Eva for me, if only because I could watch it. Cowboy Bebop was way too boring and nearly put me to sleep, plus jazz music is bleh :p
my lead male could beat up your lead male
Unfortunately, that fight would put me to sleep like all other fights I saw in Bebop, so would be no good as entertainment :p
well yeah, shinji would drop to his knees and hide his head and cry
Outlaw star > all :D
At which point EVA-01 goes ballistic and kills everything, thus signifying a victory for Shinji.Quote:

I've yet to see Evangelion, and I'm currently watching Cowboy Bebop. So far, I'm really enjoying CB, though some parts are a bit boring and slow, but then again, most anime is like that.
<3 Gainax
Neither of them are my favorite. .hack//sign is my favorite. And here is why.
Its like a really big long quest with tons of mystery to it. The back story to the whole series is huge and they explain some of it in the actual series(more is explain in .hack//liminality). The series comes to a complete conclusion. Some may wonder what about this and that but if you think about the goal of what everyone was trying to accomplish it got accomplished. Tsukasa was finally able to log out. The rest of the story continues on in the games.
The character designs and world designs are good and creative. Lots of variety.
Mahoromatic was arguably my favorite anime of all time... I loved that no matter how in-depth the story seemed to go it was ALWAYS still just based on the fact that Mahoro wanted bigger breasts.
Amen to that. :D Outlaw Star is one of my favorite animes.Quote:

Neon Genesis Evangelion was okay, at most. Cowboy Bebop had the best animation and art I've ever seen in an anime. There's so much symbolism it's not even funny. The Real Folk Blues were the best anime episodes that I have had the luck to lay my eyes on. It was directed perfectly and I was very, very glad that I watched the entire series to see those last two episodes. Then the movie came out and blew me away. My vote goes to Cowboy Bebop.
.hack//sign's plot progression was non-existent imho. I can't believe I watched the entire thing.
I choose eva, though I haven't finished watched EITHER animes yet. :o
No kidding....rawrQuote:

I thought the plot moved at a great pace but I seem to be one of the few who think that. The music sure help the series out to an unbelievable extent. I can say that if it wasn't for the music it wouldn't be as great as it is. Such great music.Quote:

See for yourself. *points down*
Card Captor Sakura>All.
Even with the filler ^_^. Because nothing, NOTHING makes me as happy as watching CCS. Not even TeniPuri [img]http://home.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/heart.gif[/img]
How exactly does the plot move? Maybe you pay a lot more attention to the administrator's story than I did *shrug*
It was just after 16 episodes I was still wondering 'what's going on and why don't they know anything?'
Administrator's story? There is no Admin in the story of Sign. There is in the games though.
They don't know anything because its all lost history and rumors they need to piece together man. I also payed a lot of attention to Aura and Morrganna.
yeah CCS is a great anime...Quote:

See theme.
Cowboy Bebop was so incredibly boring it isn't even funny.
I also have a place in my heart for Gundam Wing. I plan to get the box set as soon as I can. Also on that list is Gundam Seed and Outlaw Star.

I mean, c'mon. It's by far the best story telling anime out there. It's not about fulfilling some greater good or stopping the bad guys in the name of all that is right. It's about the lives of these people, why they do what they do, and how it intertwines with one another. It's realistic, classy, has an amazing soundtrack, amazing artwork, and just kicks so much ass.
I just don't see how such a moving series of films that REALLY examines the human being (as opposed to the human beings obsession with the "God" figure) can be considered boring. Especially next to something as emotionally exaggerated as Evangelion (just my opinion, but seriously consider these characters. None of them are balanced, they represent super embellished human emotions. Now tell me, in real life, how many people do you know that are ONLY cowards or ONLY brave.)
I'm not saying that Evangelion is a terrible anime. It's great. I'm just saying you can't compare it to something as intensely human as Cowboy BeBop.
Eva, while possibly being the deepest anime out there, isn't nearly as good a show as Bebop. Cowboy Bebop has far superior characters, animation, and fleshes out the story extremely well throughout the show. Even though the main antagonist is only present in 5 episodes, you feel extremely strongly for Spike by the time you finish the series. Plus Eva has waaaay too much angst. It might be a masterpiece, but the last eight or so episodes aren't any fun at all.
Yes Eva is winning :) . *spoiler alert*
I hate comparing these two, they are my two fav Animes...but Eva just edges it.
Character wise, i can not seperate the two. The very human relationships inherent in both Animes, from Shinji and Asukas subtle sexual tension, to the Ironic story of Spike and Vicious (considering it was SPIKE not Vicious that was the original betrayer when he stole Julia), to Jet's excellent drama with his former lover, to Shinji's nervous breakdown, everything is full of passion and depth.
Fight scenes...different styles, but its again a draw. Neither is an action Anime anyway, but still great when they appear.
Animation...Bebop is a clear winner here, not that eva was not incerdiable for a tv anime. But they both had great styles, very different, but equally genius.
Eva will always crush Bebop in Plot. Bebop was never about a super complex plot...I love complex stories, so go Eva!
Now DEPTH...both are Equally deep. Eva engages you in deep philosophical debate, while Bebop uses incrediable subtle deepness, symbolism, imagery and sweeping statements of intense depth, but never impengeing on the fun...like Eva does. However, i love the upfront Deepness too. Another draw.
So in the end...the Depressive nature of eva wins it 4 me. I love dark unhappy things. Bebop was depressing...but i have never seen anything as depressing as Eva.
<3 @ Martian Successor Nadesco! >.>
Eva Vs. Bebop... I'd go for Bebop, I liek a good dolop of fun in my anime.

Just who couldn't love that series, not only did it draw parallels to the styles and actions of other animes of its time but activly seeked to mock them in its own style. Not only that but they still created their own entertaining and quite deep plot along with absorbing characters and some of the best Anime Art I've seen so far :D Oh and Ruri, what tech support worker couldn't relate to her? Just don't mention the minor problems in the film and you have my classic :D
Also the unusually great Dub on Nadesico was also a plus :D
Holy kupo! It's tied. Before I voted and was reading through the posts, it looks like many people says Cowboy Bebop was boring to them. Well, to all their own, but I say Cowboy Bebop forever!
I say Eva for sure Cowboy Bebop is a good anime but can't hold a candle to Eva and yeah so Shinji would get his ass handed to him him and left bleeding the school parking lot late at night against uhhh whats his name if they went mano-a-mano and the Eva manga is awesome as well.
Bebop cause I've never seen the other one and Bebob is so... fulfilling.
you should see Eva..it's perfect and i can't believe it loses right now...Quote:

Albedo: *Laughs maniacally* I feel like making a seperate Gundam Thread like this.
to be honest they're two different animes....
I liked them both, I will say though especailly if you seen the eva movies you'd see how brave the writers were with shinji's character *cough* end of eva scene *cough* hospital............
some of you know what I mean....
yeah the hospital scene is controversial a lot..but i still believe that Eva is much better than CB..but i guess everyone has his opinion right?Quote:

If I had to choose out of those two, I would say Eva, CBB (cowboy BeBop) is not with out some charm but in my opinion Eva satisfies both my hot blooded need for action and my overwhelming need for a good story (confusing though it may be).
However, My favorite Anime series would have to be a close call between Heat Guy J and Berserk.
Heat Guy J has a funky tech noir feel (Daisuke Rules) to it and Berserk has characters which I can really empathise with (I mean the first episode was sooo :whoa: ) I'd recomende it to all Anime fans.
Other distinctions in the Razael Hall of Fame include: Noir, Chobits, .Hack// and Ah My Goddess.
AVOID: Street Fighter V like the "Zombie" status effect.
My personal favorite is Arjuna very motovating storyline. ;) ;) ;) ;)
I haven't watched Bebop too much, or NGE---BUT I recently bought the manga to NGE. And that sways me......to vote for NGE. You can bet I'm going to be buying more of this stuff.
Although I DO want to check out Bebop; it looks really good, what can I say. And Christmas is...sort of close...
:D
