assisted physical attacks, and the woman using a whip with a knife-blade on the end. The woman scoops up Lander and Wedge and runs, and the man picks up Biggs and follows, still fending off the monster.

The party awakens in a small house in the mountains. The man is in the house with them.

Lander: Thank you for saving us.

Mysterious Man: No problem, Lander.

Lander: How do you know my name sir?

Mysterious Man:*Laughing*How could I forget you Lander? Oh, and by the way, the name's Alstin.

Weapon of Choice: Chandar (similar to a short sword, but with two glowing prongs on the end that help absorb and focus magic; fairly weak normal attack, but allows a variety of powerful special attacks.)

OOC:	Dragonflame: Just wondering, I thought Lander already knew Alstin? Why did Alstin have to introduce himself? Oh well...I'll play with it a bit.

Lander: Oh, heya, Alstin. I hoped to find you here...**looks over at girl**...Alita???!!!

Alita: Yeah, Lander, it's me.

Lander: What are you doing here?!

Alita: Heh heh...it's kind of a long story...by the way, I met your friends.

Biggs and Wedge are practically drooling over Alita, Lander's sister.

Lander: Biggs! Wedge! Watch it!

Biggs: **shakes head** Right.

Lander: Alita, what are you doing here?

Alstin: That would be my doing. Lander, before your father died, he entrusted me with watching your family. Your father was my best friend, and I was not going to let him down. So, after you left to be with the Dragoons, I found Alita. She has been under my care for now seven months. And that's that. Now why have you seeked me?

Lander: Wow...**begins story about Ruby**

...my father told me about that ruby. I know he only died when I was three, but he told me that you had one that looked like this. So I came here.

Alstin: Show it to me.

Lander: **pulls out ruby**

Alstin: Hmmm...Lander, do you know how I received MY ruby?

Lander: No.

Alstin: Well...

OOC:	I was trying to get across the point that Lander hasn't seen Alstin in a while, and doesn't recognize him. Or maybe he doesn't really remember what he looks like. I don't know. Anyway, it's not important.

OOC:	Anyone else please feel free to post at any time. It gets very boring just having two or three people doing this.

Alstin: ...the king's sorcerer, I was his apprentice for a while. He was scrying one day as usual, you see, in his lab. But this time, he seemed rather troubled at whatever he saw...

*FMV*
Sorcerer: Alstin.

Young Alstin: Yes, master? What do you see?

Sorcerer: I've taught you before, the ends of time, how things end.

Alstin: Yes, master.

Sorcerer: The doom of the peace we uphold is...nigh.

Alstin seemed a little taken aback by the news, but he understood.

Alstin: Yes, master. I understand.

Sorcerer: You do not understand enough.

Alstin: Then, pray, teach me more.

Sorcerer: I...cannot, yet. Something, some evil, blocks my vision. But I fear much for our kingdom.

Alstin: A target, master?

Sorcerer: Probably.

Alstin: But what army can defeat the king's dragoons?

Sorcerer: Well trained as they are, there is still always a stronger opponent.

Alstin: What do you suggest, master, that could take down the king's army?

Sorcerer (laughing): Believe me, Alstin. If I were to betray my kingdom, I could easily wipe the whole castle of dragoons given time. Perhaps...I could conjure a massive meteor, enchant the entire kingdom with slumber, sap the dragoon's bravery, turning them into spineless cowards...ANYTHING!

Alstin: ... (the famous FF sentence:P)

Sorcerer: You overestimate our dragoons. Soon, everything I worked for the kingdom would sink into oblivion. Except...

Alstin: Except?

Sorcerer: Heh, nothing...you had better get to sleep.



Alstin: what's going on, master?

Sorcerer (rising from his prone position, a red jewel in hand): Aha!

Alstin: What that, master?

Sorcerer: In time, you'll find out. I'm sending you away, into the country, the desert, anywhere! (hands Alstin the ruby) but do NOT lose this.

Alstin: But why?

Sorcerer: A wizard should take every precaution in his work. Maybe the doom of the kigdom will happen decades later, but bear in mind that it will come! I'm not risking anything that should happen in between that time.

Alstin: But...

Sorcerer: Just remember, 'Two of a kind, make all the difference. Two man, two jewels, and one of pure heart, together they shall change the fate, when good begins to abate.' (At least, that's the main point, but Alstin can't remember the poem very well)

*FMV stops*

Alstin: That jewel, I believe, is a fake...the other one is still out there.

OOC:	I thought dragoons use spears, why is he using a rod?

OOC:	When I say rod, I pretty much mean like a two-sided spear. Like Zidane used, just cooler looking. You can still use it as a spear.

Lander: Huh? How could this jewel be a fake? I took it directly from the sorcerer. Hey, uh...what was his name?

~~NAME SELECTION (Default: Simien)~~

Alstin: That I am not sure of. One would assume that these two crystals mean something quite important. Perhaps...someone...somewhere...wants the other crystal. If they were to find a fake, and not know that it was, in fact, fraudulent, they could end their search.
Lander: But what exactly do these crystals mean?
Alstin: My boy, I am not sure. However, we must head to the Capitle (purposely spelled that way, it's the name of the town). We must inform them of the King's death, and prepare for Prince Brazen's coronation. Perhaps there, in Simien's lair, we may find more information. So, shall we depart?
Lander: Right.
Alstin: Alita? Are you coming?
Lander: What?! No. She is not coming. I won't let her be in danger.
Alstin: Lander, that is exactly why she must come. Leaving her here will only put her in danger. Perhaps in the Capitle we can find her safety. But we all must come.
Lander: ....very well.

~~CHOOSE 4 PARTY MEMBERS (Lander Required)~~

*Fade to black*

WORDS FLASH:
Two of a kind make all of the difference
Two men, two jewels, and one of pure heart,
Together they shalt change the world's fate,
When all that is good begins to abate.

The party (who were the 4 chosen?) headed towards Capitle after equipping themselves at the mainstore of Alstin's village.

Deciding this time to venture over the mountain, they come accross numerous weak monster encounters, which are easily slaughtered. Neat the base of the mountain they see a yellow chocobo and its rider being over run by wolves.

The party rush down to help. The had medium length brown hair, about 5"10', and 150lbs of pure muscle weilding a large blade.

***Boss: Were-Bones***
15ft, moves: Bone crush, bonerang (sorry if that sounds..you know)
Nullifies magic

The wolves seem simple enough to beat, but the rider tells them not to defeat them all, but in due haste to rescue the rider Lander finishes og the last wolf, and is thought to of brought safety upon them all. But the bones render up and create a large Wolf skeleton.

Rider: I said not to kill'em all, now look wot i'm going to have to do...

The rider suddenly starts to change form. His skin turned a dark red, and all hair grew black and doubled in length. Also did his body muscle and height. After this magnificent transformation he was still a few feet smaller then the Were-Bones, at 11", but muscles ripped out.

The rider and boss interlocked in batlle, and after a long stare the others decided to help. Alstin, after realising his magic did not work, decided to be the healer for the round. With Wedge, Biggs and Lander doing so little damge to those blows that did hit. the large red beast overthrew the boss and grinded each bone.

After the battle scene the rider became normal, but was really fatigued. and so came the introductions.

Lander: To think we came down to save you.
Biggs: Yes, that was amazing.
Alstin: What power, I was taught such transformation had been forgotten, but you seem to have read history and bought back this iuncredible power.
Wedge: *gobsmacked, still gawping at the rider*
Alita:Well, Hi! My name is Alita, this is Lander, Wedge, Biggs *as she points them off* and my fianc... eh hem other friend Alstin. And your name is?

Lander went to say something but thought not to at the time.

Rider: (in a not caring voice) Dart

Name: Dartanyun
Age: ?
Hair:brown
Eyes:hazel
Weapon: Double handed blade
Job: Rogue

Dart:Thanks for the unneeded help, i had it all down til you *points at Lander* disobeyed an order, u have the crest of the king on ur right arm, arnt you supposed to be following orders. The wolves seemed to be hungry for my chocobo.
Lander: Hey now, I..I...sorry...
Dart: Dont sweat. So where are you guys heading.
Lander: Capitle, to announce bad news for the kingdom and give ALITA hear a safe haven.
Dart: wot kinda news?
Alstin: The king was found dead along with his closest courtsmen, including the great sorceror Simien.We have to...
Dart: Wot?...I saw hime travel these plains not a day ago?
Lander: Impossible, i saw him with my own 2 eyes, burnt to death.
Dart: hmmm... i dont know then, but i swear it was him, he and some blue suited soldiers had burned down my village years ago, i and him **points to choc* and a few others survived , and i could never forget a face of a man so evil.
Lander: But he was in the Kings high councel.
Dart: As much as you now I want to get to the bottom of this.
Alstin: Then join us, please, we will inform Capitle, then investigate from there. I need to know of this crystal too *shows dart* and see if Landers is real or not.
Dart:Sure *turns to the chocobo* i must let you be free now, head to the nearest ranch a mile south of here, i shall travel on foot. we'll see each other again *kisses it, then it sprints off* well lets go, i know of all these lands having traveled them the last 3 yrs alone... the best way is north east.
ALL:ok

Lander's party with their new friend sets off in the direction Dart has pionted out.

Dart thinking... This boy they call Lander, could it be the boy from the many pages i've read *feels around in pouch* no...

Walking downhill is a lot more difficult than the party imagined, aside from Lander, who wishes to jump down, and Dart, who had roamed the parts of the mountain.

The sight was breath-taking, absolutely refreshing to the eyes. Dart pointed at a small dot on the huge plains below the mountain.

Dart: Capitle.

Alstin: Capitle...it's been many years...Master Simien...

Lander: Peaceful as this land seemed, something feels...disturbing.

Alstin (stepping forward): This land reeks of evil...and that scent is fresh.

Wedge: I dunno...seemed pretty ordinary to me.

Biggs: Me too.

Alstin: Something's wrong, not right at all (turns to Dart).

Dart: Aye, now that you mention it, I didn't feel this way before.

Alstin: But no matter, we shall pitch camp once we reach the ground. I've brough some ration for us, but not quite enough. someone has to hunt for animals or seek berries, which the former seemed more likely in such a vast plains.

Lander: I'll go seek the animals along with Dart

Dart: I don't know. You don't seem trustworthy, and you proved that point eariler.

Lander: But...

Alstin: Hush, we must get going.

The party travelled towards the foot of the mountain without much distraction. After travelling for a while while the sun sets, they decided to camp and use the light from the sun before it hides its face. Lander and Dart goes to hunt some animals.

While hunting...

Lander: This sure is taking a long time.

Dart: Quiet, you'll scare the food...

Lander: I don't see any food around here.

Dart: Ah, but dey can hear you from distances away!

Lander (stops): hold on, what's that? (points)

Dart (gasp): A FEAST!

Lander: ???

Dart: A brown bear! Haven't you heard of it?

Lander: Eh...what's that?

Dart (makes an irritated look): ...

*FIGHT BROWN BEAR*
They won easily and headed back to camp.

OOC:	Hey, we're now up to 4 people posting.

~~CAMP~~
When Lander and Alstin return to the camp, you have the choice of continuing to practice the art of hunting, or sleeping for the night.

**SLEEPING**

[FMV]Lander is awoken during the night. He looks all around him, and sees the same ghosts as before.

Lander: Huh?

He looks all around him, but Alstin, Alita, Biggs, Wedge, and Dart are all gone. The ghosts near him. He backs up.

Lander: What's going on?

Lander draws his rod, and backs away.

Lander: What do you want with me? Why do you keep following me?

Ghost: **in a whisper**
Two of a kind make all of the difference
Two men, two jewels, and one of pure heart,
Together they shalt change the world's fate,
When all that is good begins to abate.
[fmv]

Lander awakes. It was all a dream.

~~THE NEXT MORNING~~

Lander tells no one of the dream.

**CHOOSE 4 PARTY MEMBERS**

The group goes to the world map, and they can continue onwards to Capitle. The city is incredibly large, separated into eight districts (similar to Midgar/Lindblum). Like most other cities, it is both medieval and technological, in an odd mix. Sort of hard to explain. The city is made of castle-like stone, yet they use guns as well as swords. The group enters the city.

Alstin: Wow. It's been so long since I've been here.
Dart: Heh heh. How lovely. So many pockets to pick, so little time.
Lander: Right. Me and Alstin have gotta head for the Castle. Alita, you should come too. Maybe we can find you some place to go.
Biggs: Well, Lander, this is our stop. So, I guess this is goodbye. Me and Wedge will head out and find the money. Seeya.
Lander: Seeya. Maybe we'll meet each other again.
Wedge: Well, as this is a Final Fantasy game, I can practically guarantee it.
Lander: Huh?
Wedge: **chuckles** Never mind. Seeya.

Biggs and Wedge depart. Dart also leaves, leaving Lander, Alstin, and Alita to go to the castle. You can visit all of the other districts, and buy weapons and items/etc. but nothing happens until you visit the castle.

OOC:	Anyway, I gotta go, stupid band calls. I'll post sometime tonite.

Side part: Dart having the group thought he left, decides to put on his cloak and follow them, since he also needs to find out about these crystals and how Simien is alive if it really was him he saw. The nearer the group got to the castle the less conjucted the streets became, making it harder for him to remain unseen. Noticing again as he had before his pouch started to glow if he got near Alstin, but not Lander, although he could swear it was meant to be Lander all these times in the books he read...

Lander, Alita and Alstin finally reach the castle. They head through the courtyrad where they are suddenly stopped by the gaurads.

Guard 1:Halt! Who goes there.
Alstin: We are accompanying Lander, the last of the Kings Dragoon Warriors. The King has been slain and we are here to tell the news.
Guard 2: This is old news to us. The great Sorceror Simien has already came with this news and Prince Brazen has already been made King.
Lander: But Simien...
Alstin: Don't question this now
Guard 1: And as for you then, Lander, you are to be jailed.
Lander: What? why?
Guard 2: As new king of this realm, King Brazen has ruled all Dragoons be killed or captured and jailed.
Alita: But why? thats imposterous
Alstin: Yes it is, we shall not let you take our friend.
Guard 1: Then you all shall be taken away...GUARDS!

5 more guards come running from there stand points ready to take on the group. A small battle took place in the courtyard, and it had seemed Lander's group was to fail.

Then suddenly in a blaze of light a 2 handed swordsman came to their aid. It had been Dart, who was there standing virtually invisible. The group suddenly had their energy revamped and fought at full strength.

Dart: No do not fight, flee back to the market place.
Lander: But yourself.
Dart: Do not worry, I fight for no cause, but you... I believe their is something about you. Everyone meet in the inn called Slopin in section Unswere. But for now split up, the Kings guards will be looking for all of us now, including me if I can get out of this.

During this time Alstin was doing some kind of ceromonial dance.

Alstin: Cover your eyes.

They did so, and a flash of white light blinded the guards.

Alstin: Its only temporarily, run now, we shall meet at 9.

Everyone splitted up and ran in different directions.

OOC:I should of maybe eleborated on Darts character. Educated under Simien, he read many books and scriptures. Some taught him the necesities of bringing back the great transformations (hence his red beast form) and others told him of a prophecy, the song, and of the crystals. He was given the other crystal by Simien who had hoped that with Darts new power could be useful in bringing down the world. But Dart refused such doings and fled home. His town of course was burned down years ago by Simien and a group of his blue armoured soldier, hence are now the blue ghost. Since then he has traveled the lands wondering of the prophecy, singing the same song to himself:

This would of came up later on as the story progressed but i thought maybe ti should be known now before Dart just leaves the picture...unless you want him to. :(

The party splits up, and now a mini-game begins. You have to make it to the Inn that Dart informed them of, but dodging guards constantly. This is done first-person like, so it's not easy. You must do it with all four characters. When that it done, you all meet in the upper room of the inn.

Lander: Okay, so what the hell is going on?

Alstin: Yes. Dart, what exactly is?

Dart: Perhaps...I should start from the beginning, and do an incredibly long explanation.

Dart: A long time ago, I studied under the magician Simien. He granted me a crystal. With it, along with its mate, we could together conquer the world. He expected me to be something I'm not. I never wished to rule the world. I refused, and fled for my life, taking the crystal with me. Simien burned my village and all who were in it. I was left with nothing. However, I learned many things while I studied with him. But most importantly, I learned of the prophecy.

Lander: The prophecy?

Dart: I believe you already know it.
Two of a kind make all of the difference
Two men, two jewels, and one of pure heart,
Together they shalt change the world's fate,
When all that is good begins to abate.

Alstin: Yes. The sorcerer...he told me that.

Dart: You...you studied under Simien also?

Alstin: Yes...I did.

Dart: I will allow you to explain later. However, I must continue my story. Anyway, this prophecy has been known by only the most wise for many years. No one knows what it means, or when will it occur. However, Simien convinced me that the jewel he granted me could allow us to rule the world. Because I possessed a jewel, I was granted my transformation into the Red Beast.

Alstin: Wait...I have possessed a jewel, yet I do not have such power.

Dart: It also requires much training, both mentally and physically. However, there is more.

These two gems...bringing them together unlocks a mystical power. This is the power of the Yajuu (one Japenese pronounciation of 'monster'). These creatures...they possess incredible power. However, only a select few can control their power. Simien wished to use them to dominate the earth. However, their power could supply us with a chance to figure out what it going on here.

Lander: Wow...that's a lot of information.

Dart: Correct. *pulls out crystal* Shall we continue?

Alstin: Yes. We must. We must find out what these...Yajuu are all about.

They decide to try and sneek into Simiens chamber in the dead of night, then have Alstin tell his story. They stay very much undercover, still being looked for by the kings guards.

While walking Dart thinks... Why is it me and Alstin have the crystals? Do we give them to Lander? Do I tell him the world is in his hands? No...I will keep mine til further ado, I do not trust this boy yet, he has not proved to me how great a warrior he is. And why are the Kings guards after the dragoons? Maybe... no way

Dart: I have come to believe Simien is controlling Brazen!
All : What?
Dart: Think about it. Brazen was loyal to his father, and was also training to be a dragoon, but why would he be after them now his father is dead? Simien knows a power Lander produced made his ghost army flee. He knows Lander is part of the Dragoons and is the only one who can defeat Simien.
Lander: I have no idea though of how that purple mist came to be.
Dart: True... maybe we can find something out in Simiens lair, there must of been something that unlocked your power.
Alstin: And what of mine, and the transformation?
Dart: I'm sorry, you may never reach the age to have studied and trained to have such power.
Alstin: But you, I look as old as nealry you, yet you have this power.
Dart: Another story I wish not to tell. When we get to Simiens lab I shall, after yours.
Lander: umm... wheres Alita?

They look around, and discover that Alita is nowhere to be seen.

Alstin: She was here just a minute ago, wasn't she?

Dart: Yeah, I thought so. She did come back to the inn with us, right?

Lander: Yeah, she was with us 'til just a minute ago...

Suddenly, Lander sinks to his knees. Alstin and Dart look at him in surprise, then Lander somehow melts into the floor and vanishes.

Alstin: What the...

Alstin cuts off, as he falls to the ground too. Dart suddenly runs out of the room as Alstin finishes disappearing.

Lander and Alstin find themselves in a dark, dirty prison cell. Both are surprised to see that Alita is there too. Then a voice comes from somewhere in the hallway outside the cell.

Mysterious Voice: Did you really think you could escape me so easily? I am the most powerful sorceror in the world-catching you was pathetically easy. Alstin, I'm ashamed of you. After all the time I spent teaching you, you still don't even know how to recognize or fight a simple Calling Spell.

Alstin: Simien?

Simien: Yes, it is I. I've been waiting for you to come here. It's sad how easy it is to predict what people will do.

Lander: But I saw you dead.

Simien: Oh yes, you're that one dragoon that survived my massacre. Yes, I do think I did a good job of faking my death. It was funny to watch you as you explored that town. And you played your part perfectly. I believe that crystal you found by my "corpse" should be just about finished now. Soon all your power will be stripped away, and I will be able to add it to my own. And you will be able to join my army of the undead. I believe you may recognize a couple of them from a battle you fought in rather recently.

Lander: What?

Simien: Yes, that's what those crystals do, you see. They strip away a person's life force. Then when the victim's life force is completely removed, I get to take it for myself. Nice, isn't it. That's how I grew so powerful in the first place. And you will be an extra special prize. Remember that being that rescued you in the battle against my undead? That is called a Wystan. They are a race of incredibly powerful magical beings that sometimes choose to share their power with certain special humans. You were lucky enough to be chosen. And now, when that crystal is stealing your life force, it's also taking the life force of that Wystan. That power will make me greater than ever.

Alstin: What about my crystal? Is it doing the same thing to me?

Simien: Oh, no. That crystal is one of a much more powerful set of crystals that has the ability, among other things, to take the life force from the entire world.

*While looking around for some way out Lander sees a window, high above with the sun pouring though. The weird thing is there is the shape of a human like creature with wings and.... a shotgun???*
Lander: *whispers* Alstin look up there. Do you know what that is?
Alstin: I have no idea!!
Monster(While gently floating down.): I'll be taking those crystals.
Simien: BLAST!! You again.
Monster(Facing shotgun at Simien): You thought I was that easy to get rid off. HA. (Fires the gun.)
*Simien ducks, rolls and runs.*
Monster(after untying Lander & Alstin): Lets hurry grab the crystals and lets get outta here.
Alstin: Who are you?
Monster: Jack Valentine.(As he turns into a normal person.)
Lander: OK. Again who are you?
Jack: I'm a bounty hunter who is after these crystals, among other things.
Lander: And your a monster.
Jack: No, I am the son of a gentic(sp?) experiment. You may not of noticed but a minute ago I had wings fangs and claws, but not anymore. Anyway lets get the hell outta here. My ships at the docks. We have to find 7 other crystals and take them to the center of the world.
Alstin: That sounds so cheesy. And how comes theres a window underground? And why have I played a game thats remarkerby like this?
Jack: Oh yeah, I bet in your game there wasn't a giant meteor coming to destroy the world. And that giant creatures called weapons are flying around. Yeah right. Lets go.

Dragonflame, I'm not sure if I conveyed my point in my post, but the Yajuu are the Summons/GFs/Espers/Eidolons/Aeons/blahblahblah. Not that big of a deal, but I like my name better. So bleh. Change that to "The being that saved you is a Yajuu." That being just happens to be Jinn, the wind monster. Too tired to post. And I've got a lot of notecards to do for English class.

Okay, whatever. I forgot there was already a name for the summons/gfs/eidolons/espers/etc.

They all bust out through the door and run through the castle. Jack runs with amazing speed ahead of the group, and only dart can keep up. They fight small random encounters until they get to the entrance where they stop to see Simien standing in front of the door.

Simien: You shall not leave.
Jack: Last time you got lucky, there will not be a second time.
Simien: Don't flatter yourself, just die.

At that Simien throws a fire ball at the party and Jack easily knocks it away. Angered Simien then waves his arms in an unagreeable way and raises them into the air to pull out black ghosts out of the the ground. The party gets ready to defend themselves.

There were only three of them, but still the fight was ridiculous. None of the weapons the party possessed could harm their etherealness.

Lander: Curses! I can't seem to touch these things!

Alstin (chanting): Stand back. everyone!

A shock of ice entrapped one of the ghosts and crashed, casuing the ghost to whine and disappear. Alstin began to laugh at the weakness of the monsters.

Alstin (still fighting): Ha! Is that all you can muster Simien?! *lets go a fireball and destroys another ghost*

Simien: Alstin, I could kill you with one word if I want to.

Alstin (destroying one more ghost): Then why don't you do it?!

Simien: No, I need you to take care of Lander. Time is of the essence and the world is crippling.

Alstin: Because of you!

Simien (laughing): Ignorance has always been your specialty, Alstin. It's very simple actually. A prophecy made centuries ago predicted the fall of good at this age, but no, not by my hands. By something, or someone, else.

Alstin: Who? How?

Simien: I do not know, but whatever it is, it will destroy the world of its good. Basically, I'm trying to stop it. Do you understand?

Alstin: No.

Simien (sighing): You have two options. To let me have the world, or to let the prophecy take place. You see, only I, the most powerful sorcerer of the realms, stand a chance against such power.

Alstin: How do I know that you are not lying?

Simien: You know I'm not.

Alstin hesitated. Simien is not a guy to joke around with such matters, and besides, he rarely lies. Anyway, Alstin still know that what he said is true through research back when he was Simien's apprentice.

Alstin: What do you want?

Simien: I got a series of task to...guide you.

Lander: Wait. How do we know that we can trust you?

Simien: How do I know if I could trust *YOU*?

Lander opened his mouth, but no words came out. Alstin gave a look of 'silence' and asked Simien for the tasks at hand...

Xardus appears on the scene and watches the fight. He sits down and watches some more. he finds nothing unusual with the scene and closes his eyes...he puts his scythe over his back and waits for something unique to happen.

*an hour later*...

Xardus is still sitting there. Lander, Alstin, and Simien look at him, and continue fighting.

A wind starts to blow, causing Xardus's hair to blow like a tuff in a daisy field.

He still sits there.
