The fungus growing out of my ears need to be watered and mowed...
I'm a big fan of Diatoms.

I like Bioases
This protozoa is very pretty. :)

Stentor protozoa (Stentor polymorphus) are single-celled animals that grow to a length of 1.5 to 2 millimeters, much larger than many of their fellow multi-cellular aquatic organisms. Often, stentors will attach the lower portion of their pod to debris and assume the trumpet shape illustrated above. The circle of tiny cilia surrounding the trumpet rim beat continuously and serve to create localized convection currents in the water to draw smaller organisms into the rim or mouth (cytostome). Stentors vary in color, depending upon their diet, but they can appear green, blue, or reddish-yellow.
I feel nerdy because I think this is a very cool and interesting thread.

Psychedelic Protozoas.
Prions are just so nondescript, yet utterly deadly and unkillable. Don't have a picture of course, but they're really nasty. A piece of random DNA that drifts idly then infects someone and gives them Mad Cow Disease and such. Ugh.
I like the friendly bacteria in new Yakult.

I like them whadyamacallems. Hydra, I think?
Yay, I know about bacteria. Well, I ought to, anyway. I like Staphylococcus epidermidis. It's easy to identify...
I thought that prions were proteins...Quote:

I like amoeba. For those who've read Even Cowgirls Get The Blues by Tom Robbins, that book is dedicated to the amoeba, the original hitchhiker. One of the reasons they're so cool is that nobody is quite sure how long they've been around. They could have lived on Earth from the start, since they are basically immortal, or could have evolved seconds before they were discovered by some scientist.
I prefer this Amoeba, Boy:

The picture isn't working for me. What does it show?
prions are viruses, thus do not belong in this thread
hydras are coelenterates, multi-cell invertibrate animals, and thus do not belong in this thread
