following the resounding success of the character tournament, here we have a tournament of selected NPC's from throughout the Final Fantasy multiverse. Seedings have been determined on a subjective opinion on how these characters might fare in battle. Vote for one character in each group of two. Here's the first bracket.

A. Easy one. Beatrix all the way.
B. Even though Don Corneo had more character, I'll go with Richard because Dragoon > Pimp. :D
C. I think Hiryuu will arise to the sky as the winner over the annoying Guado fool.
D. I'll go with Jessie. She's a nice character, and if it wasn't for Tifa, Aeris and Yuffie, she and Cloud might make a good couple.
E. This is a tough one because I like both characters. I'll pick Rufus. Still a tough one.
F. The Sea King Leviathan will sink Ellone before she can junction the serpent's mind into another body.
G. The guy is called Jecht, not Jeckt. Anyway, even though Jecht is a cool badass, I'll go with Sailor Erin. She'll literally bring out her best cards before Jecht can shock the audience with his Jecht shot.
H. This one's really easy. Everyone loves Gilgamesh because he's one of the coolest side villains ever, and because his music theme rules!

Awesome strength and massive chest vs. comic hilarity and a much needed save point before ExDeath. Beatrix has breezed to the finals, while Gilgamesh met a surprising challenge from Rufus. Both characters sport massive popularity, but only one will advance to the final four.

It comes down to a grudge match between Beatrix and Gilgamesh in the finals of bracket #1. Who will go on to the Final Four?

How can people vote on Beatrix instead of Gilgamesh? What does she have that good old Gil doesn't? Except the obvious, of course.

it's not necessarily based on battle strength, but that is a big factor. it's up to you whether battle skills, hilarity, or sex appeal is more valuable.

Well, I can't say it's really an upset...but Ultros loses to Bahamut 10-9. Bahamut advances to the final four to face Beatrix. I'm not on my computer so I'll post Bracket #3 tomorrow when I get back on.

I'll vote for Robot and Reno. I always thought the robot was pretty nice walking around the waterfall cave, and Reno's way too cool to lose to Miss Kya Ha Ha. But I've got to give Scarlet some credit for slapping that old fart Gestahl all the way back to Vector.
leo and reno are the obvious choices here. the robot may have been great, but leo was bloody legendary.

Man, I've been slacking with the merges. Rubicant was a plesant surprise in this tournament, even though I may have told eest to use him in the first place. I can't remember. Anyway, he makes up for the fall of Hojo and Rufus.
Rubicant advances as the last member of the final four and the championship is set!
Beatrix, all-powerful and sexy NPC from FFIX faces Bahamut in his FFI incarnation, the king who sends the light warriors on a mission of courage.
In the other matchup, FFVI's ever-popular General Leo faces the also ever-popular Rubicant, FFIV's fire fiend in a matchup of enemies who would be our friends.
We managed to get a good cross section of games represented in the final four.
Beatrix, definitely, but....the other matchup was extremely hard. I picked Leo, but I'm not sure why at this point.
