Ice-cream vans
Do you guys get these coming round where you live?
(In case you don't know they are vans that go around streets playing music and stopping, selling ice-creams)
I heard one today and it's the middle of February - and not really ice-cream eating weather o_O They always seem to be around here at the strangest times of the year.
-
I do in the summer, sometimes. They don't come on my block though, probably cause theres a mean lady who yells on my block. She scares them away, I think. I wish they came around here in Febuary.

It's been a while since I was anywhere an ice-cream truck would venture, but I remember them, sure. I haven't had an ice-cream for ages. I want an ice-cream. :aimcry:

There's a ice cream van that stays in one place on along my route to lectures during the summer. It hasn't showed up yet. It's not consistantly warm enough.
-
WHOA! This is scary, as my current MSN name is "Ice Cream Vans are my bane. They want me dead, you see"
Which is pretty coincidental. I put that up on Saturday when I heard one (with the Popeye theme playing) pretty much circling my house.
So basically, yeah.
-
We have thsoe here, only they aren't so much vans, as they are jeeps with freezers on them. So they neve come around untill the winter.
-
The one by my old middle school used to sell cigarettes for $1 a piece. :)
-
Nope we dont ahve any of that stuff up here. Not enough people.
-
I haven't seen one in quite a while :p
-
I like those things. It's how I know its five thirty on summer days.
-
There's one that circles our neighborhood and plays Turkey in the Straw over and over. I feel so bad for whoever has that job. :(
I'd never buy ice cream from one, though... who knows how good the freezing system is or how old the ice cream is?
-
>>> There is no civilization where I live..
So, no Ice-cream vans for me..
-
There is no ice cream vans here in Philippines, but there are lots of ice cream tricycles plying on large footpaths and small streets. There are so many ice cream tricycles especially in April, May and June, where the weather is hot.
-
They used to come around here all the time. I don't know what happened to them though. *sniffles*
-
We used to have a Mr Whippy ice cream van that always use to come down my street, he use to play this little tune that scared me for some reason. anyways now that i have moved i never see him anymore, but i did see him for the first time in like forever by Western Springs... still playing that scary tune! *shudders*
But i do miss the times when i use to find any spare change i had so i could buy an ice cream from Mr Whippy... vanilla ice cream with a chocolate flake in it.. too yummy =D

Ice cream bikes are fun. I miss Ice Cream vans. The closest thing is a giant hunking ice cream truck permanently parked in downtown toronto.
-
We used to have one at my old house, but there are none around here. I miss their music. ;_;
TRA-LALALA-LALA-LAAAAA!
-
-
They're all over the place in the summer. Most of them don't speak english though.
-
None go by my new house. I don't remember the last time I bought ice cream from a truck. I've never seen a van, though.
-
I've never seen one in my life. I don't think Iowa has them.
-
Argh there is one that goes down my street every summer day *eye twitches in anger* Yeah it plays this stupid little song..blah blah can you tie em in a knot can ya tie em in a bow blah blah annoying as hell. Argh. *Gets gun*
-
What?
There used to be some in my town, but I don't know what happened to them now. I miss the music and the stalking. *sigh*
-
I used to get paid to drive it.
-
Yeah, we have them in our neighborhood, especially in the summer. We live in a new subdivision, so there's a lot of construction going on and the ice cream van preys on the unsuspecting construction workers. What bugs me though is that the ice cream van plays this obnoxious tune that's really short over and over and over at a really loud volume and it gets so annoying. :aimmad:
-
Yeah, We have one driving around my neighbourhood... It's called 'Hjem is bilen'... And when translated the name means: 'The Home Ice Car'... Yeah, I know... it's silly... But it has ICE!!! :D
-
We had like 3 different vans coming to our neighborhood selling ice cream in the late spring and summer and one played the Pop Goes the Weasel song and my mom got so pissed at the song she went up to the van and told him not to come anymore so we lost a truck :( but we had two others so it wasn't a big problem.
-
When I was 7 we had an ice cream truck that ran through the neighborhood everyday. I never had any money so I never could buy any ice cream :(:( I used to always run to it and watch the other kids buy ice cream though. One day he gave me some free jolly ranchers (the little square ones) and I was SO happy. That guy was my hero.
Another time when I was 17 I was driving down a road with my girly Cher, and this girl Nichi to pick this other girl up and we saw an ice cream truck going down a side road. I stopped the truck immediatly where it was and we all jumped out and bought ice cream. It was fun :)
