I know we haven't had one of these threads in a bit, so let's start one up. What's your theme song?

Laverne and Shirley
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
The Doors - Alabama Whiskey
Rush - Working Man
The Hip - 35 Years Old
The Beatles - Dr. Robert
Either of those would do just fine.

Yay, thread didn't die!
Now I'm torn between the Rolling Stones song and U2 - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.
Del, I like that choice - what about it appeals to you? (Other than it's a beautiful song - that's cheating. ;)) Come to think of it, it would be interesting to think which composition would best fit one's life - mine would be J Ralph - Untitled 17 (www.jralph.com) or Nobuo Uematsu - Blue Fields (the orchestrated version on the Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec album).
One Chance- Modest Mouse
All The Love In The Universe- Carlos Santana
Send The Pain Below- Chevelle
The song is mysterious without trying to be. It's also smart, but sad, though it does try to make up for that with dermination. It tries to make others happy, though, by it's own design, it cannot be happy itself. It's also pretty laid back.
Plus I think I live in another world sometimes.
SFA - Hermann <3's Pauline.
Marie Curie was Polish born but French bred. HAHA! FRENCH BREAD!
Slow. Invisible. Suffocation.
Pink Floyd - Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving With a Pic

Slow Walker and Shanti by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones

A cross between these two songs:
Blind Melon - Ever had the feeling
&
Meat Puppets - **** you
Apparently it's 'Truth With Elegance' by Hundred Reasons.
Blink 182 Story of a Lonley Guy or What Went Wrong
Audioslave - Like a Stone
I often feel as the lyrics describe. The first couple verses about thinking about death and whatnot fit me well. The refrain captures an emotion I feel often, a sense of being alone, waiting for something. Yup, it just fits.
"My Wave" by Soundgarden. 'Nuff said.

Umm... I don't have a 'theme song' as such, I think it's hard to sum up a whole person in 3-8 minutes of music, however delightful those minutes may be. There are, however, a few songs that I feel have value to me beyond merely being 'good music'. One that comes to mind is Radiohead's Fake Plastic Trees.
I know that this song is an attack on commercialisation and the like, but I can't quite help but draw other meanings from it. Towards the end of the song, there are the lines,
"She looks like the real thing, she tastes like the real thing. My fake plastic love...."
It's always spoken to me about my own reluctance to accept fantasy as fantasy and reality as reality. I live in a 'fake plastic world' of my own creation, I've shielded myself to such a degree from reality that I only have my plastic enviroment for comfort, the culture shock of emerging from my bubble would simply be too great, so I remain a willing prisoner. Or something pratty and pretentious like that =P It goes on to say,
"If I could be who you wanted, if I could be who you wanted...all the time..."
I've always found it hard to be who others wanted. For the longest time I did my best to fit in and be the kind of person that would make others proud, but due to a series of events, I find such action impossible now, I'm bound to be myself even when 'me' is not the person those I care for need. I wish I could be the person others wanted, maybe not 'all the time', but at least sometimes.
So yeah...umm... Those few lines aside, the song doesn't have any real emotional tie for me, but I guess it's the closest thing I have to a 'theme song'.
