Have you ever been named after a city, or had a city named after you? How can anyone tell the difference? The great Italian Rennaissance composer Giovanni de Palestrina shares a name with the town of Palestrina where he lived, yet nobody really knows if he was named after the city or if the city was named after him. International man of mystery, I say!
I was talking to a girl a few days ago whos name was Paris in Habbo hotel, her real name that is.

My uncle (by marriage) has the same last name as the city we live in. Corona. Which also happens to be the name of a beer.

Have I ever been named after a city? No, for all the times I've been named I've never been named after a city. Though my middle name, Jean, is a town just across the Nevada border, and I'm sure there are other Jean's.

My last name is the name of a town in Maine( think anyway,pretty sure),a ton of streets, and a mountan(which happened to be names after one of my fathers ancestors I think ). All which are in Maine,which is pretty cool.

There is (or was) a road in Cork with my surname...but that's about it.

Farah is a city in Afghanistan, but I don't think our family name came from the city, seeing as we have no afghani in us.
My second name "Van der Merwe" means By the Merwe in dutch. The Merwe being a river somewhere. A dutch w is pronounced like a v btw. I dont actualy know how to pronounce it. This my freinds flemmish parent could. It had some elongated d (dont ask me where that came from) that I cant pronounce. :/
