Simple topic. Out of all the dictators in history of any country, which one would be your favorite?
Mine would be Joseph Stalin of Russia during World War II. I think it's the moustache. I feel it is the sole factor that separates him from other dictators. I'm actually jealous of it and hope to have one some day.

I'm partial to a few Castroisms myself.
If you look past the insanity and the mass murders, Hitler was quite brilliant.
Stalin sucks. >:( Worse'n Hitler, in the long run (though both are nasty beyond belief).
My favourite dictator? I'll have to go for Caesar. He had it all... An adventurous life, a glorious military career, the Roman Republic's last dying words and a bloody good death scene.
I mean, C'MON. The guy has, in a LOT of languages, a single, very powerful word after his name. Kaizer, Keisari, Kejsare, Tshar. SHAKESPEARE wrote a play 'bout him.

You know, Saddam Hussein is quite underrated. He was involved in more wars than Hitler, and had a better moustache.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks he was badass. If I made a history videogame, he'd be the last boss.
I think Caligula is underrated though. Nero takes all the credit for being the worst Roman Emperor ever, but Caligula was even worse.

Pot Pot from Cambodia. I mean, the dude just spent his time KILLING people. Stalin had pride (Hated the US), Hitler had feelings (Was queasy after Holocuast and was GAY), Alexander was weird (Bisexual and Died in a bath).I mean COME ON! Cambodian dictator. Born on 19 May 1928, to a prosperous and well-connected peasant family in Kompong Thom province, Saloth Sar studied in Phnom Penh and Kompong Cham and became a member of Ho Chi Minh's Indochinese Communist party in 1946.
In 1949, he travelled to Paris to study radio electronics. On his return four years later, he fought briefly against the French in the Indochina war, which resulted in the colonial power's withdrawal from the area in 1954.
At some point, Saloth Sar began calling himself 'Pol Pot' as a nom de guerre. He became a member of the new Communist Party of Kampuchea (Cambodia) in 1960 and its secretary in 1963. He went north to organise the guerrilla war against the government of Prince Sihanouk and, on the overthrow of the latter in 1970, led Khmer Rouge troops in a bitter civil war with the right-wing regime of General Lon Nol, who had changed the country's name to the Khmer Republic.
The Khmer Rouge defeated that government in April 1975 – seeing the fall of Saigon to the Vietcong, Lon Nol escaped from Phnom Penh by helicopter. Pol Pot took total power, even though this was not made public until the following year. The country had yet another name change – to Kampuchea.
As he asserted his independence, Pol Pot quarrelled with Vietnam, which had supported his guerrilla campaign, and imposed his authority on the Kampuchean people. With unbelievable brutality, 'Big Brother Number One' (as he was called) tried to create a truly Communist state by destroying all Western technology and returning to an agrarian society organised on a collective basis.
During the four years of his rule, which began with the declaration of Year Zero, at least one million people died during a reign of terror. Many of them were 'intellectuals', which could simply mean that a person spoke a foreign language or just wore glasses. Pol Pot's victims were buried in mass graves known as the 'killing fields', a name that later became the title of a 1984 Hollywood film about the events.
In January 1979, the Khmer Rouge was brought down by a Vietnamese invasion. Pol Pot fled from Phnom Penh but continued to fight in the countryside and jungle, retiring as head of the Khmer Rouge only in the late 1980s. In 1997, he was sentenced to death in absentia by former Khmer Rouge colleagues in what was considered little more than a show trial. He died of natural causes on 15 April 1998.
He also killed 2 Million People! And is now happily in the house of rest. So good thing for him but what about the 2 Million innoncents. he was the best Dictator cause he was evil. I love a evil dictator.
Let's see. I reckoned Cao Cao was a pretty cunning dictator. He controlled the Emperor without having to seize the Mandate of Heaven and used a huge army wisely to keep everything in his favour until he died.
Akenhaten. He changed the religion of ancient Egypt from the sect of Amun which had been the only religion for thousands and thousands of years into a religion where there was only one god instead of dozens like in the old religion. He even changed his name to comply with the name of the god he created, Aten. To change the religious beliefs of all Egpytians, one of the most religious societies in the ancient world was pretty damn good. Even though it was changed back after he died.

His policies an dideas before the war brought Germany up from the rotting dump it had become after world war one, and changed it into a prosperous economic power. This is why it has been said that if Hitler had died in 1937 before he invaded Austria, he would have been hailed as one of the greatest leaders Europe had ever known if not the World. The only reason Hitler is known as "evil" is because of his anti-sematic veiws. Now don't get me wrong I'm not a Jew hater or anything I just think that Hitler was an excellent politician.

Had they remained views only, it would've been alright. But he acted on those belief, murdering more thab 6 million, and started a war that killed far more, and changed the world. Yes, a brilliant politician... and also a crazed, vicious, and ultimately evil man.
