IMO the band Janus.
Really cool Industrial/EBM/Orchestral/Other/Metal
Weissglut/Silber is also really original.
Especially the album Zeichen.
I must go with my favourite band, Pink Floyd.
The Wall, was a very unique album to begin with, and when they made it a movie, it was even more unique. Along with their large assortment of songs, over a huge discography, one of the most original bands ever together.
Notable mentions:
~The Beatles
~Jimi Hendrix
~Neil Young
Hmmmmm...
Primus.
Sweetbox! Or, more specifically, their lead singer, Jade!
Director: Quinton Tarantino. No one is that original.
Artist: I'd say Toby Keith, because he actually says what should be said, unlike lying to people like everyone else.
I'm just going to try my hardest not to respond to that and believe me its pretty damn hard)...Quote:

Most original music artist? The Blueman Group
I'll agree 100% with the Tarantino comment though...hes by far the most original director I know of.
My fave actor and undoubtably the greatest action film actor ever! All of the stunts that he thinks up there on the set, all of the fighting choreography, the brilliant humor. Utter brilliance.
Another original person would have to be Dermot Morgan aka Father Ted. The man was a comic genious, and nothing short. Just watch a single episode and you'll know what I'm talking about. Not only is he brilliantly funnt but he's the only person who managed to sneak the words "F**king Hell!" into a show without getting it censored since it was shown before 9:00pm. (With reference to the episode with the sheep)
Attachment removed for profanity..~Gau
Musical Artist: The Smiths.
Director: Tarantino.
Screenwriter: That guy that did American Beauty and the TV show Six Feet Under
Moonspell: An awesome Portuguese melodic death/black metal band. Unlike most death metal bands (where all they do is growl), Moonspell's singer knows when and how to growl, and you can actually understand the words. See my sig for the link to their website. :D
- Quentin Tarantino
- Mary Quant
That's all I can think of now :rolleyes2
Tool.

Originality is over-rated IMO.
That's the silliest thing I've seen on this forum, IMO.Quote:

Uhm. Hmm. Jamamamamamameroquai (or however you spell it)? Maaaaaybe Crowded House. OH OH OH OH Veggie Tales. Oh yes. Definitely.
Spice Girls too. I'm pretty sure they were a first for that kind of thing. Original manufactured overpopped girl band.
Elvis.
Avril Lavigne :D?
Evanescence and Likkin Park

And even besides that... I fail to see one fresh or original thing either of those bands have done.
>.< I hate it when people describe Evanescence as "goth metal with a hot chick singing". They can barely even classify as rock. I think the main reason some people see Evanescence as original is that their music kind of defies category. It's too soft to be rock or metal, too heavy to be classical with lyrics... they pull from all musical genres and are something kind of on their own. (I don't see any similarities between Ev and The Gathering or Lacuna Coil aside from possibly the lyrics and chick singers.) But I agree that their music isn't really original, I just think that the way they approach it is different than most musicians.Quote:

Mmmm. Genre defying... or not.
They are a hard rock band (though in today's popular music scene, it's basically considered metal)... however you want to narrow it down. Every metal band does ballads... a song like My Immortal does not make them borderline classical. Evanescence (am I ever gonna spell that right) does not approach their music in any specifically new way. Sure they aren't a rip-off band, but the main reason they're so popular is not because of their originality (though I suppose this is the first huge band of their type in recent years), but because they've gotten their catchy songs to the radio- which propels any popular act nowadays.
No, Linkin Park does not sound like Limp Bizkit. They aren't bringing anything new to popular music though, as rap-metal was popular before them.
Ooh, The Streets. And Petshop Boys (West End Girls, aka the first British reply to rap music).
hendrix
also, i find alot of bad religions stuff to be pretty origional. stuff like sinister rouge, epiphany, sorrow. you dont hear stuff like that everyday.
Yeah the streets are good.Quote:
