I registered here about 3 years ago, and stuck around for about a year and half. I wasn't all that well known, sure, but hey, I racked up quite a few posts. Now, I come back, and I had to reregister. It's as if I never existed.

You gotta post to exist.
We usually don't delete the accounts of members who've ever posted at least once. Who knows though.
Well, I was a frequent poster when I was here. I think I was on the top 25 for a few seconds one time. But, hey, I'll just stick with this.
Shlupquack boo-booed a prune a few weeks back :D
What was your previous name, was it Rei or was it some other name?
Don't you keep logs of what you do? Prune = deleting an account, right? Well you can remake accounts and add the post count or whatever right :p?Quote:

It's be nice if the logs were that detailed :p I think vB3's are more detailed than 2's anyway (not sure if they're detailed enough as to list every user deleted in a mass pruine though), but even then, restoring accounts isn't something easy to do.
I think user accounts are deleted once the member gets married or something.
*shrug*
Restoring accounts is pretty limited, right? You can't change the...user number (ie: Dr Unne is #2), but you can change the join date. Anyway Rei's got his account back so whatever :p
Yeah, it was Rei. But, hey, it's all good.
You can likely change a user's id # if you directly alter the database. And you'd likely seriously mess crap up doing so. Restoring deleted accounts is likely impossible short of doing a full database restore from a backup.
Besides, nobody knows what your username and post counts were, so who cares?
I remember a Rei from a very long time ago. Everyone's post count is 0 now, so it doesn't matter. The only other bits of information that makes a user account unique is the registration date (I can change that), username (I can change that), other profile information (you can change those yourself), the posts you've made (most if not all of those have likely have been pruned by now), and user ID number in the database (not at all important to anyone).
I had the Sephiroth with the orange background and red drunk, embarrassed, or whatever lines on his face. I hung around the old FF's a lot, was, I admit, a wee bit insensitive.
Well, it doesn't really matter any more, does it? I suppose it's better to start anew anyway.
In the database itself though, the userid is the main, and only, unique identifier for users. The username field isn't marked as having to be unique for some reason, I guess vB takes care of that instead to prevent users with the same name.
Hang on, if you're not the Rei Rei, then who are you?
Are you the Mederu/Tiffiekins/whatever other names she's used Rei or a completely different Rei?
I remember you!
Rainecloud: No, this is a different Rei. In fact, I think he's a he.
It's actually not very hard; you just have to know the user's old ID number and then you can transfer all PMs, posts, and whatever by that user to the new userid. I've done it several times. It's still a pain in the arse though.Quote:

And yes, this Rei is male. And I remember him. Welcome back, btw.
You are assuming you've not done any admin maintenance in the mean time though, as that could delete PMs/edit the userid on "floating posts" to 0 so you can't link them back to the original user.
I am indeed male, and thanks, Man.
Dude, I totally remember Rei. He was a badass.
I don't *feels stupid or left out* :(
Well, Poster Formerly Known As Pureghetto, if I remember right, you stayed around Eyes on Each Other a lot, and that place is, like, the anti-me. So, you wouldn't.
