Yeah, sometimes I get those from typing too much. :(

I have a muscle cream that works fine ass.

Drink lots of water, take a pain reliever (advil, ibuprofen, etc...), and be sure to keep working out that muscle. If you got sore muscles from doing pushups, do some more pushups.

Beat me to it. :p
Just do more strenuous physical activity if you have muscle tissue damage. This rebuilds the damaged muscle fibres that are causing the pain in the first place.
To avoid it, I always warm down well, to fully drain the lactic acid from my muscles after activity.
Yes, what Doc and Face have said. Keep working those muscles, but not overworking them.
In order not to get muscles that are too sore in the first place though if you've been working out, make sure you take the time to cool down and move around just by walking, etc. instead of just sitting down and relaxing. I don't have the specific information in front of me, but the muscle's reaction to a sudden stop after exercise is to get sore. :)
It's because after you exercise some protein forms on the muscle tissue and if you just sit down the protein will prevent oxygen from flowing throughout your muscle. At least that's what I remember from Health class.
Yams hit the nail on the head.
Walk it off.
Don't exercise in the first place, problem solved.
Tiger Balm.
Michael Chang!!!
i like having sore muscles. it's like your reward for hard work.
If your muscles hurt from exercise, then spend a good long time stretching after your workout, before you've had a chance to cool down. Works for me. I recently did an army obstacle course and forgot to stretch; everything hurt like billio for a week.
Yeah, I did that a week ago and I've only just stopped hurting. I hate being impaitient.
I guess I have nothing to add. Streching before and ESPECIALLY after your workout is the key. And it gives better shape to muscle in a long run. And yes, after every serie drink water.
You could always also use those "Ice Power" creams or whatever if it kinda like burns too much.
My muscles never gets too sore anymore.
Take: TYLENOL
And: Ice on for 20 minutes, Ice off for 20 minutes.
Also: Stretch
Need to get that chronic!
Pulling a muscle hurts so badly!!! But for sore muscles, just use tiger balm like what calliope said.
There's no conclusive evidence that stretching helps at all. It might help post exercise because you are actively using the muscles which are all broken and healing (which is good), but pre-exercise, it doesn't help much if you haven't exercised for a long time previously (you'll be sore regardless)
If you are really sore because you just stumbled home and went to sleep, my only advice is to get a massage and rest.
Pain is weakness leaving the body. Love it.

My back hurts, but that's supposedly from my heavy backpack. I vote less books to carry around.

I just carry on while they sort themselves out. Unless I've done myself actual injury in which case I just chill and sink some beers while I wait for the pain to go away.
