Yeah, as most of you observant people noticed, i've dissapeared for a few days. Thats because the internet is down. So who do you get your internet from? Verison is my company now, and they arent very productive. Also, whats the longest youve ever been without a computer- not counting the time since you were born to when you first saw a computer. Who is your internet provider? do you like them? whats the biggest problem theyve ever given you? discuss :D

My internet server is AOL, they suck really. I am always getting problems for it, but its the internet so it will do. I havent gone longer than a few months without the internet since I've had it.

AOL... I demand no one gets AOL it really sucks. it sucks so much it does in fact blow. My modem broke and it took them 5 weeks to send us a new one. :mad2:

I'm with Bigfoot (or Lexicon) in Australia on a 512kB/sec connection.
I use Demon, and they're pretty darn good on the whole. They're more expensive than the average UK ISP, but I don't ever remember downtime on ADSL unless it was problems with one of the PCs at my end, IP is nice and static, they provide good newsgroup access including alt.binaries.*, and data transfer is uncapped. I guess the only gripe is lack of 1 mbit for home connections at the moment :p
Turning my PC back on takes forever to get the PC speed going at a good speed.
Biltmore Communications, a local company in Atlanta. Supposedly we have a T3 line for our apartment complex, although it gets bogged down if ALL the people here get on at once. It usually doesn't suck.
I use the University of Toronto network, which is always slow and afrequently disconects us. :(

I have to use AOL. Unfortunately, my modem is defective and constantly disconnects. Not to mention these parental control things.
SAPO ADSL, a didn't have Internet for a few weeks and I was getting upset but they fix it and now it is okay...
Mine blocked EoFF for no reason.
I'm in through JANET, the UK's academic internet service provider (or something like that - CL/Guu/Arch/whateverthehellhe'scalled could probably correct me if he could be bothered...). Occaisionally it goes down - but usually it runs pretty well - and I have managed to briefly clock download speeds of up to 2Mb/s.

I use net at home, at college, and at a place I do some work at. And..the longest I went without using a computer is probably 10/12 days when I stayed with Lindsey..although last time I did use his for five minutes =P I like Tiscali cos they are cheap enough and offer slower broadband for those of us who don't want to download tons of things but just want a nice always on connection =)
I am on 3Mbps cable. I think the company is Charter Cable.
