The boss in last dungeon spoiler-> [Omega Weapon ] was optionl but i wanna know your thoughts about him was he hard easy good fight whatever.
I thought he was a good fight but i only had 1 hero drink cause i didnt get gilgamesh card and rinoa didnt feel like using spoiler->[invincible moon] :eep:
I found him to be either, incredible hard, or incredibly easy, depending on whether or not you had some way of becoming invincible. The first time I played the game I didnt take the time to play the card game and the only hero drink was wasted by one of my characters who were confused in a previous battle. So when I faught him I was completly obliterated.
Being wiser the second time around, I played the card game, aquired the gilgamesh card and destroyed him in the end. I mean I still had to worry about my invincibilty to wear off, but I mean, otherwise it was smooth sailing like you couldn't believe.
every time i fought him he always cast Megido Flame in between my Holy Wars and as u all know thats a 12,000 damage attack and i died each time. I never got Proof of the Omega Weapon...

Ah..... Omega Weapon... the first extra boss I ever fougth...
OK... if you haven't beaten the game yet then I recomend that you stop reading rigth now!
Ready?... ok, here we go...
To start with:
Omega Weapon is by most people treated as the strongest and hardest boss in FFVIII... well, in my opinion he's not (any more).
About Me and FFVIII: This was my first real RPG... in the begining everything was confusing... it took a long time before I relised how the junction system really worked. However... in the end I loved the game more than anything else. It was my absolute fav game until I played FFVII (but that's another long story). I even loved the Card game from the very begining to the very end. Then suddenly it happend... I got the Ultima Weapon Card... the last boss card... and I thougth that the name was very cool. So I couldn't wait until I should figth this boss and was thinking about him very much. Then I reached Ultimecias Castle...
The Two Weapons:
...And I thougth... what? I haven't fougth any Ultima Weapon and still I'm just before the final boss. But I figured out how to figth Omega and when I fougth him, it went like this: I survived lvl5 Death. Squall: summon GF. Rinoa and Zell... um... did something patetic and got slaugthered by Megido Flame. Squall survieved since he was summoning a GF (the GF took the dammage and died). But then Omega used Terra Break and I was completely slaugthered. I was like OMG, WTF this guy is impossible! But I still fougth him again and scaned him. Scan: Name Omega Weapon. Me: OMEGA Weapon is this the guy on the card? No, his name was ULTIMA Weapon. Scan: Stronger than Ultima Weapon..blablablablabla, strongest monster in the world. Me: Ultima Weapon... so there's 2 Weapon guys... But where the*** can I find ULTIMA Weapon!?!?!?!? But then I found out how to get out of the castle, get the Ragnarok and fianlly... reach the Battleship Island. I defeated Bahamut... and went trough the DSRF. It took me about half an hour to go from the visible Save Point to Ultima Weapon... and he wiped me out in 1min. But it was worth it. First Squall: I have a bad feeling about this... then the heart pounds... the music started, as did the battle... and the look of Ultima Weapon was... well, let's just say I have never seen such a cool looking boss anywhere else. But I returned later when my party was stronger... and I defeated him after many tries (with the use of Lion Heart :nonono: :whimper: :-[ ). And I returned to the Castle and fougth Omega Weapon... and got killed... many, many times before I finally defeated him (with the use of Lion Heart and 2 hero items :nonono: :whimper: :-[ ) Then I played other FFs, got better and more strategic... and then I played trough FFVIII once again... and fougth Omega Weapon... and relised the truth about him...
(Geez... I don't understand how it could take me so long to relise that :rolleyes2 )
Omega Weapon VS Ultima Weapon:
...Omega Weapons attacks isn't random... they are predicable! This is what can make Ultima Weapon more deadly. Now,who is the deadliest of them? Strong and weak: Omega Weapons strong side: Alot more HP than anyone else. Weakness: Attacks are predicable, therefore the player can be much more prepared. Ultima Weapons strong side: Use Ligth Pillar (one of the most powerfull monster attacks in the game) at RANDOM... so you can't be completely prepared. He also randomly use Gravia whitch is also very deadly. Weakness: Not very much HP.
So basically, the only thing that really make Omega Weapon stronger is that he has much more HP. However... as soon knew Omega Weapon attack order, I could easily defeat him WITHOUT: Lion heart, hero items, Armagedon fist and The End. Ultima Weapon on the other hand... when I fougth him with the same party with the same stats as when I fougth Omega Weapon earlier... I lost... to 3 unpredicable Ligth Pillars and a Gravia-Meteor combo. So really who IS the hardest? If you tell me... then I say Ultima Weapon, not because I love him... but, simply because... in my opinion he is the stronger one. If Omega and Ultima Weapon had the same amount of HP, then Ultima Weapon whould kick Omegas butt to the moon. :D
About Omega Weapon:
Attacks and how to avoid them: 1) lvl 5 Death. Either, don't be at a level multiplised by 5, OR junction 100 Deaths to your stat-def.
2) Meteor. Have high spr (shell halves the dammage).
3) Megido Flame. This is Omegas mos deadly attack. It does exactly 9998 dammage to the party and neither protect or shell will work. To survive... either Block with a GF or have 9999 HP before the attack (make sure to heal with megaelexir after this attack, but you may wait until Omega Weapon does his next move since it won't hurt you at all if your hp is1).
4) Gravia. This attack dammage 3/4 of your current HP (this attack can't kill so if HP is 1, this attack will do 0 dammage).
5) Terra Break. This may be your end. If you'r not prepared that is... but all you need is the ability Defend. If you use Defend when Omega Weapon uses Terra Break... then you will take 0 dammage! So you should get the Defend ability to as many party members as you can.
6) Ultima. Same as Meteor.
7) Ligth Pillar. Since this attack does 9999 dammage to one of your party members, no matter what, the one who is hit will die. But worry not, since Omegas Ligth Pillar is predicable, you just need to be prepared to revive the one who dies.
After all this Omega Weapons attacks will repeat... all but lvl5 death, so you will always be prepared. Oh, and one more thing... He may use a psychical attack at random(wow RANDOM) betweene the other moves, but don't worry, it's a weak attack and it may miss!
Location: Ultimecias Castle
Draw: Flare, Holy, Meteor, and Ultima
Looks like: A silver coloured demon centaur.
My personal, special way to figth him with only 2 party members withou spending magic: Have 2 party members junction the Defend, recover and revive abilities. Now FIGTH! after Megido Flame your 2 characters will have 1 HP, now's the time for the LimitBreaks! (Have high Evade so that IF Omega use his normal attack at this time, then it will miss) after Gravia, make sure to Defend. As soon as Terra Break is casted, then use recover to restore HP fro 1 to full, after the Ligth Pillar, use Revive. Then Keep going this way until you beat him!
Side Info:
How to get the Defend ability: The GF Brothers have it and they are found in the tomb of the unknown king. You can also get it by refining 100 of some kind of item that some kind of monster drop. But I don't remember whitch monster or item... however :D . (special thanx to Aeris2001x2 for telling me the GF the Brothers location since I never got them myself before he told me about them... long ago...)
How to get 100 Death spells: Draw from Tonberries and/or Toramas.
How many FFs do Omega Weapon exist in: FFV, (known as just Omega, Omega Weapon) FFVIII, FFX and FFX2 (patetic enemy in this one).

Ways I have Beaten Omega Weapon:1) Solo Squall, no Lion Heart or hero items.
2) With a blindfold! (no Lionheart, the end, hero items or armagedon fists.) I didn't see anything trough the whole battle! I only heard the sound effects and tried to imagine the situation, and it worked!:cool:
Now I'm a FF Boss Master and Beat every Super Boss in Every FF without cheap methods. I NEVER USE THE END, HERO ITEMS, ARMAGEDON FIST, NEVER LEARN INVINCIBLE MOON AND NEVER BUY LION HEART!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..... *completely insane laugh*

Only word needed to be said after that.
Omega weapon is extremely easy IMO. All you need to do is get Zells str. very high. This can be done with STR. ups. Then cast doomtrain on Omega to weaken his defenses. Then do zells puch rush/booya trick. To do this all you need to do is simply keep on repeating Punch Rush and Booya again and again. If zells str is high enough you can easily do 4000 or more dmg (when I use it, it useally does 7000 dmg) to Omega. With this trick you can also easily land over 100 hit combos if you are fast enough. 4000 * 100 = 400,000 dmg! Do that 2 or three times and omega is dead. Combine that with Squalls lionheart and Irvines Fast ammo.
Is it cheating to use a third party joypad with turbo to land 99 hits on Omega with Irvine's Fast Ammo? I think not. Since my Irvine managed to do surprisingly good damage with Fast Ammo, I didn't find Omega Weapon to be a problem at all. Combined with the aforementioned Armageddon Fist trick and Squall's Lionheart (which all of a sudden, isn't that great anymore) Omega bites the bullet in no time.
Go into the battle and summon Doomtrain before you do anything else (it'll heal him but it'll also cast Meltdown on him) I like to cast Aura on everyone just before Omega uses Medigo Flame and follow up with a Holy War. Ta-dah. Aura-ed, invincible, 1 HP characters with limit breaks ready to go.
That's a pretty risky way to go though, because chances are you won't be able to beat Omega Weapon after using 3 limit breaks (unless you get one of those heavenly 20-something second Duels for Zell) So you'll need to predict when the Holy War wears out and use a Megalixer before Omega can attack you.

You can also refine Laguna Card for 100 Heros, Bahamut Card for 100 Megalixers and Gilgamesh Card for 10 Holy Wars. You also get a Holy War for doing the Winhill sidequest involving the broken jar pieces. There's a few other places you can get Holy Wars as well so don't fret if you don't have any.

I fought ultima weapon, totally kicked the crap out of it on my first try, but when it came to fight omega....i just lamed out, was too lazy, and just wanted to go kick the crap out of ultimecia (which i did). so i never fought him. i don't really regret it either.*shrug*

yeah omega weapon in ff8 is pathetic. way harder then ffX-2 omega. a bit harder then ffX ntsc omega, a bit easier then ffX pal omega, and an absolute ant to ffV omega.
Definetly. Omega weapon was easy. LionHeart can eliminate him no sweat. I would have preffered him to have more HP like Emerald Weapon or Ruby weapon, so it wouldn't take you one limit to kill him.
Actually, Omega Weapons HP in FFVIII is about as high as Emerald and Ruby Weapons HP in FFVII. But there's no Lionheart or Armagedon fist etc in FFVII. However, w-summon KotR + Mime make short work of them to.Quote:

Omega Weapon? In the Castle: From the entrance, take your figthing party to the fountain with a green switch circle. Now, prepare your party and then switch to the other party. Take the non-figthing party up the stairs and then turn left. Go trough the door and down the stairs in this room. This is the room rigth before the room with all the paintings. Walk towards the screen and press X. Now, a countdown will begin and you have to switch back to the figthing party and go to the room with the purple mist thing. Omega is waiting rigth there. If the countdown reach 0 then Omega will dissapear.
Do you mean trhge bell? Okay but what about the piano, why is that thing there? Oh and you know the piano room turn left throught the stairs and at the bridge there's a paper or smth like that (I thought it was a ghost) and what is that and what is taht worth for?
The thing on the bridge is actually a key. You have to walk towards it slowly or it will fall off the bridge. The piano thing... you'll have to play something on it but I don't remember how. However if you do, then the cell thing in the room on the left side of the fountain.

Do you know the cell where you find Red Giant? Rigth before there's a room with 2 doors. One of them is locked. I think the key opens that door.
Read my first post if you want to know almost everything about Omega Weapon.
Take the Ragnarok to the Corner of the worldmap, there's a hidden island that can't be seen on the map. Land on it. Don't move when the blue ligth shines(you'll know what I mean when you'r there)... move towards the blue thing in the middle of the room. Answere the 3 questions(the 3rd answere is hidden), figth the Ruby Dragons and Beat Bahamut. Leave the island and return a bit later with Zell. Now you can climb down and... ok I leave it like this... try to figure out the rest yourself. :p
That's the part that i don't know!!!!!!! :p
It's osme kind of code but I never got that!!!! I'm really crazy about monster, I like to defeat them all!!!
Oh... sorry then. That's why Zell is needed. The code-thing have to be exactly 0. If you fail, then just go back and try again. On each floor there's a machine where you decide an amount of numbers to be wasted. Oh, and no-encouter won't take away all the battles here... but just some of them. But it's still recomended.

Yea, every boss in FFVIII is easy (with etc Lion Heart all bosses are pice of cace).
But Ultima Weapon is by far the hardest boss to beat with solo Squall without Lionheart. :D Also Omega IS even easier if you just know the trick. You can figth Omega and be 99,9998% sure to win the battle if you know him as good as I. And that's still without Lionheart and the hero items and all the other stuff. :) If you want him to be more challanging... then try to defeat Ultima Weapon without lionheart, hero items + no Magic Junctioning... yea that means your stats will be pure crap. :D
plus ultima weapon is random...just because u beat him once dont mean he,ll go down everytime, 3 random light pillars? of course he,ll still be easy 99/100 times but still.
omega is a wuss 2 ultima...which says alot about ff8,s *hardness* lol :D
Yeah but I thought she was going to put that attack that take of 9999 HP from my characters thousands of time, but no, she just did it once and killed my Doomtrain!!!! It's harder to arrive at her that to defeat her!

seriously Ultima Weapon is much harder 4 me cause i dont have lion heart or very good junctionings where i currently am on that save. kinda like ffX pal version omega weapon in which hes easy but my team is so pathetic i cant beat him.
i concour ultima is easy, but please fight him again somewhat, i promise hes much harder then anything else in the game. how good was your team may i ask?

Im up to the one that you fight after bahumet. It is possible to beat him without ultimate weapons and hero's no? I have i just wanted to beat him without them. Any tips or strategys dont feel like reading all the long posts.

Omega should have acted like Ultima did (hyper randomness). then it would have been a proper challenge, an Ultima with 1 million hp. of course Zell could still beat it with one Armageddon fist :tongue:
Zells Duell should also be more random.
ok first of all you don't need 100 heroes. I believe there is a game faq online that shows you how to beat it without becoming invincible. I've done it....I only wish that I could prove it. I don't remember the fight exactly but....every move omega does is in sequence....memorize the sequence and try to get perfect timing...i believe it took me 2000000 times to get it down. But GF is your friend here! When you are summoning them during the attack that goes well above 9999 HP make sure that you are summoning and it takes out your GF. You don't need them anyway. I beat him with Squall, Rinoa, and Irvine. Cause their limits are the ones that cause the most damage! Squall's Lionheart, Rinoas Wishing Star, and Irvines, Pulse or Ap Ammo. Rinoa is a must though because sometimes she will either cast wishing star or Invincible Moon! I know its random but in order to save your laguna card you have to take some chance. finally make sure that aura is plent and haste is cast. Thats it....good luck.....its damn near imossible but its always worth a try.....

I don't use it either. My real life "no luck" causes me to rarely ever get it, even when all other characters are KOed, and Selphie's in critical condition will negative status effects.
As for the no-junctioning thing, are you still allowed to use stat booster (HP Up, Str Up, etc...)?
Yes... the thing is... you can't get them. I made a FFVIII challange tread a long time ago and it was to beat FFVIII without junctioning anything else but the commands, without drawing from encounters/bosses/enemies of any kind, without refining cards + only use each characters first weapon.Quote:

Kilika just proves what a reputation ffVIII omega has, but unfornately its such an unjust one. even 6 years on he is still way over rated and its about time he was pushed off his pedestal.
