Final Fantasy Melee

Yeah, yeah, I know. Cheap rip-off (And anyone who mentions Ehrgeiz WILL get forcibly dismembered). But heres the deal. Take old Final Fantasy Characters, make new ones, and make them into Melee-ish characters. Simple moves, that kind of thing.

Trey
Weapon: Lance
Special: Javelin (Charge for more damage)
Special + fwd/back: Heaven and Hell Smasher
Special + up: Phoenix Rising
Special + down: Dragon Dive
Grab + up: Sleeper Hold
Grab + down: Copycat (Replaces Javelin with the captured character's special move)
Grab + fwd/back: Dragon's Breath

Kathy
Weapon: Staff
Special: Light Field (Short range field. No defensive properties)
Special + fwd/back: Ray of Light
Special + up: Baton Twirl
Special + down: Crystal Shield
Grab + up: Kinesis
Grab + down: Giga Twak
Grab + fwd/back: Exorcism (Blasts an enemy away with a force beam)

Dax
Weapon: Gladius
Special: Can o' Whupass (Combo-able)
Special + fwd/back: Rage Slice (Chargable)
Special + up: Star Blade (Jump/Uppercut-ish)
Special + down: Shin Cutter
Grab + up: Shield Carry
Grab + down: Meteo Blade (Smashes enemy into ground)
Grab + fwd/back: Shield Charge

Erin
Weapon: Bow
*Note: Uses bow (Not arrows) to perform basic attacks*
Special: Heroine's Bow
Special + fwd/back: Ivy Whip
Special + up: Petal Bomb
Special + down: Pollen Burst (Little Damage, but causes sleep)
Grab + up: Wooden Tower
Grab + down: Man-Eater Flower

Special: Blade Fan Spin

Special + down: Static Field

Again, go ahead and post old FF characters, but feel free to add unique creations too.

What's wrong with Ehrgeiz? I liked the game.

Anyway, now my turn:

Cloud (who didn't see this coming? Honestly)
Weapon: Buster Sword
B - Blade Beam
B^ - Climhazard
B> - Finishing Touch
Bv - Braver
Z^ - Meteorain
Z> - Fire
Zv - Bolt
Z< - Mini Toss

I obviously use SSBM's control style, so if this were ever made for something like PS2, then the controls would be different.

Explainations:
Blade Beam - Three beams shoot out of the Buster Sword. One straight forward, one at an upward angle, and one at a downward angle.
Climhazard - Cloud jumps high in the air with his sword held out.
Finishing Touch - Send a small tornado to send the opponent flying straight upward.
Braver - Same as in Ehrgeiz (sorry, but that was the best way I could explain it)
Meteorain - Cloud jumps up, then sends a few small meteors down to the opponent.
Fire - Cloud pushes the opponent away, then shoots a fireball at him/her.
Bolt - Cloud simply summons a bolt of lightning to hit the target.
Mini Toss - Cloud shrinks the opponent, the tosses him/her backwards.

Shadow(ofcourse)
Weapon: Knive
B - Trow
B^ - Ninja jump
B> - Takedown(interceptor)
Bv - Interceptor block(counters with Wildfang if hit)
Z^ - Assasin move (poison enemy for small dammage over time. Heal in 5 sec)
Z> - Stealth attack
Zv - Wild knives (smach enemy into ground and hit multiple times with knives)
Z< - Shadow strike

Tranced Cloud (what can I say? I like Cloud :D)
B - Slash-All
B^ - Flight
B> - Omnislash (multiple commands)
Bv - Comet
Z^ - 4x-Cut Juggle
Z> - Impale
Zv - Bolt3
Z< - Pre-Emptive

Explanations:
Slash-All - Any character within a 10ft. radius takes damage equivalent to the "Falcon Punch."
Flight - Fly for five seconds, fully capable of movement and aireal attacks.
Omnislash - Like Marth/Roy's "Dancing Blade," but with a maximum of eight attacks.
Comet - Auto-targets the nearest opponent and hurls a comet at them.
4x-Cut Juggle - Lift opponent up and slash four times in a row (last one being the strongest).
Impale - Push opponent away, then throw the Buster Sword threw their body.
Bolt3 - Like normal Cloud's Bolt, but three times as powerful.
Pre-Emptive - Simply switch positions with oppent and turn them to face away from you (leaving them open for attack).

Bartz

A Attack with Sword
B puts out Magic Lamp and a summon comes out, Bartz disappears and you control the summon for 30 seconds

R Puts out Shield
Z Gets Boco to save him if falls off ledge

B^ Look at Z
BV (If in the air) Similar to Link but when he lands, it makes an earthquake

A & X Uses Haste - (Shoot)Makes him run faster 10 seconds, or disable Slow
A & Y Uses Slow - (Shoot) whoever it shoots will disable Haste, or make the person run in slow-mo for 10 seconds

EDIT: Changed the buttons for Haste

ULTIMA WEAPON! (not playable character, similar to Giga Bowser)
Weapon: Great Ultima Weapon sword
B - Ligthpillar (1,5sec charging time. If it hits, then the targets % will immediately reach 999.)
B^ - Meteor (multiple meteors falls down around Ultima Weapon)
B> - Shadow Flare (powerfull knockout attack)
Bv - Migthy Barrier (Creates a barrier that block all attacks for 4 sec. Any pshycical attacks will burn the attacker with small fire dammage and any ranged attacks will be deflected. Ultima Weapon can't move when the barrier is on.)
Z^ - Gravia (Black gravity energy covers a small area and force the targets into the ground + boosts all targets current % by 3/4)
Z> - Ultima Beam (like the "hands" beams but much more powerfull)
Zv - Quake (Like the pokemon Venusaur)
Z< - Supreme Sword (Ultima Weapon lift the target into the air, the sword shines brigthly and then Ultima Weapon impales the target multiple times with the sword for tremendeus dammage. Can hit as much as 5 times.)

Weapon:Illumina

B^ - Psych (Boosts her up a bit to act as a triple jump, but also adds 1-3 images of Terra)
B> - Riot Blade (Or whatever her Desperation Attack is...)
Bv - Morph
Z^ - Booster Throw
Z< / > - Bouncer (Throws enemy, bouncing them across the ground, so they periodically recieve damage)
Zv - Stop Field

Morphed Terra
B - Esper Pulsar (Greater damage/Range with more time chraged, but takes a while to activate between release and activate)
B^ - Glide
B> - Mind Blast
Bv - Revert
Z^ - Cyclone Pummel
Z< / > - Flare
Zv - Smasher (Carries enemy into the air, and spikes 'em to the ground)

Basically, Terra is kind of like Zelda

You obviously haven't played much, or any, of Super Smash Bros. Melee, have you?

Lesson:
In Super Smash Bros. Melee (SSBM), you have normal attack (done with the 'A' button and various directions), special attacks (done with the 'B' button with 'UP,' 'FORWARD,' 'DOWN,' or nuetral), gaurd (done with 'L' or 'R'), grab (done with 'Z,' or 'L/R'+'A'), throw (after grabbing, push 'UP,' 'FORWARD,' 'BACKWARD,' or 'DOWN'), and jump (done with 'X,' 'Y,' or 'UP'). All directions must be doen with the analog stick. D-Pad UP (or just D-UP) makes your character do his/her fighting stance (taunt).

Giga Guess, you didn't give a 'Z>' or 'Z<' in your last two characters. You only gave 'Z^,' 'Zv,' and 'Z.' Just pushing 'Z' will get you to grab your opponent. Or, if you've already grabbed him/her, you'll do a weak attack while holding him/her (can also be done with 'A').

Just lettin' ya'll know, 'cause you got me a little confused :lol:.

Also, if Cloud is in it, then Zack must be Cloud's "clone" character with slightly adjusted or different moves (like Dr. Mario and Luigi are to Mario, and Gannondorf to Captain Falcon).

I fixed it. It was made into an accidental end tag.

Weapon: Crystal Staff
B - Freeze (Duration, and distance ise ball will travel dependant on legth of charge)
B^ - North Wind
B> - Cold Wave
Bv - Blizzard
Z^ - Icy Pillar
Z< / > - Diamond Dust (like hitting an enemy with a Freezie in SSBM)
Zv - Heavenly Strike (Looooong freeze duration, causes a bit of damage to Shiva, and produces a shockwave)

Ifrit
Weapon:Bare Claws Baby!
B - Fire Breath
B^ - Volcano Booster
B> - Meteor Strike
Bv - Demon Smasher
Z^ - Inferno
Z< / > - Get Outta Here! (Hurls an enemy a fair distance with a mighty blow)
Zv - Wildfire

Ramuh
Weapon:Thunder Rod
B - Spark (Bounces across the ground)
B^ - Stormclouds Gather (Creates a rainstorm. Causes the playing field to be a little slippery. Every subsequent B^ Causes a Lightning bolt to strike the enemy)
B> - Electric Staff (Lightning dances in random directions, basically in a foward direction. Effective in close quarters)
Bv - Ground Charge
Z^ - Toss & Zap (Tosses enemy up to get blasted with a lightning bolt)
Z< / > - Storm Spinner (Ramuh spins the enemy around, and releases him for a small throw, but causes a short period of disorientation on the target)
Zv - Rapid Strike (Madly smashes the enemy with his staff, inflicting many small damage attacks.

As for the Taunts

Trey: Yawns
Erin: Tosses her hair
Dax: Stabs his sword into the ground and leans on it
Kathy: Meditates
Britney: Does a short fan dance
Terra: Spins her pendant on her finger
Esper Terra: Levitates a bit off the ground, and spins slowly with her arms outstretched
Shiva: Blows a kiss
Ifrit: Beats his chest and roars
Ramuh: Points at the enemy and gestures at him with the infamous "bring it on" gesture

Orlandu
Weapon: Great Sword
Forward B:
Stasis Sword
Several chunks of ice fly from Orlandu's sword.
Up B:
Lightning Stab
Orlandu thrusts downwards, sending out a blade of lightning and launching him upwards.
B:
Night Sword
Orlandu slashes forward and his sword extends somewhat with orange energy. Not especially strong, but it restores some of his percentage.
Down B: Shellbust Stab: Orlandu thrusts and launches a long energy blast that damages and lowers defense temporarily.

Don't forget his A moves.

Chocobo
Weapon: Beak and Talons
B - Mega Peck (Rapid comboable)
B^ - Choco Flutter
B> - Choco Rush
Bv - Choco Dive
Z^ - Airborne! (Tosses enemy high up, with a fair chance of out of screen KO)
Z< / > - Choco Wing
Zv - Chubby Chocobo (Summons Chubby Chocobo to smash the opponent)

Taunt: Preens himself

I don't think I need to put the A moves since its just variations of him attacking upwards, downwards, etc. etc.. Probably more powerful but slower versions of what Marth and Roy already have.

Yeah, "A" moves are just the staples. However, Z moves are usually worth mentioning.

Bv - Asura's Defender (Asura descends, and either raises defence, or restores life)
Z^ - Spinner (Levitates enemy, and spins him/her. Fast! Causes dizzy, and small damage)
Z< / > - Titan's Fist (Think...WHACK!)
Zv - Astral Crusher

Taunt: Twirls her staff like a baton.

Black Mage
A stab with knife
B^ downwards Hadoken (propels upwards and does damage)
B stabbity-death (flurry of knife hits)
Bv Fighter Doken
ZA hits with knife
Z tosses in air and hits with fire2

Taunt: Speech bubble saying 'I like evil pie'

Sine we're giving taunts now, too...

Cloud's taunt: Why not the battle win pose from FFVII?

Tranced Cloud's taunt: Hugs himself and sprouts that one black wing (like in KH art). Remains until defeated or you taunt again, which causes him to put the wing back to wherever it came from.

Young Rydia
Weapon: Twinkle Staff
B - Li'l Comet
B^ - Rising Sun
B> - Static Staff
Bv - Toybox (Basically, a rubber ball bounces towards the enemy, a dancing doll interferes with his/her attack, or she tosses a ring at him which nullifies all A, B and Z commands for a short time.)
Z^ - Myst's Revenge (Summons Bomb to explode on the enemy. No damage to Rydia though)
Z< / > - Chicobo Charge! (Summons a Baby Chocobo to ram into the opponent)
Zv - Meteor Strike (A small meteor smashes the opponent into the ground)

Taunt: Sits and plays with a doll.
(Yes, I realize I'm making her more juvenile than she really was, but I also wanted to make her a bit different from Adult Rydia.)

Gogo

All moves with any button cause Gogo to put his hand out. If he touches someone, he damages them for a slight percentage and steals their move for that one button combination. Thus, Forward A on Orlandu would mean that he would steal Orlandu's Forward A slash, or Down B on Black Mage would mean he would steal Black Mage's Fighterdoken.

Weapon: Aura Lance
B - Auto Crossbow (Easily combo-ed)
B^ - Rocket Punch (Uses a rocket pack to shoot upwards)
B> - Chainsaw
Bv - Flash (Jumping attack, light beam, diagonal down)
Z^ - Bio Cloud (Creates a Cloud of Poison, and tosses the enemy up into it)
Z< / > - Drill
Zv - Mecha Hammer

Taunt: Tosses his head back and laughs.
