Dark Knight Dressphere FAQ

We get this question a lot so here is a good walkthrough on how to get this dressphere:

CH2 - In 'Infiltrate Bevelle' mission - when you enter screen labeled 'Bevelle - labyrinth' for second time (this is after the screen with gaol machine), pay attention. Approach the wall which will fall away. Ahead you see three lifts. Use left one first - on upper level climb both elevations to get access to final lift up here (open the chest for HI-POTION). Now go S all the way until you fall down. Use N lift now to be transported to elevated switch - climb onto it and two pillars will rise somewhere. Go back down, and now ride right lift to upper level. Take left lift back down to lower level. Use N lift again and you get access to another elevated switch - climb onto it and you have now complete access. Use the lift to ride back down, then use left lift to go back up to upper level. Finally use top lift here to get even higher. Up here use the pillars you've been rising to nab this DSP.

CH3 - If you've sided with New Yevon, you have permanent access to Bevelle's dungeon thru whole CH. Just follow steps given above and get this DSP.

CH3 - If you've sided with Youth League, the access to Bevelle's dungeon is available only AFTER you clear Besaid and Kilika hotspots, but BEFORE you waste the boss inside Djose temple. Just follow steps given above and get this DSP.

CH5 - Regardless of who you sided with, you have permanent access to Bevelle's dungeon. Just follow steps given above and get this DSP.

can you get it in chapter 5 because i don't have it yet and everyone is always saying you need to use that in big boss battles. :confused:

Urm... hehe... i kinda finished the game without the darkknight dresssphere.... can't help but wonder what i was missing... my party consisted of Yuna lvl 77 Gunner(maxed out), Rikku lvl 70 Berserker(maxed out), Paine lvl 70 Alchemist (missing the skills ether and elixer cuz its just too hard!!) when i finished the game... was there a boss fight where it was absolutely crusial for this dressphere? :S

Awesome i finsihed it with the good ending without darkknight and with out achemicalist and all my people where level 53! I used Yuna's special dressphere. It was awesome.

oh... i didn't touch a single special dressphere too :D and it was mostly because of lady luck thats why my character's lvl was that high ( i had to finish the game in 5 days while i was staying at my brother's place)

yup.. so what was i missing out w/o the darkknight dressphere? i saw some skills on a dressgrid that said "arcana" which is some of the darkknight abilities right? i might had substituted a dark knight's place with some Dream Shocks and that "Silence gleam"...

You must be really good at that game. I'm impressed.

charon and darkness are cool. darkness you give up hp to damage enemies. charon, you just blow up and die for a lot of damage to the enemy.

huh I didn't have any trouble gettin the dark knight dress sphere I just picked it up in chapter 2.

I used the game shark to get it O.o Cuz obv.. I still can't find it ><"

no effence but i got that without a walkthrough or anything i just did my usuall rooting around (and i finaly now after 2 x new game plus ive eventually got 100% and tidus and yuna are bak together woot!!! woot!!!)

This is just an opinion of mine but the Dark knight dressphere paired with the White Mage is somewhat an overstatement in terms of power. Since Darkness can heavily damage all enemies and consumes only a very small portion of the Dark Knight's HP (provided that DKs have the highest HP of all desspheres) followed by a White Mage who recovers the lost HP afterwards. I obliterated almost all bosses this way and I didn't give too much sweat.

You get dark knight in bevelle underground you have to find a platform somewhere in the underground and dark knight will be in the box just before you fight baralie:]

You have to do some hover riding or something to thateffect. It is a very handy dressphere. The best attacker next to the Mascot and Berserker. Also, the Darkness ability is invaluable in the Angra Mainyu battle and the Vegnagun battle. Has anyone ever used Charon? I've just never found the right situation to use it.

I think either the black mages, the gun mages, or the woriors are the best.

i'd say beserker, black mage, or gunner (with cat nip equiped)

yeah, i guess the gunner with the cat nip is good. I mean, 9999 every shot is very very good.

LOL. Yeah. I think I get cat nip soon. I plan on using it on every attack I get. LOL. But I think you can still use it if your something else. I mean, you can't hit 9999 like 20 thousand times, but you can hit it once on the enemy if your not gunner.

OH YEAH! Don't forget to equip Ribbon!!! I forgot about that one.

You Don't need ribon?.........if you have sprint shoes on then there dead before they get to attack you?

OMG, you just missed the 2 most awesome attacks in the game!!!

1) Arkana "Dark Sky" is just like a Chocobo "Meteor" attack and deals 10-12 chained attacks to the entire enemy party, but it costs 60 spell points. You can get Dark Sky while using other dresspheres provided you acquired that skill before

2) "Darkness" is a freebie, no need to have any MP to do it. It takes some of your hit points to launch a very cool attack that can deal 1,000 to 3,000 points of damage to EACH enemy and the best part it hits all the fiends in the battle. Usually one darkness is enough to end the battle.. You can only use Darkness while using the DK dressphere

3) Another good freebie from DK is "Charon" where your character dies but instantly kills any fiend who is not immune to it. Only handy in chapters 3 or 4 though as the strong fiends from chapter 5 are all imune to it...

My favorite dressphere, and by far the hardest to get is Mascot. It looks goofy but it gives you twice the HP of other dresspheres, comes with shell and protect automatically and later gives you Ribbon automatically after you acquire the skill. It also allows you to use 2 additional dresspheres for each player, all this freeing your accessory spots for other stuff such as catnip, ragnarok, Crystal bangle...

All I did was equip cat nip, and some other useless thing. It took a couple hits to bring 'em down, and thats all.

hey im on ch 5 the second time around and i was wondering if i could get detailed instructions as how to get the dark night dsp im on msn msngr right now if anyone can help me im me Raakulin@hotmail.com

I found the dark night dsp and i wasnt looking for it. I was just training and came across it. My Yuna (Gunner) Riku(W-Mage) Pain(Dark night) were all between 40-50 and i beat Vegnagun and Shuyin in about 5mins. They were so weak it's untrue.

This post is for finding all the dresspheres during the game, for those people who have some difficulty in finding them:

Warrior: present from the beginning of the game

Thief: present from the beginning of the game

Songstress: present from the beginning of the game

Gunner: present from the beginning of the game

Black mage: complete the mission 'outrun the leblanc syndicate', and
then view the 'Gagazet Sphere'

White mage: complete the mission 'where's wakka' on besaid island in chapter 1

Gun mage: either complete 'Guard the Hypello' mission on the Moonflow in chapter 1, or sell at least six tickets in the mission 'Sell those Tickets', also on the Moonflow, but in chapter 2

Alchemist: complete the mission 'Clean Sweep' on the Calm lands either in chapters 2 or 3

Dark knight: check here for a thread on getting this

Berserker: complete the mission 'Secure the Agency' in macalania in chapter 3

Lady luck: either win the sphere break tournament in luca in chapter 3, or beat shinra in luca in chapter 5

Samurai: either find on the floor in kilika temple during 'Pest control' in chapter 3, or find in a chest in the same place during chapter 5

Trainer: recieve from Kimahri in chapter 3 if you say "you have to learn to deal with these things" and "you have to figure this out on your own" . Alternativly, talk to him three or more times.

Mascot: get 'episode complete' for all missions during chapter 5

Floral Fallal: you get this automatically during the mission 'Two birds, one stone' on the djose highroad in chapter 2

Machina Maw: you get this automatically during the mission 'Water we doing here?' in Bikanel desert in chapter 2

Full Throttle: recieve this by speaking to Tromell in Macalania woods during chapters 1 or 2

i missed it in chapter two can you go back for it in chapter 3,4,or 5 ??

I must be missing something. I can't find the gaol machine. I read all over various forums that its sposed to be around when ormi and logo and leblanc are guarding the exit or Ahh! I just don't know :( could you elaborate a bit on finding the bevelle labyrinth and gaol. Is it after you disable the security system yes? Plz help :(

Wow! I'm on Ch.5 with a lvl. 37! No special dresspheres but note that it is extremely long to beat a boss. I'm surprised you people don't all need a white mage...
