The problem is, I can't just quote someone and submit the post. I have to add something after the quote. Sometimes someone says something exactly the way you're going to say it, so there's no need to add anything after the quote.

Use html. One pair of bold tags, one after the other does the trick.
I can't be bothered to change it to make it count :p If you're only quoting someone and adding maybe only a smilie, you're not really adding anything useful to the thread :p
